“Wonderful facility; still working out the kinks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

The Hyatt is a beautiful facility. The rooms have all the comforts you'd expect from a luxury hotel. Sheets and bed are probably the most comfortable I've had in India. I had an interior (atrium) room which was quiet; the hotel is in a dense area so exterior rooms would probably be loud. The bathroom was functional and aesthetically pleasing. Overall, I found the colors chosen for the rooms and lobby area to be very relaxing.

The hotel was empty when I stayed there. The staff was very helpful throughout and they all seemed to know what they were supposed to do. Service in the restaurants was excellent. On Friday night, there was a large private party at the hotel, but security coming into the hotel kept moving just fine.

Compared to other 4 and 5* hotels in Hyderabad, the restaurants are less of a focus here. The food was good, but not that memorable. (I didn't eat in the Italian restaurant, which they say is the premier one.) Great service and pleasant surroundings while dining, however.

Some problems:
* Lights didn't work on check-in (wouldn't turn off). Took several calls and about an hour to have them fixed.
* Folio didn't get emailed as per request. This was fixed when I complained about it on the hotel's survey.

Location is great for Banjara Hills or Jubilee Hills. Would be a 20-minute drive (minimum) to Hi-Tech City.

I visit Park Hyatt Hyderabad Property regularly and thoroughly enjoy the amenities. Suitable located and adequately priced - it is worth the spend.Rooms are spacious, there are few apartment suites as well. Food is moderate and is an average affair though. They have an Italian spread which is not worth the money.

My overall experience with this hotel is a very good one. The service was excellent and so was the food. The staff are well trained professionals, polite and hospitable. The room service was excellent.

I have stayed here twice. The rooms are very large and modern and fully-equipped with all the mod-cons. If you are staying by yourself or as a couple, there really is no need to try for a suite upgrade. They have a lot of thoughtful features for business travelers such as a large working desk and every power outlet being an international adapter plug. The beds are modern and comfortable and have nice linens.

There are some oddities in decor and room layout. The entire front half of the room is floor-to-ceiling marble, which gives something of the feeling of an upscale public restroom. The shower is set in the ceiling in the middle of the bathroom (rather than in a separate shower stall) and the bathroom floor is not sloped, which means that half the water flows straight out under the bathroom door into the bedroom area. I am sure the every single guest quickly learns to jam a towel under the bathroom door when they shower.

The biggest room issue is that half the rooms have no outside-facing windows. Half the rooms face the outside world and the other half of the rooms overlook the internal atrium and look straight across the atrium into the windows of other rooms. Although the hotel is new and still mostly empty, they seem to insist on putting the lowest room rate guests into these inward-facing rooms. Definitely ask for an outward facing room when you book, email them before you arrive to reiterate your request, then ask again when you check in.

The general ambiance of the hotel is modern, upscale - and western. There really isn't much of a flavor of India here. If you are looking for an "authentic Indian experience", stay somewhere else (e.g., the ITC Kakatiya is nice).

The staff are friendly and helpful - although, like everywhere in India, there seem to be a lot of staff who have no job other than to say "Hello, how is your stay going" every time they see you. Getting into and out of the hotel requires running an almost-embarrassing gauntlet of friendly greetings. The car service to and from the airport is excellent (a modern large BMW and very helpful staff at the airport) and well worth paying for.

The gym is large and well equipped and the pool (though quite small) is very nice.

Food is adequate but not special. There are three restaurants - each with "just OK" food of one kind or another. Room service food is again "just OK" and has a quite small range of choices. For business travelers who have to eat alone, it is a shame that none of the restaurants have a dinner buffet.

There is not much that you can walk to in the neighborhood. It's on a busy main road with a scattering of businesses and a movie theater complex across the street, but no mall or general shopping area within easy walking distance. However, Hyderabad is not a walking city in the best of cases, so this issue is not unique to the Park Hyatt.

The bottom line is that I stayed here once, I chose to stay here again, and I will stay here again on my next visit. The pluses definitely outweigh the minuses and in general it's a nice hotel and a comfortable stay with good service.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the outside world, not the atrium. Half of the rooms in the hotel overlo...

I recntly stayed at park hyatt at Hyderabad. I have been to other properties of hyatt else where like Mumbai and Goa etc. Compared to those it is a shade less. The ambience is extremely good but some how does not meet the standards of Hyatt. The facilities are not adequate as in other propeties of Hyatt like Tennis courts , shopping show rooms etc.I found good food is served in Oriental bar aand even furnishing is good too but the location of the hotel is not very good as one needs to walk down a lot to find some good market around

Overall, the hotel itself is nice enough but at a hotel that strives to deliver a luxury experience, it falls short on a number of levels. In particular, the staff and facilities are not yet completely reliable.

General comments
- Very few guests were staying there at the time. Often I would be the only one eating dinner or breakfast at the restaurants.
- Breakfast at the Westin and Kakatiya is better though there are some nice touches. Service at breakfast improved over the course of the week
- Too much staff (with not enough to do)
- The pool is nicely situated though a little small
- Odd bathroom layout -- the shower flows directly on the marble floor of the room rather than the tub)

Specific issues I encountered:
- Broken A/C (too cold rather than too hot)
- TV not working, took two calls and 24+ hours to fix
- Robes were consistently damp
- Many rooms don't have a outside window and instead overlook the atrium. A request for an outside-facing room was ignored by the front desk though they eventually moved me due to the A/C issue

A brand new property at Hyderabad and in sync with the high standards of the Hyatt group. A luxurious entrance and lobby with a new type of architecture. Rooms are classy and very comfortable. Lavazza coffee maker in the room - wow
