We have been staying at Lucia,s for the last 14 years and always feel like extended family of Lucia,Joseph and Lawrence. They make us very welcome, the rooms are very clean and always have the personal touch and Lucia,s breakfasts are excellent [especially her potato barji and puris] We have already booked our flight for next year which we are looking forward to having missed this year.It is situated in the quiet end of Goa away from the hustle and bustle and is only 5mins walk away from the sea and lovely beach. But there are also some good restaurants closeby a very good holiday we always have.

A family run place, the Lucia Guesthouse is an ideal place for those wanting clean, basic, affordable accomodation. This little gem is tucked away down a quiet lane in Sinquerim, just past the Lui Beach Hotel, offering a bit of tranquility from the mayhem of Calangute/Baga, but still within easy reach of more varied nightlife of Candolim. Rooms vary from single to two bedroom, with shower room, A/C and a fridge that is stocked with minerals and beer, all at supermarket prices so no fear of a "bar bill" that will shock you at the end of your stay. From the start Joseph, his wife Lucia and son Lawerence greet you with warmth giving the feel of staying with a family rather than a business run enterprise. If you are a Goa novice, Joseph will gladly impart his knowledge and expertise of Goan way of life, and offer many things to see and do.
This exchange usually takes place as he brings breakfast to your balcony each morning as the warmth of the day creeps in and all you have is a sea view and the birds for company. The guesthouse is the last in the lane so only a small palm plateau leading down the the beach, ideal for early morning walks, the best time to spot the odd dolphin. All in all a great place to stay and my time there was memorable and would not hesitate to return and recommend to others. Looking forward to 2013 and fingers crossed i will be able to book again as the guesthouse is popular with people returning year after year, to what is really a home from home.

Lucia's Beach Guest House is really excellent (*stars). In december 2011 it was our third time staying by Lucia's. It's simple and basic but what do you need more when you have Lucia, Joseph and Lawrence (their son) on your side? The room is oke, we had two big rooms with ac and a large fridge wich were filled every day with cold drinks for local prices. They clean the room every day and the towels are fine and clean. The breakfast is customer made and served on the balcony with an amazing view of the Arabic sea. When you enjoy your breakfast you hear the waves of the sea and the sound of the whispering palmtrees, while drinking your fresh juice the Kingfisher birds sing their song. For breakfast you have a choice of pancake with coconut, strawberries with cream, yoghurt, fresh fruit, bread, eggs or samosa (Indian food). Also Lucia was cooking for us one evening, it was very nice to eat in their living room, it feels like home. The location is perfect! It's a quiet place only a few minutes to the beach and 5 minutes to the centre of Candolim. Also near by Lucia's you can find some good restaurants and a taxiplace. Lucia, Joseph and Lawrence have a mission, to feel by them like home. We did........!!!

We are lucky to have stayed @ the Lucia Beach Guest House for more years than I can remember, we could not think of staying anywhere else in Goa, the kindness & warm hospitality we have experienced over the years is second to none. The location of the Lucia Beach Guest House suits us perfectly, whilst being quiet & safe, it is within easy walking distance to many restaurants. There are always taxis available at the road end when you may wish to stray further & where during the day you can also board the local buses. Most importantly, from the rooms at the rear you have a wonderful sunset view through the palm trees to the sea beyond. We always reserve our room for next year before leaving...& dream of our next visit as soon as we return to our home in Scotland.

I stayed for 7 weeks in jan -mar 2011.I felt like a member of the family .I spent time with Lucia in the kitchen learning some local cooking, went to market with her on the local bus, attended Lawrences Birthday Party .
My room although small was perfectly formed for me.My only complaint would be the very very hard mattress...
It was a short stroll to the beach in one direction and 70m to main road for shops bars etc.
My favorite place was the terrace of my room looking out through the palm trees.I could be found there every morning at 0730 and every night at 1730hrs ,from my position i met lots of local people and many tourists some of whom i now call friends.. I was unable to go back this year and have missed Joseph Lucia and Lawrence so much and am hoping to go back next year .
Fingers crossed .

We have recently returned from our 12th visit to Lucia Guest House and for us and many of their guests it is like returning to our second home.

If you are looking for somewhere that will give you a flavour of Goan life then Lucia Guest House is the place for you. Joseph, Lucia and their son Lawrence make all their guests most welcome and really go out of their way to make your stay with them most enjoyable.

Lucia’s generous breakfast changes every day and is delivered to your room by a smiling Lawrence, all six rooms have a balcony so your day starts with breakfast “al fresco”.

The rooms are very clean, plenty of hot water, unusually for Goa a very comfortable bed, a fridge filled with beer and water at supermarket prices and bedding and towels are changed every 2 days.

It is located in a quiet area just off the beach at Sinquerim between the Taj and Kingfisher Villa, 2-3 mins walk to the main road for a bus or taxi with a number of restaurants within walking distance.

Like many of their guests we will be returning next year.

This was our sixth time staying with Joseph Lucia & Lawrence since 2005. As always the hospitality shown by our hosts was second to none, and we are already planning to return to stay with them next year. Situated in Sinquerim a little of the main road this little haven of tranquility is must for any one who wants to escape the "rat race" of holidaying in a hotel.

Although a small guest house their desire is to make your stay memorable and stress free.

After returning to our room after a hard day relaxing on the beach as if by magic Joseph will appear with coffee, in the morning it's the same. On our most recent trip my wife wanted to visit Mapsua to buy some material for a dress, Lucia not only provided the advice of which stall to go to she accompanied her and haggled the vendor down to an excellent price.

Whilst staying here Joseph and Lucia have invited us into their personal quarters to dine with them on a number of occasions treating us to home cooked Goan cuisine of a type that's not to be found in any of the restaurants and beach shacks.

We discovered Lucia beach guest house quite by chance in 2005 we where not disappointed then and nor on any of our subsequent stays
