“Relaxing and away from it all”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

A relaxing stay away from it all with beautiful views. Our package included airport transfers which was good value as it is a 3 hour drive from Nadi.
Our garden room was clean and well presented, with mini bar. The Day Spa was very pleasant with friendly staff and professional services/products. Restaurant meals did vary and were reasonably priced. Service was friendly and meals were served in a timely way, cocktails were strong! Breakfast included hot options daily. Daily entertainment was enjoyed.
Grounds were pretty and well maintained. We dived, and took a snorkeling tour. Snorkeling tour was well organised and safely run. Diving was excellent however more effort could be made to understand the interests of divers on arrival.
The only negative of our stay was the maintenance of the pool water, too many chemicals.

Room Tip: Garden room was very pleasant

We travelled to Wananavu beach resort as we are getting married there in April this year and we wanted to do some "recon" before the wedding. We loved it so much, that my hubby to be and I want to return year after year.

Everyone at Wananavu is lovely and friendly and we felt so welcome, we had the best holiday. There are two bands who alternate with each other and they serenade the guests during lunch and dinner, which is fantastic.

There is so much to do at Wananavu, and a lot of free activities. We snorkelled mostly every day, went for a kayak, swam in the pool. It was oh so relaxing! The paid activities are reasonable and worth doing as well. We also caught a boat over to another island and went for a walk through the jungle and snorkelled at the beach. We also did a tour at a village, which was fantastic, and a great cultural learning experience.

The resort is a 2 1/2 hour drive from the airport. I'm not a good car traveller I usually get carsick, but I didn't on this ride. There is so much to see whilst driving to the resort, and our driver was so friendly we spoke to us about Fijian culture and history which made the trip go fast. The experience at Wananavu makes the car trip worth it.

During our stay we had a lovo night which included traditional singing and dancing, which was fantastic. There are also daily activities, such as a cultural talk, coconut presentation and herbal medicine talk, which was really interesting.

Staying at Wananavu and what a great place. Nice location nice food. Walk a few metres to the water. Food last night was seriously good and the staff helpful and pleasant. A band played at lunch and another at dinner. We hired a two bedroom beachfront villa with a kitchen. It is private and looks straight down onto a small beach.
I've been to Fiji many times and stayed in many places but will return here.
We hired a 4WD as I know what the roads can be like. However, there appears to be a serious effort going in to improve the overall roading system. Suggest it best to take the free transfer from the airport and hire a vehicle once here especially as the Rakiraki bridge is closed with a detour in place.
Please take into consideration this is a relatively isolated place on an island in the middle of the Pacific. Things are not always perfect but this place is beautiful and very relaxing.

We spent a week here over the new year period and loved it! The staff are so friendly and the grounds are beautiful. Had a great massage at the day spa, and recommend buying the amazing Pure Fiji products while your here, they were cheaper than other places. We really enjoyed the free activities, even managed to play some tennis early in the morning.

Couldn't recommend the snorkelling trip more, it was awesome! Oh and the cocktails are awesome.

located in a beautiful, scenic part of the country. great diving spot (from what others tell me). The staff are very helpful. However, the rooms are average and the resort has no real beach. so, a family of 4 would have to pay 40 FJD each (160 total) for a roundtrip boat tide to one of the islands nearby to enjoy the beach. not worth it in my view.

Absolutely amazing the place is stunning, if you want a relaxing break you need to come here. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave you are made to feel so welcome the staff cannot do enough for you, the rooms are lovely if you want a good view get a bure facing the beach. The hotel provides plenty of daily activities if you do get bored of relaxing around the pool or on the beach, would reccommed the Waterfall Tour as you get to experience the 'real' Fiji. Couple of negatives, the journey there from the airport is a long 3 hour drive and there's nothing nearby if you want to pop to the shops. The menu is a bit repetitive and apart from the daily specials the lunch and dinner menu are the same, however the free continental breakfasts are great especially the from the cooked menu.

We stayed here in February 2014 for our honeymoon. We had the ocean view honeymoon bure and it was beautiful! We were perched right on the hill and had an amazing view of the resort and the beach and beyond! We loved waking up to those views in the morning and watching the sun set every evening! Food was amazing and menu was always changing to keep variety and options! The staff were wonderful and made our whole stay so enjoyable and made us feel right at home. Bure was immaculate and visually stunning and we loved the indoor/outdoor shower! Definitely take up the chance to do the day trip picnic to the island near by - beautiful snorkelling. I can't recommend this resort enough and I can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Definitely recommend the ocean view honeymoon bure! it was well worth the extra $$$ and was close to...
