A must visit on any trip to this area. Have traveled extensively and have not seen anything like this! We did not sled but should have!

“Like entering a magical world”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

We had a great time there. The dunes are *huge*, you can climb on top of a dune and be completely alone, the only people near you are about a mile away. It's like entering a magical world, it's overwhelming, in the best way possible :) The sand is cool, you can leave your shoes in the car and go barefoot. On the top of the dune you can listen to the sheer silence around you.

“Definitely white sand!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

We enjoyed the National Monument including the visitors center. They have a very good short (17min) film that is worth seeing. Parking for RVs. The dunes drive is easy but the pavement runs out about halfway to the end where the picnic and parking spaces are. Take plenty of water. Hiking the dunes can be strenuous especially when hot out.
