Friendly staff, great food, a clean and comfortable room, flower-scented air as you walk along the pathways, the rustle of palm fronds, wonderful bird song at dawn... this place is truly a slice of paradise. On their last night there the staff sings each guest a traditional Fijian farewell song. It was so lovely! Gentle, beautiful music with lunch and dinner every day.

My family and I stayed there for five magical days/nights from the 22/9/14 in Bure 40. Apparently one of two self contained bure's. The resort is just spectacular, along with the staff and especially the band who kept us smiling. The food was amazing and the manager Allan was constantly socializing with guests to make sure their stay was up to expectations and willing to help with any matter. As per the new Tourism Fiji adverts I think 'happiness found me there.' I haven't stopped recommending this resort to all my friends and family.

Room Tip: All bure's have ocean views but with all the activites your hardly ever in them. They all have...

Wow Wananavu what can we say! My new husband and I spent 10 magical days at your resort and could not have dreamed of a nicer place if we tried. The rooms are funky and exceptional well looked after, the beautifully cut fresh flowers daily, the gardens and resort grounds so tidy and well kept, the food was fantastic (most nights) the amount of food was amazing, the service and manner if all of the staff within the resort is what made out honeymoon. What a beautiful group of lovely happy, friendly, kind people that would do anything to put a smile on your face and make you'd stay a memorable one. From the waitresses, the bar staff, the ladies in the front desk, the band, the housekeepers, the maintenance/yard people you are all a wonderful group of people and make this place the amazing piece of paradise that it is.
There are so many things I want to write here the private island picnic lunch was the best, the snorkelling amazing. Go into Rakiraki town what a really great experience. The only thing I would suggest maybe adding a few different activities, and also the lovo pit feast night should be done atleast once a week we were really quite disappointed in missing out on that.
The only other thing that was quite disappointing was the manager what a shame. He walked around like a grumpy old am we said hello to him one night and he completely ignored us whilst storming through the restaurant with shorts a shirt and no shoes on. You could always hear him talking very rudely to the staff from the office behind the front desk. He has no client relation skills and if the owner has any sense whether he is friends with the manager or not seriously Grant you need to reconsider your management or atleast make him change the way he runs the staff and treats the guests.
Apart from that we will definitely return hopefully sooner rather than later. All the best to the beautiful staff and all of you lucky people coming here in the near future what a little piece of heaven. Miss you all lots already

2.5 hours north of either Nadi or Suva, You arrive being reassured that this is "the real Fiji". Having stayed in 9 Fijian resorts and at 4 other hotels over the last 12 years, I initially took this promise with a grain of salt. Guess what, with the exception of staying in one of the villages it probably is a close as one can get in terms of genuine warmth and hospitality. Our names and food/drink preferences were always remembered. Nothing was too difficult, and both the resort environment and the surrounding reefs were in fantastic shape. The resort has all the usual facilities, the Wai Spa is highly recommended, the dive operation is right up there with the worlds best ( and the reefs are sublime) the pool with it's own waterfall is almost excessive as there is the whole ocean at the door step. The rooms are superior if a little old fashioned, lots of wood, high ceilings with fans and air con. The bed was fantastic, the pillows are quite adequate. Like any tropical resort it doesn't take too much searching to find the odd mold stain, but you have to actually search. The kitchen does a superb job, and even when you've been out on the furthest reefs and it's taken more time to get back than anticipated, they will happily set you a place and deliver a nicely cooked meal in a trice. Ok the daily specials recycle on a weekly basis, but so what, they are worth revisiting. We highly recommend the meal plan, its well priced and has a lot of variety. If anything a bit too much food is offered, but when it tastes as good as this.....
On top of this there are 3 rotating bands thru the week, with a reincarnation of Louis Armstrong singing in one. There is a Fijian Meke one night, and the Fijians all sing like angels. Oh and Happy hour is well priced. Really what more could you want?

Room Tip: we had Bure 16 - with an ocean view and great privacy, there are better and more pricey rooms, but t...

We enjoyed Wananavu so much the first time that we had to return for a second stay. The grounds are beautiful and a good mix of enough activity and peaceful. We enjoyed great snorkeling trips and diving. There is a tennis court available for guests to use, nice beach, a freshwater pool, beachfront hammocks, and a beautiful grassy area you can walk out onto at night to have a gorgeous unobstructed view of the starry skies. There is no light pollution anywhere nearby, so it's really a spectacular sight.

We didn't spend a ton of time in the room, but it was comfortable, with air conditioning and fans, screened windows, spacious bathrooms with two sinks, and a well stocked mini-bar and french press. The bed was the least favorite feature of the room, with twin beds stuck together and passed off as a king. The flimsy pillows and beds caused me to wake up with a sore back every morning, but overall the relaxation and enjoyment overshadowed this and it quickly wore off.

The meals are good, but on the small side. I have a gluten allergy, and I was assured I was getting a gluten-free meal each time. I did not get sick from the food. The drinks are good. We really enjoyed the spa as well.

I highly recommend Wananavu to couples and families alike. It is spread out enough that even when there are plenty of kids, you don't have to be near them if you don't want to. The activities available are easily tailored to families, singles, or couples.

Room Tip: The oceanfront bures are not much more expensive than the others, and they are a really nice locatio...

Wananavu was a great choice for a week long trip with my daughter. We had a lovely 2 bedroom house on the beach which was roomy and really nice. The staff had arranged for her to visit several local schools while I went scuba diving and that worked out very well. The staff was terrific from Sam who met us at the airport, to Grace and Ani at the front desk, Trevor and Josh at the Dive Shop, Evalone who took us to a village, Allan the General Manager, (and Allan's cat) and all of the ladies who served our fantastic meals. My daughter sang with the excellent guitar band several nights, and we enjoyed the evening kava. Bula. We also had several good massages at the spa. Really good dive staff; Trevor, Josh, Keith (sp?) Joe the captain and guitarist, and Mary. Sorry if I forgot anyone. Great memories. Thanks for everything!

Room Tip: Beachfront rooms are the best, but if you want to save money, the oceanview rooms seemed really nice...

A group of us stayed here for one night only on our way back from Suva to Nadi. I could have stayed a week!. It is an adventure getting to the resort but once you conquer their driveway you arrive at a tranquil headland. The accommodation flows down the hillside to the beach, we stayed in ocean view rooms with awesome views, the beach rooms looked great as well, not over the top but everything you need.
The whole resort was well maintained and typically Fijian.
We had an excellent dinner and the prices were reasonable compared to some of the other more expensive resorts. The staff were fantastic and a lot of fun.
Was sorry I didn't have more time here and will definitely return one day to explore this area further.
