Visakhapatnam is considered a centre for education in Andhra Pradesh.Visakhapatnam
has one of the country's largest ports and its oldest shipyard.
It has the only natural harbour on the eastern coast of India.
As the city is located on the Bay of Bengal, the humidity remains high throughout the year.
The months from November to February are the best times to visit the city.

“Amazing experiences at Vizag”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2010

Hi, my name is Yugandhar. I stay at Hyderabad. With our office colegues, we visited the vizag for the first time of our Office Colegue Marriage. We stayed there for 2 days at a nearest hotel at Gajuvaka which is nearer to our colegue marriage house.

In the afternoon around 3pm time we all gone out in Tavera to visit the vizag beautiful places. 1st we gone to Simhachalam temple. The template was constructed on a hill station and the environment was simply superb and inside the temple I heard for the first time in my life is there is a KAPPA STAMBAM (a unique pillar) to which if we wrap our hands to the pillar and wish anything in future it would be compulsory done. This was most amazing & waiting for my wish to be come true.

Secondly we visited Rishikonda beach. As this was my first experience, for the first time seeing ocean, it was AWESOME. Full of wind blowing, some fishers are getting ready to go into the ocean for fishing the scene was awesome. After spending some time at the beach, we moved to near by Park called KAILASHGIRI which is on the hill station, there was a rope way facility to go up to the park. After reaching there, we saw 2 amazing scenes . 1 was the endless ocean and other side was the beauituful Vizag city the time was 5.40pm. from there we can 60-70% of the city.

After that we reached to our colegues marriage place came back to our city. But we heared that we missed more many beautiful placed like A Real Sub-marine, Arakku, the most amazing Borra Caves etc.

But the trip city is amazing the temple, the beach etc. This was my un-forgetable experience at Vizag

“A perfect Tourist place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2010

In brief Vizag is perfect place to visit for a vacation. It has many attractions right from temples to nature spots.Below are the list of places which are worth to visit

Dolphin’s Nose: wow a single hill rock of more than 350mts height. A Light House is situated on top of the hill and from here they guide the ships coming to Visakhapatnam. You need a special permission to view this light house.

Beach: Vizag beach has a special attraction, generally the beach ends with soil, sand or mountains but in vizag we can see the beach ending with these three at a place. Rishikonda beach is very good place for swimming and r.k beach is also lovely

Temples: Kailasagiri has the statue of the couple (Siva-Parvathi) and it has a rope way (which is thrilling to travel) and from here we can have the bird view of the city and the beach.

As I was there for only 4 days i am able to see these places but planning to visit again to see the harbor, parks, Buddhist temple and Araku valley ( for seeing this i will be definitely go to vizag)

“My favourite place in INDIA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2010

Visakhapatnam is a very nice place in ANDHRAPRADESH. Lot of scenic beauty is there like RAMAKRISHNA Beach to enjoy and KAILASA GIRI hill .

Kailasa giri hill we can go by walk, by vehicle or by ROPE WAY. very nice place to spend some time with family. There are famous temples like SIMHACHALAM, KANAKA MAHALAKSHMI temples.

We can enjoy the HARBOUR area with boating also. There are 3 hills at this place on each hill one temple is there i.e on one hill TEMPLE of venkateswara is there on the 2nd one mosque is there and on the 3rd one CHURCH is there. People are very friendly here. No religious rifts and fights even though all are there at one place.

Crime rate is very less in vizag. Lot of movies being shot TELUGU, TAMIL, HINDI etc. There is one STUDIO available , DR.D.Ramanaidu holds this STUDIO. IT sector is also improving

Within 100-150 km dt Hill station called ARAKU is there very nice place to visit also naturally formed CAVES ( BURRAH caves ) are there at this place.
