There is no quandry on whether to stay at Salt Lake Lodge - YOU MUST JUST DO IT - if you are looking for a holiday for the mind and soul this is the place, if you are looking for nature, comfort for the body without being too naughty to the environment, this is the place, IT IS SPOTLESSLY clean, my partner caught a Walu - over 40 pounder, he is so happy. For me fishing is so BORING, but I was happy with the birdsong, sounds, sun, after the rain its glorious again, we are well travelled people but we didnt leave this place, why bother, we were laying in paradise. Do take plenty of mosquito repellant and good sub block. The self catering kitchen is so well equipped and there is salt and pepper, sugar and the basics there, just take goodies from the Supermarket in town, go and chill and enjoy. Sonja, Andrew and Ruby - wonderful hosts, but they are not part of your stay if you want solitude, so when I say hosts, you are not bothered at all, just they live close by and if you need anything they are there to ask, and always with a smile, and a chocolate cake if you are lucky - actually as Id read about Ruby's cooking I was cheeky enough to ask, oh and the crunchy cakes too .... perhaps commission her to do some of her legendary baking..... GREAT marine life at your feet! SCRUMPIOUS is the word which would cover our stay Caron (pus a bit of weight, and Doug)
