Went for conference in hyderabad and stayed in tajdeccan for two days.As expected the hotel is well located and connected to taj krishna by walkway. It is more of a business hotel with funtional rooms and good facilities. The staff is courteous and helpful.Food is really good and lots of variety to choose from.

A great Taj Hotel in Hyderabad with a grand lobby. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The pool is great and even the food is undoubtedly delicious. I recommend this hotel for a family stay to anyone. The staff is great and I had a relaxing stay here.

A hotel stay during a typical business trip doesn't really make an impression unless it was bad or splendidly memorable. All the more reason for recall is if one has had a bad travel experience prior checkin. After a delayed arrival which ate into my sleep time the checking was frustratingly delayed at 2am for no fault of the poor must-be-equally-tired- but-she-appeared-fresh receptionist but for the ironical reason that it was made in a colleague's name which was hitherto unbeknownst to me and who decided to change his flight plan at the last min to the next day. Lesson Learnt do your bookings yourself or in such circumstances insist on some form of a confirmation. The smart R'ist Rumki was resourceful, innovative n alert and within 5 min did an 'Elementary My Dear Watson' act by digging out the resv details in that mysterious nom-de-plume plus two. But those 5 min of uncertainty appeared interminable and foreboding. Taj Deccan one of three Taj Hotels located within a few hundred meters of each other. Taj Krishna is similar business type, whereas the third is Taj Vivanta. Located further away is Taj Falaknuma which is a Palace of the erstwhile Nawab (Aristocrat) of Hyderabad. T Deccan is about an hour from the airport in the heart of the city. It is kind of a boxed-in with a large central courtyard which is quite spacious with large lobby housing the all day coffee house cum restaurant. All the floors overloook this large central space. The rooms were cosy, comfortable and elegantly done as one would expect from any Taj property. Coming to my room, The large glass wall made the room both spacious & naturally lit where for three mornings I enjoyed my masala Chai or our Indian herbal milk tea. Surprisingly It was nice to see the good old TV with the curvy convex picture tube, but TV viewing was pretty restricted and seemed strangely nostalgic rather than irritating. As usual a few minor observations were attended to with alacrity and sincerity. The gym was basic but met the purpose, the open kidney shaped swimming pool was nestled in a picturesque clump of exotic palms and Christmas trees. It had sufficient length for a straight swim. The cuisine was ok for the veggie business traveler though a few local delicacies would have been like icing on the cake. The huge mural of horses busts looked on elegantly while one dines as did the discreet central fountain that one hears first. The staff was hospitable in a sincere, businesslike like way, guess it went with the character as every executive whose path was crossed wished and enquired about my stay without being intrusive or clumsy. The GM was also courteous enough to stop by during is morning/evening rounds. Another lesson learnt was to carry some medication for a queasy tummy; more than the bug it is stress sometimes that does it. No fuss, no cribs and met my requirements all right.

Room Tip: The Room No 125 that I stayed in had a view of a govenment building in the background and some ordin...

After having few previous experiences with other 5 star properties like The Zuri, Marriott and few others, we had set the foot in the 'Taj Deccan, Hyderabad' for business purpose with a lots of expectations.
Needless to say, lot of the expectations were met and exceeded in few regards. However, few things were found not up-to the mark.

First the things that delighted us:
The breakfast counter (off course free) exceeded expectations in terms of food quality, variety and service.
The Pavbhaji (I don't know who eats Pavbhaji at 5 star :)) but it was very good

The things that were not upto the mark:
1. The conference hall cleanliness (Very dirty carpets)
2. The conference hall sizes are also not up-to the 5 start standards.
3. Food arrangements for guests at conference hall - very shabby for the crowded occasions, no seating arrangements, crammed up counters, lack of directions and discipline enforcement and blah blah blah...
4. The views from the rooms, not very pleasant. In the sense that we could see some terrace which was not used or was not regularly cleaned.
5. Sofa sets and furniture was not up-to the mark for aesthetics perspective.
6. Little things that matter the most: e.g. Tooth paste, scrub etc. things were missing which are normally provided in other hotels.
7. The corridor near the smoking rooms need better ventilation, it most of the times stinks. :(

With that, nevertheless I conclude that it was still a pleasant stay barring the exception of the experiences in the conference halls.

Room Tip: Go for a non-smoking room, the corridor near the smoking rooms need better ventilation

I had been a Taj Inner Circle Member and always prefer to stay in Taj Property weather Business or Holiday. This was a business trip and never realized that I am travelling on the week of a Celeb's Sister wedding where all the nice hotels had been book for the Reason, while the Wedding was happening in Taj Faluknama but we can feel the buzz all around. Never mind now talking about the Hotel, I think I would rate my Stay and experience as very mediocre unlike any other Taj Holidays which had been overwhelming till date. So the prices were also a bit high.
The -ves were like the Stewart always give a look after their service as if you need to prize them or tips them if they had open the Gate for you or the lift or so to say if they have carried your luggage.

Now coming room quality they were good, first day i was in a single bed but when i requested the Front Desk was kind to offer a room with a queen size bed.

They have a nice swimming Pool, which they should promote more. But somehow it is in the backyard and I felt a little left out. I went twice in my four days stay and unfortunately no one beside me used the Pool at that period.

The Toilet and toiletries were OK. It is just a three floor Hotel But the lift need to have an access key. And if your access key don't work (which happened to me twice)then there is no one who can help near the Lift and the Front Desk is a bit far.

Overall the Stay was satisfactory, but the Staff should be a little professional. Keep it up!!

Room Tip: Make sure your access Key is always working or else u have to walk quite a bit for the reactivating...

The Taj warmth is very evident in this place. Located in the heart of the city it is very cozy. The rooms are spacious and toilets are very good. The staff are excellent and helpful which is very typical of a Taj property anywhere in the country. The breakfast is also good as usual.

Room Tip: Room on the higher floors
