“Terrible experience at Ginger Tree Village Resort at GOA”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

Located in swampy area and if you are staying longer, dengue is free gift. i have booked this hotel through cleartrip.com and really had very bad experience. Will never recommend rather suggest not to stay in this hotel. They are far away from the services they boast of. Pool is terrible and filled with worms you want skin infection jump in. No drinking water available. No hot water. No restaurant. Very poor service. Electric line fluctuates every moment. Restaurant is in Ginger beach resort which is 1 km away from this Ginger Tree village, for Breakfast, lunch, dinner you have to go there for even drinking water. Its Caretaker Mr Ramesh behaviour is worse, took the money for extra bed but gave the extra beds at night 11 oclock (in which ants and worms are free) after calling repeatedly to Ms Kajal whose number is given in the site. Everytime, Mr Ramesh is asking for travels, vehicles for booking. I am surprised why the sites like makemytrip, cleartrip and mahindra are using this hotel (may be they are getting better commissions). When asking for bills, he gives a money receipt of Goveyard agency. He does not know the difference between bill & money receipt.

Room Tip: Do not book in Ginger tree Village resort,

I've been to Goa three times, and unfortunately I booked this hotel this time. Rooms are small and stuffy, with poor view.
- You cannot expect any response from hotel staff before 8:00 AM.
- We had paid for extra bed for kid, and it was only given after several rounds with the hotel reception.
- The extra bed in my friends' room never arrived.
- What makes it worse is that there are bunch of Taxi driver bullies just outside the gate, and they harass people who come in or out. If you park your vehicle around the gate by mistake for 10 mins, they will puncture it. Most of us were scared to go out after dark because of these bunch of rude people around the gate.
- You need to walk a fair bit to the main road, as the hotel is inside. On google map - they show it near a beach, but its nowhere near what they say it is.

Room Tip: Simple advise? Stay away from this hotel!

The staff here is very friendly and heed to every request made, making it feel like your home. Perfect and scenic place which comes at a very affordable price. Well maintained, very quite and calm, perfect for a holiday. Swimming pool well maintained. Hotel is located right in Candolim, though it is a bit away from the main road, which keeps the local crowd away. Candolim Beach and local market within walking distance. Made my holiday.

Room Tip: Love the rooms on the first floor -gives a nice view! :)

I loved that the Ginger Tree Village is located a little away from the main bustle and crowd, because I get enough of that in the city back in Mumbai. It is not far from all the happening places like Baga, Calangute and has public transport to Panjim, moreover the Resort can arrange for vehicle rent on request. The management was very welcoming and prompt but left us to our peace. If you are having a lazy day, the pool makes for a good place to relax.
Overall, I would recommend it to people who want a real break, thier calm and private and a touch of home with thier warm staff.
