“No value for your money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

This hotel is an issue by itself I really don't know where to start all I can say is for the price you pay its not worth it. We paid 88 us a night per person because it was supposedly all inclusive drinks and three meals a day. Well the front desk staff was ok. The rooms are like 10-15 minutes walk from the entrance and the reception area upon entering the buildings where the rooms are located the place smells foul goodness like an old mildew place that had not been mopped for months and some air freshner or glade plug in could have at least been used. The rooms were not so bad two nice size beds warning do not leave your porch door open cause mosquitoes will eat you up. Now to the so call all inclusive part their is a bar outside of the pool that has slush machines that look so old and curdled up I asked for a virgin pina colada and was told I would have to pay for that because all their alcoholic drinks are free but you have to pay for virgin drinks just unbelievable I would expect this to be all inclusive. Anyways so we had some ice slush and they have two standard flavor mora(berry) and goubana (soursop) and warning from now if you suffer from diabetes do not get none of their slush drinks from the open bar its syrup high sugar content that we had to throw ours away because it was too sweet and low and behold there was the trash can filled with the slush cups I guess its a strategy so you dont ask for more. Now to the all inclusive buffet the food wasnt so bad but it gave me diarrhea everyday for 5 days I dont know if they cook with a lot of spice but it really affected our stomach. To be on the beach there was barely any sea food so on our last day at this resort we decided to eat outside of the hotel. The dessert is the same everyday and the drinks menu is the same everyday and to say its all inclusive you have someone bothering you to sign a room number slip when your eating I must say the restaurant staff is very courteous and friendly and they are right there to serve you. There is this one woman name Ana that is a supervisor that speaks english well that gives superb service and another dude name Eddie that smiles everytime he comes to your table. Now to the amenities the best thing about this hotel is the pool the beach is really crappy and mosquito and sandfly haven. The most annoying part of this hotel and I think its very unfair they allow outside visitors to come spend a day at the hotel if they would pay a fee and enjoy the same amenities as the guest paying 88us per person a night they come and eat out the buffet and they just take up all the space and tables in the hotel just disgusting. I dont know if I would ever return to this hotel because you really do not get value for money

I stay at this place for a weekend, with my family, the place is good and clean, but the staff is terrible, service was poor, they look like you are asking for free stuf when you already pay for all, it isn't cheep, one of the staff members, Karla I think it was her name, disrespect my wife cuz she was from Mexico and made ugly comments, this people need to lern a lot about customer service, I won't recommend this place to nobody.

The place has everything you need for a perfect vacation, starting with a great location in the bay of Tela. The facilities are new and well kept, friendly staff, near the town of Tela, great pool, good food, it is an all inclusive type of accomodation. I am not normally attracted to all inclusive places, but this one works very well. I go there every time I have a chance.

Me and a couple of my friends visited that hotel for one day and stayed overnight on our way to northern Honduras. Rooms was okay, the pool and the territory also kept well. No nice white-sand-like beaches (keep that in mind!) around that area. The atmosphere during the evening and night was boring, no events (probably due to low season). Also there is no any kind of good restaurants (even for extra money) or nice bras and discos. The resort is totally fenced around and there is no attractions you can go to.

Room Tip: Rooms for 1-2 persons have internal door to another room. It`s locked, but you can hear every whispe...

The restaurant/buffet staff served my wife a glass of bleach water instead of the ice water that we had ordered. The night manager assured us that they would rectify matters After she spent the night vomiting with chemical burns, the head manager denied that the matter had ocurred and said that it was not the fault of the hotel. He indicated that the hotel did not use bleach to clean the restaurant or kitchen. I told him that i would not be paying for the night that i spent caring for my sick wife and he said that the best the hotel could do was offer a 10% discount. Ofcourse my credit card compnay, like any respectable business, did not honor the charge for that night.

This guy is a coward and a liar. He is the typical 3rd world mid level manager puke who odesnt really care about his guests, just the power play of being in charge. This hotel management is a disgrace to the hard working staff at La Ensenada that do a good job of trying to keep the place enjoyable.

The 5 days spent at the Ensenada Beach Resort was very nice and relaxing. The 2 bedroom suite we had was vey spacious, clean and beautiful. The landscape was charming and well kept. The staff went out of their way to be very accommodating. Special thanks to Anna, Maxx, Dennis, and Chef Adrian for their attentiveness. Thanks Mario, for your help in creating great new memories for my friend’s, parents’ 50th wedding anniversary celebration. My time there was fun, yet tranquil.
