“Wonderful guesthouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

We spent 3 nights here and loved everything about it. Brigitte was a wonderful host and offered advice on things to do on the island. She arranged a tour of a local, family owned vanilla plantation for us [ highly recommend La Vallee de la Vanille ]. The grounds of the guesthouse are very well maintained, beautiful swimming pool, great décor touches, beach chairs, book exchange, reliable wifi, free bikes to use. We stayed in the room in the main house - very large and comfortable. There is the option to have dinner on the veranda at the guesthouse, which we did one evening and the local cook prepares a delicious meal that could belong in any fancy restaurant around the world. All in all, a wonderful, luxury stay! Thank you Brigitte and staff!

We wish we could of spent more time here. This was the last stop on our 3 week journey in French Polynesia. The further away we got from Tahiti, the more remote the islands were and the more cultural they were. We spent 3 days at Fare Pea Iti and our fantastic experience started as we stepped off the plane and onto the boat- and I mean literally. The boat ride to the place is about 20 minutes or so, what a great way to see the island. Pulling up to the dock in front of our little bungalow on the beach was amazing. Brigitte is fantastic- so accomodating. We wanted to rent a car one morning but they were all booked- so Brigitte suggested a motorbike, we thought "why not!" She mapped out a route and we met so many great local people as we drove the island. She also arranged a boat trip to the coral gardens- fabulous!!! Meals are also terrific. If you want peacefulness and non touristy- this is the place- experience real French Polynesia!

We just came back from French Polynesia where we spent our honeymoon. We were at Fare Pea Iti for 2 nights, and we wish we could have stayed more ! This luxury guesthouse is like a little piece of heaven. Our garden bungalow was extremely clean and well furnished/decorated. The food was amazing as other travellers said, breakfast and halfboard are served in a very romantic patio overlooking the lovely swimming pool, we especially loved our candlelight dinners and the Julio Iglesias music ! Anyway, I have to say the thing we loved the most about this place is the way we felt while we were there. We felt like we were the only two guests being there, Brigitte took such good care of us just as she does with every guest, we received a very personalized service. This is something that we didn't feel anywhere else, even in any luxury resort we have ever been to. For the first time we really felt a connection with the service members, we felt like they really were interested in making us happy and not just for the money. Finally, it felt so nice to be treated, it's such a rare thing. We would defiitely go back to Fare Pea !

My husband and I just got back from two weeks in French Polynesia. After 10 days of self catering in Moorea and Huahine, we came to Fare Pea Iti for 4 days of restful luxury. And if that's what you are looking for too, we can recommend this lovely spot without hesitation. Our bungalow was gorgeous, all dark woods and white linens, and right on the beach. A fridge, hotplate and microwave were also provided in the kitchenette area. The bungalows were all nicely separated from each other so it felt very private (Many bungalows at other places seem too close together for my liking). The food here was a real highlight, the meals were beautifully prepared ( I'm a Montrealer, so I feel like i know something about good food :-) These dinners were three courses with tasteful combinations - on the third night we actually got to eat our catch from our morning fishing trip, which was Served beautifully with a fresh vegetable salad and French wine, by a delightful cheerful staff. Brigitte who runs the place is an amazing woman, she arranged everything and made us feel like guests in her home rather than clients. Her staff were the same- really seemed happy to share their lovely island with us. We were even welcomed into the kitchen to check out how some of the dishes were being prepared. In terms of activities, you can arrange trips with Brigitte or do your own thing. Independently, we borrowed Brigitte's bikes to visit the town of Patio (really small, but has a couple of food shops, a post office and the island's only ATM!!) then we biked to the vanilla farm (about 45 mins each way - brief tour but really interesting!). Brigitte arranged our snorkeling trip to the coral garden, about 20 minutes away by boat (it's on the same motu as the fancy le Tahaa hotel.) This outing was such a highlight, with some of the clearest water we saw on our trip, gorgeous coral and many many colorful fish. Our boat driver and guide was also the one who took us fishing along the coast the next morning, and helped us ensure that tasty meal! In sum, I'd say Brigitte has built a very special oasis at Fare Pea Iti, and you should not hesitate to book with her for your trip to Tahaa, whether its your honeymoon or just a well deserved vacation.

If you want privacy, luxury, attendance to every detail, great food and romance, STAY HERE! We cannot say enough about the prefection Brigette has achieved at her small (4 bungalow) resort. Ask for a custom made private tour by boat, a must! Don't bother eating out.....Brigette's cook is fabulous! Book the corner round table, with a view of the beautiful pool and beach beyond. Free WiFi if you insist on keeping in touch.....though you won't want to once you sample the accomodations...did we tell you about the mosquito netted draped bed? The most beautiful bed we've ever slept in!

Room Tip: bungalow on the beach is best

We just spent the best days of our life. The welcoming by brigit was amazing. The beach bungalow we staid in was above our expectation. Birgit arranged us a buggy and dive excursion which was the best! We explored the island with our amazingly fast buggy and after this we finished the day with à great dive and some awesome snorkeling.

We highly Recommend this small romantic heaven!,

Greetings From a beautiful and relax bounty island named Tahaa

My wife and I just returned after a week at Fare Pea Iti. It was one of the best travel experiences we've had. This is one of the best places on Tahaa. Brigitte makes you feel welcome and is there for anything you need. It’s her special place and you can feel the personal care and attention she’s put into every detail of this resort. Get away from those 300 room hotels with the pool aerobics classes and daily activities list. (But if you ARE looking for that type of a location, this would not be the place for you.)

3 very nice beach bungalows 25 feet from the water. Very well appointed with authentic island touches, but with all the conveniences. Each has its own section of beach with lots of palm trees and flowers. Looks out over the Tahaa lagoon at the barrier motus, and a great view of Bora Bora. Very roomy with a romantic bedroom that opens onto a large covered veranda that is perfect for taking a break from the sun, or watching the squalls pass by in cozy comfort. The veranda is also where those most excellent breakfast trays that Alphonse makes and brings out each morning are served. In the evening, a nice place to end the day with an after dinner drink and conversation with your special person before bedtime.

The main house has a small library with an Internet station. Dinners are served each evening here in a group setting. Alphone and Brigitte prepare delicious local dishes each night- we looked forward to our dinners each day. We don’t speak any other language beside English, but we met some very nice people from France and Belgium (everyone speaks English it seems) and enjoyed getting to know them and sharing dinner conversation with them. Brigitte speaks English very well and took great care of us and made us feel very welcome always.

Brigitte knows the island and will find the right local people to help you do whatever type of exploring you want to do on the island. Brigitte and Teva took us out to the coral gardens themselves where we snorkeled in the best waters we’ve every snorkeled in. Be sure to ask them to arrange this for you - it’s a very nice event.

My wife and I enjoyed our week’s stay thoroughly. We enjoyed meeting Brigitte, Alphonse, and Teva and will remember them and their kindness and hospitality for a long time. We wish we could have stayed there longer.

Please contact me if I can answer any questions or provide more details about our stay.
