I tent camped here Nov 3-4. Very nice place to spend a couple of days. Did the Dog Canyon hike. Pretty tough hike but very good views. Nice panoramic views from the campsites too. Someone mentioned in another review about it being hard to get tent stakes in the ground. I agree. Difficult but not impossible. I managed to get mine in about halfway and stacked rocks on them to make sure. I also liked being only a 15 minute drive away from Alamogordo in case I needed anything.
Hats off to the park staff on the cleanliness of the bathroom/shower facility. It was by far the cleanest I've ever seen at a state or national park. Much appreciated!
