“Beautiful and relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

Super friendly place, everything was amazing, the hammocks are relaxing and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Lovely restaurant and staff. Out of the way location, but wasn't a problem as we were picked up at the resort for every day trip that we booked.

Room Tip: Beach view fare was lovely, with hammocks within easy access surrounded by lovely gardens.

This resort was fantastic. Family friendly and completely safe. Our kids were entertained with cards, pizza making classes, table tennis, basket and hat weaving. Our deluxe bure was great. It was one bedroom with kids beds in the lounge. We had TV if we wanted it, air con, and a look out to see from the window. We swam in the pool every day and ate all our meals in the restaurant at the resort. Food was yummy and delivered very promptly. Breakfast was a great selection of fresh fruit, smoothies, toast, and lots of other tempting goodies. We walked back from the restaurant each night to our room and counted the frogs with a torch. We found 65 one night. If you like piece and quiet away from the big resorts, this place is for you.We traveled to Lautoka for a day on the open air bus which can be caught at the resorts gate. Lautoka was a bit dirty. Nandi was better for tourist shopping. The place to eat in Lautoka was the

This was our first time in Fiji and our first time staying in a hotel whilst on holiday. Usually we are independent travellers and take local accommodation so we were slightly apprehensive and in truth, a little cynical about what to expect. We needn't have worried. From the amazing welcome by the staff, to our Bure which was perfectly positioned next to the beach, we were blown away.

To regard First Landing as a 'resort' is a misnomer, it is a haven. Situated in a quiet region north of Nadi it is away from the hubbub of Nadi town and the corporate resorts. It is tranquil and feels part of the island with an unpretentious sense of exclusivity. The marina next door is a lovely place to visit where the bar is another great place to watch sunsets (they're everywhere)!

The facilities are excellent and the grounds are well and densely landscaped, sometimes it's hard to know there is other accommodation on site. The pool is fantastic and the bar is the hub of the place but never noisy. Tours and excursions were easily arranged through the excellent service on site with a lovely lady who always went the extra mile for us in organising custom made tours. In fact all of the staff were genuinely keen to help and were always smiling.

The sea was fine. At low tide there is some 50m of old reef before the shelf drops off and deepens. My wife tells me that this is a good place to snorkel but to ignore the sea lice which sometimes nibble a bit! Some reviewers didn't like that the tide went out and exposed the reef but when it does it makes pools at the reef edge full of tropical fish and a great place to walk. There are free kayaks and paddling in the mangroves nearby was idyllic.

Whilst the resort caters for families there was never any sense of kids running wild. The staff (and Fijians generally) love kids and there was a staff member who loved keeping them entertained all day, every day, as a group of friends. My 13yr old son loved it and my wife and I had time to ourselves. Tranquility was maintained.

Coming from the UK it's a long, long haul to get to Fiji but the journey to First Landing was worth it and we'll be back. Thank-you to Amanda and the staff for such a memorable time in a place better than we could imagine.

We arrived in Fiji on a yacht and came to First Landings via their attached Marina. The staff were friendly and helpful in our requirements and surprisingly prompt (for Fiji) in promised services.
Set in the usual tropical gardens, with well spaced villas, First landings looked like a great place to spend a relaxing few days.
The attached shops had all the tourist could need and friendly and obliging taxi drivers would whisk you off to Lautoka for more serious shopping.
Food in the Restaurant was good and reasonably priced, as were the drinks, we certainly enjoyed the homely atmosphere where staff made a great effort to know guests by name and give personal service.
On departing we had a lovely farewel where the bar staff sang us aa song and presented a small gift to the Captain.
For a simple and enjoyable break I would recommend First Landings, not pretentious but friendly.

I'm a pretty cynical dude so I always check out the negative reviews before booking anything. The very low ratio of moaners about First Landing boded well, and about half of those seemed to be from unrealistic, fussy or precious whiners. Seriously, if you're complaining about there being only 4 TV channels... So we booked and went and it was great.

The location pleasantly surprised me. It billed itself as having the vibe of an island resort on the mainland and it actually did. The nearby marina and industrial area may as well be on Mars.

There were people with young kids there and they probably had a good time but it seems to be to be more of a romantic retreat kind of place. We took our kids to bigger, more deliberately family-oriented places in Fiji when they were younger and that was great because those trips were all about them.

Service was impeccable. Food varied and high quality. The boatshed restaurant off the resort at the marina is definitely worth a 5 minute stroll. Don't trust the money changer at the marina though. Stereotype come to life that guy.

Definitely hit up the spa. Sega na leqa!!

I can't do anything but say how happy my gf and I were after staying at first landing. They were so helpful, friendly and accommodating, everyone was always smiling and we didn't have a single thing go wrong. We've already started discussing going back again simply to have a great relaxing time all over again.

First Landing resort is even better than what you imagine from the advertising. Breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. You can either swim in he ocean at high tide or the pool. There's plenty of activities on everyday for you to join in or you can just laze around or go on one of the tours. The ocean bures are amazing. The ladies make up your rooms everyday and leave flower messages on your bed! The gardens are immaculate. The food at the restaurant is to die for - especially the fish dishes. Every night there is local entertainment. Amanda and Darren and all the staff male you feel like family. Wish we had booked longer than 5 nights.
