Yes, this is a well appointed property with a great view from every room. The rooms are spacious and the staff are very courteous and helpful . The gym is rather nice and so is the pool. The roof top fine dining place serves great food in a lovely ambiance. There is an absolutely amazing hostess called Chatura who is excellent at her work and the sous chef Naveen comes out to meet your every requirement .
Housekeeping is weak . The rain shower in my room 515 was partly clogged ...so streaks of water were jetting around and it was difficult to have a good shower ...they had not cleaned out the holes ...and could not do so throughout my stay inspite of my telling them twice.
On arrival into the room ...the minibar was empty, there was no TV channel list ..." its because of the groups " and " we are very full " ......rather bad excuses for an hotel ! They had no IPL Cricket Channel in the room ...but they got that done by the next day ...good action !
The marble on the bathroom floor and under the luggage rack was stained and looked unclean ...again noone did anything about it
They have " save water" stickers all over ...but the water is so soft that it takes a long time to have a bath because it feels soapy all the time . The softenising plant is working in overdrive ! They must be losing a fortune on the water bills !
The group issue is very visible at breakfast where one has to fight one's way to get anything ! Hoards of people all over pushing and shoving. They should have a separate place for FITs ! But they were attentive none the less ...they messed up my eggs and the chef moved in to sort things out . The staff are really good !
Billing and front office is another area of concern ...it took a while to get my bills done ...and yes the ladies could do with a good reorientation in english ...some of the good ups were hilarious ! The front office and the hospitality desk does not pick up the phone at times ...
The bar is actually a disco ...and the flashing coloured floor lights can be rather annoying when one is the sole occupant in the place ...but they won't switch them off or tone them down even though its not " dance night "
The spa looked inviting till I took the limp , thumbed, dog eared menu into my hands ...not a good feeling ...so I never went !
The beach and the ocean looks good ....but that's where it ends ...I went for a walk and boy was it filthy with people defecating on the sides and all sorts of trash and muck all over ...open sewage drains leading to the sea water ...so stay away and admire it from a distance !
All in all a very nice place and well meaning ..but needs to coordinate its departments and work on housekeeping ...and how to run efficiently when full !
See and admire the beach from the hotel .....when you get to it its filthy and embarrasing as men ar...
