“This place is an original.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2012

Walking into the Indian Coffee House is like stepping back in time. Nothing changed here since 1950, not even the prices. The interior is stripped of any extras, drinks and snacks arrive on steel plates and the waiters don a somewhat colonial uniform (?!) This place is a unique must-see! Favourite place in Chandigarh.

“price and ambience that takes you back in 1950.......”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012

the place has been there since several years and the price is the same since long. how can anyone imagine idli and sambar for 25 rs in todays time and that too dine in.

i am amazed how these people are making profits. they serve in old style cups and utensils and the dress of the staff are also very old. they give a look of the ones in the 1950's and the place does not even have ac.

actually the price they serve at does not allow them to do so

overall a great place for budget conscious people

“A glimpse of indian communism”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2012

Before your eyes can locate this humble restaurent in heart of chandigarh sector 17, you can smell the watery sambhar and the aromatic filter coffee.
As all other ICH's this Indian Coffee house is owned and manged by its employees.
The food is very good for the price you pay.
Avoid on weekends and public holidays as you will always find it full.
Try Sambhar Vada, Filter Coffee, Cold Coffee

“Just Enjoy being there!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2012

Sector 17 coffee house (near Music World) is our fav hotspot. Hotdogs, Cold Coffe and Idlis is the group's set menu. The place is small, old fashioned and generally have to wait to get seat but its everyone's favourite place.

“For Filter Coffee”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2012

You have to get used to ICH culture. Food is good & reasonably priced. Place is overcrowed during office breaks. Don't expect hifi or star culture. Young generation may not like in comparison to CCD or Barista. Good filter coffee with true south indian flavour.
