We had been recommended this place on our last visit to the Gambia, but never got the chance to check it out. We made sure not to miss it this time! We went there for lunch, and we enjoyed everything about the place. The atmosphere, the friendly manager, the smiling staff, the music and of course the food!
You have the choice to sit outside in the little garden, or inside with A/C to cool you down, and a wide selection of art and beautiful things, all for sale.
We were given a table by a friendly waiter, wet towels to freshen up (smelled lovely) and the menu before he left. As my husband took a bit time to find out what he wanted to eat, the staff offered him a dinner menu (lunch and dinner menu is not the same) and he could pick whatever he wanted.
As it was lunch time, we did not order any wine, but their wine list and cocktail menu looked like a good start on an evening out. They also had a big selection of non-alcoholic drinks. I had the Citron Presse and my hubby the Ginger Cooler. Both tasty and refreshing!
Our starters came, the Thai Fish cakes were lovely, and so was the Coconut prawns! My husband had ordered the Pepper Steak, and I had a burger. Both mains were tasty, cooked well, and served not long after our starter had been cleared.
As we were full from the food we decided to share a cake and orderer the Mud Pie and coffee on the side.
While we waited for the cake, the manager came over to the table and asked if everything had been ok with the meal. We had nothing to complain about, so instead we had a quick chat about the place.
During our lunch several people had been in getting take away, so it must be a popular place for the local expat community. We will make sure to visit again, but will try it at dinner time then!
