“wonderful stay in casa candolim”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

We dind´t know whalt will be expecting us in Goa.
It was a wonderful surprise - casa candolim is located very nice and quiet, our welcome in the casa candolim (04:00 am!) was very friendly, warm and familiar. Our room was huge and with a wonderful view to the sunset!. Boss-family and staff is very helpful and when you need or want anything - you are in the right place. We enjoyed our stay (11/2013) in casa candolim very much and we will be back for sure :-))
Surrounding of the hotel is also very nice - restaurants and shops are close - in walking distance. When we wanted to go on a trip, the staff from casa condolim will organize and help you anytime. We also got some interesting informations on our arrivalday for trips, restaurants, shopping, sightseeing and everything we wanted to know - Sumir and Suvidha and staff where a big help - GOA was a new travelling-country for us.
Suuuuupie :-))

We had a short but wonderful time at Casa Candolim. We stayed at this resort for 5 nights and find the location and service a prime advantage of this resort. The location is simply superb, it is probably as close as you can get from the beach and also a short walk away from some wonderful restaurants. The rooms are very spacious, and beds comfortable. The swimming pool was not yet opened and we were already warned about that. It is a simple hotel with neat clean rooms and a great breakfast close to the beach and restaurants. No other activities available at the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to people looking for a great location and personalized service.

Loved this "boutique hotel" located in the heart of the tourist area of Goa, almost on the beach but in a quiet corner. The food is without a doubt a good, but not exactly what you expect from India. You can easily overcome this because the staff will make you feel great, just like you’re a part of the family and the view of the beach will make it all worth it. . Everything in the hotel is spotless, the rooms are large and have all modern amnesties. I am glad that my friends recommended this place, and I do it as well. A great place to stay.

A very close friend recommended that I stay at Casa Candolim. I made the inquiry and the owner was actually reluctant in accepting my booking suggesting that it was off season and restaurants and shacks in Candolim were not open. However, I did venture to go there since I already had my tickets confirmed a couple of months before. At first my impression certainly was what the kind owners had explained. There were just a couple of restaurants open and one beach shack, but within a day I started discovering many other chilled out places that were open, mostly towards the north. The beach was marvelous. I would like to comment that what sets this hotel apart is the location, it is barely a couple of minutes walk to the beach and if you do get up early morning and take your beach mat with you, you could spend hours meditating, doing yoga or exercising, the weather is next to perfect. I also appreciated the honestly and straightforwardness of the owners during our to and fro emails. Their first email explained that it was a small hotel like a home stay set forth in a village with power cuts etc. I was pre warned on what to expect so maybe that was the reason that my expectations were not that high and I enjoyed my stay so much. Instead of hard selling their rooms like most hotels, this was a welcome difference where someone was actually highlighting the drawbacks not only of the hotel but also of staying off season. Overall we had a more than satisfactory stay and we are looking forward to our next trip which would definitely be in season

Room Tip: We stayed in the beach facing block in front of the pond, it was a nice clean and rather spacious ro...

A great place to stay in Goa! The rooms are big, beautiful furnished with dark wooden furniture and it is cool and clean! The garden is particularly lovely with lots of shade and we enjoyed sitting there having a cool drink or a coffee.

The fact that there are only 8 rooms means that the staff really know all the guests and they seemed to do everything possible to make it a great stay for us.

Slight downside is that there is no restaurant (besides for breakfast and afternoon tea). It is only a short walk to the main street or beach and you can also get Dominod etc to deliver to your room. And as there is a proper fridge you can keep drink + snacks in your room but a small restaurant would be a great addition!

Also Candolim seems to attract a lot of 60 years + travellers so it is a quite peaceful area.

Honestly speaking, this was our first trip to India and we totally relied on online reviews to select all the hotels in India, trip advisor mostly though. We read all the good and not so good reviews on each property and I would say that in our 2 months stay in India, the place we enjoyed was Goa, also due to the warm and friendly reception and service received on our stay at casa candolim. The upsides are brought out in most good reviews, great service, great location, excellent hosts etc. not most unfavourable reviews may perhaps justify the criticism on the property but we should stick to our experience which was that the property is a small 8 room hotel divided into 2 blocks of 4 rooms each about 50 meters apart. The property is narrow and long, so each block is on the end of each side with a garden and an outhouse in the centre. We stayed in the block closer to the beach and had a barely 1 minute walk to the other block for breakfast. We did not find that a problem even a bit. Breakfast was superb, eggs, pancakes, cereal, some lovely brewed coffee and selection of fruits and breads. Commuting was simple, local taxis, everything is close by except the old Goa tour which takes about 1 hour each way. Not much to do inside the hotel in terms of facilities etc. but plenty to do once you step out, the manager , a sweet little girl guides you through everything. Full marks on service, room and location, a few points less on facilities within the hotel and the small pool but I do understand the logic of this, just 4 minutes walk to the beach. A lovely trip. We do plan to return later this year or next to Casa Candolim, would not think of another hotel.

From the moment we got picked up at the airport by a taxi service sent by the hotel till we met our host we felt we were talking to an old friend! She made it clear to us that the staff were there to make sure we have a pleasant time.

We found the room to be nice clean and quiet large. Our room got cleaned everyday. What I really appreciated was that when we had left washing hanging in the bathroom, a few times and when we came back from our day out at the beach we would walk find all our clothes were removed from the bathroom and hung in a special area and later brought back to us dried and neatly folded!!! The staff were always asking if there was anything they could do.

We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning it had a few choices and it reminded me of my mums cooking. May I add that we had issues with our TV one morning, they had someone fix it within an hour. The free wi-fi has a good speed too.

It was one of the most enjoyable stays and will definately be going back to Casa Candolim next time we visit Goa. The level of service is what impresses most amongst many other things. Such as the quiet location, relaxing rest areas and proximity to all things happening. etc
