“Amazing!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

Choosing wananavu for our wedding was one of the best decisions we have made

From the very first point of contact to the day we left the resort the staff were amazing, especially keleni who we dealt with the most

Over 18 months of planning, a week here was not quite long enough

We had 30 of our closest friends and family stay at wananavu and everyone had a good time, even with 4 days of rain

The planning process was so easy and all the staff were very friendly, professional, welcoming and happy

It was a stress free process, the rain even stopped at the right times for the wedding as staff predicted it perfectly

The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious

There was plenty of variety with choices of food (which is rare to find on a meal plan)

The entertainment nightly was an added bonus with a band every night

Wananavu makes you feel relaxed and "fiji time" is something we adjusted to a little too easily

With plenty of activities to do, a perfect view and amazing staff I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for somewhere peaceful and relaxing to go

Myself and my boyfriend arrived at Wananavu with friendly faces and helpful smiles.
We came to Wananavu to do some diving and it was a fantastic place to do it. Not only was the resort amazing but also the dive shop which is onsite.
The beds were amazingly comfortable, clean, quiet rooms with massive bathrooms and hot showers which were looked after every day.
The food was fantastic and the breakfast was the best Ive had in Fiji.
I highly recommend staying at Wananavu Beach Resort and we thoroughly enjoyd our stay

Me and my friend recently had a trip to Fiji during the holiday. When we firstly make a plan for the trip, we were not sure which part of Fiji is "the best place". We defined "the best place" as somewhere very unique, unknown and magnificent. Middle of our research we found Wananave beach resort it is the place we could expect something uniqueness on the location, and service. and it was actually great ! the staffs were so thoughtful and friendly all the time. I really enjoyed the Fijian night !! every Saturday night there is program called Fijian night. We can enjoy Fijian style buffet and traditional performances! Also me and my friend had a introductory scuba diving which you can do scuba diving without any diving certificate but it requires some time to be familiar with how to use the equipment or how you deal with the pressure when you dive under the sea. I guarantee that you will see the greatness of the nature. Overall the resort was just "the best place" for me in Fiji trip.

Faultless slice of paradise - accommodation, staff, meals, cocktails, location....just amazing. So relaxing, everything you could possibly want in a tropical island resort. Staff so friendly and helpful. Sigh...want to move in!

Room Tip: Anywhere you stay is fabulous here!

This is my first review on TripAdvisor after using the site for years for information etc. I travel through Australia a lot for work but have never been motivated to write a review till we stayed at the beautiful Wananavu Beach Resort, Fiji.

We booked in for 6 nights at Wananavu in a beach front bure for our pre-honeymoon in November. We decided to get away the weeks leading up to our wedding to relax, unwind and make sure we are ready for the big day. With a big thanks to the staff, location, food, diving and the activities we certainly achieved that goal.

Rooms:
We were in a beach front bure but to be honest the ocean view rooms looked just as nice out of the back deck. There is a white sand man-made ‘beach’ out the front of the room with hammocks to lie under the coconuts on – don’t go into it expecting an Australian beach, it is all ex-mangrove. Nice big comfy bed, big bathroom with generous shower with a glass window to a private garden. Best part is no TV – PERFECT! The room staff were excellent, placing fresh flowers in the room prior to arrival.

Service:
Wow, just wow. I know the Fijian people are known to be friendly and very welcoming to visitors, but the staff at Wananavu were just amazing! To the point that we got to the second resort of our Fiji holiday and both looked at each other after an hour and wished we could go back to the Wananavu service. By the second day everyone knew our name and would greet you with a big smile and Bula/Yadra Simon! All of the staff really went out of their way to make our stay perfect and relaxing.

Food:
We got the meal package which includes breakfast, 2 course lunch and 3 course dinner. The only negative I could say about the food is that you will put on weight! Every day the menu is different and everything we had in the 6 nights was beautiful! Yes, that is 6 nights with 6 courses a day – all tasty, beautifully presented and quick! The portions are right, just make sure you make the most of the activities to work up an appetite.
Every day there is a happy hour with well priced cocktails, and each day there is a cocktail of the day for happy hour price all night. Just be careful with the daily special – a few will floor you as they don’t skimp on the alcohol.

Activities:
This is the winner of the trip! Ebalony (very sorry for the spelling!) ran the activities hut while we were there and the man has a wealth of knowledge! He did cultural talks, native medicine etc. He has such a friendly smile and worked so hard to make our stay enjoyable, including running around the mangroves collecting hermit crabs so we could have a crab race.
We joined an afternoon trip to the village and he explained their culture, customs, history etc. We also did snorkelling (not bad at all straight off the marina),tennis, kayaking and a beach picnic a short boat trip away.

Diving:
I had a few dives pre-booked with the dive guys and ended up joining them for a night dive as well. This was the icing on the cake for me – a really great experience. The diving was fantastic, the soft corals are truly amazing. Was also visited by a turtle and a handful of sharks for good measure. Trevor and the dive boys (and girl) were fantastic – the epitome of princess diving. All gear on the boat for you, set up for you, once you get out of the water everything is done for you with a smile. They even took my GoPro for a dive so I could concentrate on photography.

The only downside of Wananavu is the length of drive from the airport to get there - BUT you get to go through the real Fiji and see locals going about their day selling fresh fish on the road, walking cows/goats etc. Long drive but a really good one.

Recommended for any couple – not a kids resort! Will definitely be back :-)

Room Tip: Ocean view are just as nice as beach front.

We stayed here in October for a wedding and it was wonderful. It is an extremely well appointed resort in a stunning location. The beachfront bures are lovely and it is such a nice feeling to wake up everyday with a view over the water. The staff were friendly helpful and attentive, the food was divine (so hard to decide what to have from the tempting menu) and the facilities of an extremely high standard. From the time we checked in to the time we left every second was enjoyable. The wedding itself was faultless - food, location, decorations, music etc etc There were enough activities to keep us busy for the week yet plenty of places to lounge and enjoy the 'real Fiji'. It is a long trip from the airport in Nadi but well worth it!

We had an absolutely amazing time at this beautiful resort! The staff were really a pleasure to talk to and the resort itself is beautiful, quiet and relaxing. The live music and frequent trips to the Kava bowl were a lot of fun and everyone staying there seemed to be really appreciating there stay as well. We stayed in one of the villas on the waters edge and the view was really stunning. We spent most of our days diving with the in house dive op, Dive Wananavu, who were also wonderful to spend time with. Afternoons were spent relaxing in the small but nice pool with a bucket of beers. The food was very good all of the time and sometimes bordered on excellence. There is not really any nightlife in the area and the resort is fairly quiet, so if you are looking for a party, this isn't the place. If you want incredible service, diving and tranquility, this is going to be one of your favorite stays.

We stayed at Wananavu in February of 2013 and I am just now getting around to writing this review.
