Beautiful! Brand New Main house is nice. We stayed in a Garden Bure and the Honeymoon Treehouse both of which were clean and very comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to do all that the could to make our stay fabulous. We had our wedding there on the beach. They provided Fijian minister, warriers and a choir to make our wedding cultural and traditional. All of the work that went into the wedding was thoughful and designed just as we requested. The food is amazing at the resort. Three meals a day! You will not go hundry. Even snacks were available in the afternoon between meals. If the rains came the staff shuffled activities around so that you still had fun each day and got to do everything on the menu of you chose to. Fiji is relaxed and slow paced. As long as you are too during your stay, you will truely enjoy the Islands! We'll be back! I missed the staff already :)

A ruined week was salvaged by the helpful, friendly, always cheerful staff at Koro Sun. There are as many activities as you want to keep you busy, a charming golf course, tennis courts complete with coconuts for target practice, mountain bikes for riding the island, a cinema, fantastic spa nestled among the waterfall and lush vegetation, diving, and daily activities including shopping and village trips. Or you can laze about and enjoy the grounds, the pool or your own plunge pool and read a book listening to the birds. The food was fantastic, as a former chef I was surprised by the quality of the food and enjoyed making my choices for each meal. Of course true to Fijis reputation. The friendliest people anywhere. I can't say enough about how at home they made me feel and truly concerned with my happiness and enjoyment of my time there.

I just recently stayed at Koro Sun with my husband celebrating our 20th anniversary. We decided to go to Fiji and Australia on Air Pacific because it was about 1/2 the price of Quantas. We did not care for Savu on the main island so we explored other options and SavuSavu on the North island was recommended. We chose Koro Sun Resort because it looked relaxing yet adventerous and it exceeded our expecations.

We stayed in a waterfront bungalow 2 story waterfront including a king bed, washer/dryer and ocean view windows on the floor. The food was all inclusive for a fair price. We were picked up at the airport, greeted w/ singing and had our feet bathed in coconut oil after a coconut scrub, which was wonderful after flying from Alaska.

The food was great-so much of it is from their gardens on the resort-fresh fruit and salad and great fish. Breakfast was delightful eggs benedict, fresh fruit and coffee all day long.

The rainforrest spa was delightful. You can get a banana leaf wrap, papaya facial and full 1 hour massage for about 125 dollars. The setting is lovely, in a rainforrest under a light waterfall-fantastic experience.

The snorkeling was fantastic-you can see lovely coral, rays, squids and even seasnakes if you look hard-it was a true adventure.

The people of Fiji are some of the nicest I have ever met after visiting nearly 50 countries, Fiji is on top of my list.

Bula Vinaka! My wife and I had our Wedding and Honeymoon at the Koro Sun resort this past November. It was our first trip to the South Pacific and we couldn't have been happier. What a remarkable find this resort was! Kudos to Cindy and the team at South Seas Adventures (our travel agent) for putting the trip together for us. Many thanks to Merlyn at the resort for going out of your way to make sure we had a wedding to remember!

First of all, I highly recommend staying on Vanua Levu, it's a bit more rural than Viti Levu and the pace of life is perfect for a romantic or relaxing getaway. The people are incredibly friendly everywhere you go, it was tough adjusting to life back in LA upon our return.

The room:
We stayed in an oceanview Bure. The room was spacious and well appointed. Very cool indoor/outdoor shower and the bed with the mosquito netting was a nice touch. The AC was an absolute necessity - it's quite hot and humid there in November. You can see and hear the ocean from the room, but it is across the street (and across the 9th hole of the golf course) from the actual water. Don't worry about the course, it doesn't see a lot of action (though it is quite fun and I played 3 rounds while we were there).

The resort and staff:
The clubhouse and resort grounds are very beautiful. They have a brand new clubhouse that always feels inviting. The activities really set the resort apart - and the reason is the incredible guides, especially Jone. We went kayaking to bat island (the island is amazing!), snorkeling, bike riding to a local village, hiking to the rainforest spa, and more. We planned all of our excursions on days when Jone was the guide, he really is an amazing person and will go the extra mile to make your trip special. Everyone there is fantastic though - I wish I could remember everyone's names but Anisa, Mili, and Mala were all extraordinary. The rainforest spa is beautiful - we had a couples massage as part of our package - what a way to start our trip. There isn't a real sandy beach per se, but if you ride one of their bikes just a few hundred yards down the road, a neighboring property will let you use their beach, and it's quite nice. The resort will even pack a lunch for you to take.

The food:
Probably my favorite part of the trip. The food was so incredibly fresh. Great fish, amazing fruit (be prepared to eat a lot of fruit), and the most amazing warm papaya soup. Of all the all-inclusive resorts I've stayed in, the Koro Sun really stands out for the food. Our time was split evenly between the 2 restaurants - they let you know where dinner is going to be early in the day. I miss waking up each morning and putting in my orders for the day!

Extras:
We had our wedding there and we couldn't believe how dedicated the staff was to making it special. They went above and beyond every step of the way. A ceremony was part of our package, but we were only expecting something very simple. It felt like the staff really took it upon themselves to make it special - like they were personally invested in it. First of all, Merlyn (the resort owner) arranged for us to have the ceremony in the most amazing of settings. Anisa was our official "planner" and she brought in the local officiants, planned the actual ceremony, and arranged the most amazing flowers - better than you can get from an expensive florist in the states! The night was capped off by a private dinner in the ocean-front restaurant. They surprised us by giving us our own wedding cake! A truly exceptional experience! Thank you so much!!!

Other:
I would have loved it if the resort had an area in the clubhouse with all the staffs' photos and names. They all remember your name immediately and it would have been nice to be able to do the same. We got some alcohol at the airport duty free when we landed. Drinks are not included at the resort as part of the all-inclusive package but really not that expensive when you factor in the exchange rate. Also - be sure to bring some reef shoes! Very important!!

Vinaka Vaka Levu!

We just stayed here for our honeymoon last month. The oceanview bures were not exactly ocean view and you had to walk across the street to get to the beach. The beach was not what you would envision as a place to lay out all day and get some sun (more rocks and coral than sand).

HOWEVER, the ocean-front villas were AMAZING with views and tons of space! The food was awesome (be prepared to eat a lot of fruit though). The activites are really what made this place a hit. Jone and Manu were the activity guides and they took us to villages, waterfalls, schools, even church. They were so informative and I feel like other resorts would not give you such an insight into the Fijian cultures as this one. I really felt that that experience is what made our trip outstanding.

Some tips: Buy alcohol at the airport when you get there. In town it is really expensive and it is not included in the price of the resort. Bring water shoes because the coral is sharp and it is impossible to walk around on bare feet. Bring an underwater camera for snorkeling. They have bug spray in the lodge so you shouldn' t need any. Sunscreen is also very expensive there. Make sure you go into town for a day and go shopping for masks, etc.

Bula,
It was my 60th birthday and my dream was to spend it in Fiji with my favorite cousin. The Koro Sun, all inclusive resort, was more than I could dream of. We were met with singing and a well-needed, complementary, foot massage before being shown our two-bedroom bure across from the golf course. Our view was spectacular; we could watch the setting sun from our patio. The "plunge pool" was an added plus and pleasant on those hot sunny days after a full day of activities.

The next day's menus were placed in our room the night before. At breakfast we chose what three course "special" we wanted for lunch and dinner. The cuisine was gourmet, fresh, flavorful and attractively served in the new dining room overlooking the pool. Menu items included seafood, lobster, beef, chicken, fresh vegetables, salads, fruit, and homemade deserts with complementary tea and coffee. One evening they invited us to go "shrimping" in the creek that runs through the property. The next day we had the shrimp for lunch.

Every employee was more than friendly and obliging. Each one called us by name (darn if we could remember most of theirs). There were activities galore, a list was posted in reception every day, and all we had to do was show up. Kayaks, snorkels, and bicycles were available anytime we wanted to use them. The Waterfall and Salt Lake Kayak trips were included in our package, which gave us an attention-grabbing view into the true, raw, untouched Fiji. Both are highly recommended.

The manager, Cathleen, introduced herself the first day. She was a wealth of information on the background of the Koro Sun, Fijian customs, history and more. When she found out it was my birthday she planned a special surprise. We were driven up to the top of the mountain behind the resort to the owner’s house where she had lunch and a bottle of bubbly set up for us on the patio. She offered us the use of the pool and all amenities for the afternoon. It was more than marvelous. The owner’s house and all the villas are available for rent if you are planning a special occasion.

I really enjoyed being away from any other resorts or tourists, having the place to ourselves and being treated like family by the staff. I would recommend the Koro Sun Resort to anyone who wants a remote, comfortable, and private vacation to dally away the days. I have to thank Leanne with Journey Pacific who helped us put this together for a great price.

Sota tale (see you again)
