The hotel is very near to the railway station, about 12 minutes by walk. Rickshaw takes Rs. 10/-. The hotel looks a bit old & dirty from outside but once you enter it, the feeling changes. Its a good hotel & well maintained. The rooms are clean but the cleanliness should have been a degree better with the no. of staff appointed but unfortunateky the cleaning staff are not very sincere. The rooms are big with 2 sofas, a centre table. Suite has a dinning table & divider curtain. Rooms have LCD, complimentary WiFi (which is really quite fast!!), very bright environment. Toilets of normal rooms are small but clean. The Suit toilet is decorated. 24 hr hot water. There is a fridge in every room but usually its not operational. The staff guide you well about the destinations & fare they quote are realistic.
Hotel Kanishka has one drawback, it has no restaurant of its own. They either cook the food in the kitchen & serve it in the rooms or get it from outside. Chinese takes a long time. Food is also hoghly priced. Breakfast is complimentary but options are very limited - puri, sabji & bread, butter, that's all. There are no eateries nearby except for Hotel Celebration's food joint in the station.
Staff is well behaved. Laundry is done by external agency.
