“Stopover after cruise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

We reserved a room for the day at Manava while waiting for a flight home after a cruise. We found the resort to have a quiet setting with a beautiful pool & view. The room we had was a suite was fine but smelled musty with not enough lighting. There is one restaurant & bar located at the resort. The meal we had was good and was not overpriced. If you want to go into town the resort has a shuttle or you can take a cab. If you are looking for quiet with a great view this a a good place.

3 nights before leaving on the Aranui3 and 1 night on way back to catch flight home. Very large garden suite which was great. Staff more than friendly and able to answer all our queries. The pool superb to soak in as it was very hot and sunny. We had 2 meals in the restaurant which we really enjoyed. Good Spagetti Bolognaise in a French bistro. A Mitai by the pool is so refreshing and if the chance came again I would certainly choose to stay at The Manava.

Room Tip: 2001 garden suite was private and quite.

The front desk staff were lovely, and almost all of the staff at the resort were friendly, even those who didn't know much English (we didn't know any French). The pool and beach areas were lovely for relaxing and swimming and we were delighted with our suites size and facilities. The only thing that really tarnished our stay was our experience dining at the restaurant. The waitress made a mistake taking our order and brought out the wrong meal, but instead of being apologetic or helpful she was quite rude about it and tried to make it our fault. This was quite disappointing, given most of the other staff at the restaurant had been lovely and helpful. As a result we got our remaining meals from the local Roulettes and food stores which to be honest were just as delicious if not better and a quarter of the price.

Room Tip: There is a little grocery store a short walk down the road which is an excellent place to buy food f...

We stayed here 1 night and were really pleased we did. We caught a pre-organised shuttle bus from the airport, checked in easily enough without being able to speak French. Our room was more like a small apartment with a kitchenette, big bathroom with double basins, bath and large shower. The bed was huge and comfortable. Slept to the sound of waves crashing onto the reef which was relaxing. We had a terrace that faced the ocean. Had an early morning swim in the beautiful infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Breakfast was the usual buffet- the garlic beans were yum! Only having 1 night we didn't see the surrounding area so can't say if it's a good location for a longer stay, but it was about 10 - 15 min from airport. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: We had room 5007 on ground floor, with terrace facing the ocean.

This truly is a lovely spot to stay. My only wish was that I had paid more attention and become bilingual before landing in this idyllic spot of paradise. They speak fluent french. We did not want to close the glass doors at night in order to hear the continuous surf at night and look out over the stunning infinity pool that kissed the ocean shores overlooking the island of Moorea. WOW!! What a view. The staff were very friendly regardless of the fact that they could not speak english. A very well kept resort with excellent food and ambiance. A definite return.

Room Tip: Not a long drive from the airport. But If looking for the " huts" over the water this is...

We too got suckered in by the great reviews, and decided to stay here for two nights at the conclusion of a five week US&Bora Bora trip.

After the 10 minute $25 taxi ride here from the airport (most profitable place in the world for this occupation), we were greeted by friendly enough reception staff and checked in to room 1110. I was a little confused when he told us the room was situated just above the restaurant by the lobby, as I could see all the other suites branching off towards the pool in the rear of the property in separate buildings.

We made our way up via the elevator, crossed the upstairs landing, but then couldn't figure out where the room was. Of course, it was through the swinging galley doors which we'd mistaken for the staff entrance to the kitchen or staff quarters - it really is tucked in to one of the recesses of the Hotel. On we marched to our tiny room with magnificent views of...the road and parking lot.

We've been here one night of two, delirious from sleep deprivation, as all we could hear all night long was traffic from the road, patrons from the bar, roulottes, or the night shift reception staff sitting below our window chatting, smoking and carrying on until the sun came up. Seriously, these windows must be made of paper. Every single sound was amplified through this room.

For our money, the pool (which every reviewer raves about) can't offset the most ordinary room and location we've been accommodated in.

Room Tip: Stay away from any rooms beginning with 1xxx - specify this when booking.

This is my second stay at this hotel. Only got to be there a short time last time so added extra time this trip. This is the most beautiful and well designed pool and in all our travels, one of our favorites. It is not too deep , not too shallow and is an ifinity pool with a tremendous view of Moorea across the sea. Could spend a lot of time here!! The room was awesome with a private balcony and ocean view. Also a small kitchen. Would recommend upgrading to this. The design of the rooms is unique and beautiful with a modern/polynesian theme. There is a restaurant on site but didn't eat here so can't really say anything about it. The bar does serve hamburgers and other light fare and it was good. Or you could just walk down the street to a small pier and use the food trucks with different options. The crepes were delicious!!! If you want to go into the city or eat elsewhere will need to get a taxi. Is not a mega resort and liked the feel and design of the rooms. There is a walkway where you can go out and watch the sunset but very limited on chairs. Still great place to read or just relax. Front desk very nice and exchanged $$ for us at current rate All around very nice experience and I would highly recommend this hotel..

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite with an ocean view. Well worth it.
