“Best hotel i have stayed in”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

Ok looking at the outside lit up in red neon made my heart sink a little but then the opulance of the foyer, the flower garlands and the welcome drink as we were checking in made for a great start. The rooms are adequate not five star in my view more of a 3-4 star hotel. Rooms were tended well. The food is absolutly outstanding. We ate in the main restaurant most days and the staff in there were fab. Azim in particular was great with my son. We gave a tip to a couplf od the staff early on and hte service got even better (didnt think that was possible!) we were introduced to the managers of the a la carte restaurants and made our way round them (with our 5 year old in tow) we couldnt make our mind up what we wanted in the egyptian one so the manager offered somethign of everything so we could share). I am normally a tight tipper but i believe i spent around £70 in tips during our weeks stay. The grounds are simply immaculate, (watch out for the load lawnmower like noise as they fumigate the hedges every day), the pools were great 30 degrees in the main one) but this was unfortunately tempered by the cold wind that froze you as you got out of it on all bar one of the days where there was no wind). The sea was fab, and i loved the signs you can hang off of the sun shades to ask not to be bothered by authorised vendors on the beach. Dive center was nice and the staff good. One boat dive done off site was great also. We have been on holidays before where we would like to go back to the same area, this is hte first hotel i have stayed in where we are considering making it an annual trip during the feb half term! its that good!

Room Tip: We stayed in the block of rooms in a terrace near the pool bar between the main entrance and hte spa...

I was a little apprehensive in general about going to Egypt and what to expect, but I should not have worried. After we landed from a good flight, we joined the others in a que that had just landed. As even if you do not require a visa you still have to get your passport stamped prior to security.
The Hotel is around 15 mins transfer and during the transfer you pass through a few road barrier security controls along the way.
On arrival at the hotel we were greated by traditional drummer men and management team. We were given a garland, cocktail and a welcomed cool flannel prior to checking in. The checking in process was quick and then we made our way to our room (273).
The room was towards the end of the block and double doors leading to the quiet fresh sea water pool (unheated).
The room was really lovely, cool and clean, with fresh fruit and local biscuits laid out for us. The fridge was stocked every day with a few cans of pepsi etc and a couple bottles of beer. The bathroom was clean, tidy and adequate. Clean white bathrobes available for use during your stay and flipflops also.
The first night I was unable to sleep as I found the bed /pillow quite hard, but one call to the reception and I requested a mattress topper and softer pillows and slept brilliantly after that.
The Cleaner for our room was named Saied and he was very freindly and helpful always checking if everything was to our satisfaction and wishing us a good day.
The heated main pool was lovely and the bar staff very good always chatting and providing nuts/crisps along with your favorite drink. All the staff are very freindy at the Baron and if you ask a question or need anything they can not do enough for you. The garderners work very hard always cutting/spraying pruning and always give you a wave as you walk past.
The food was good, we ate at the indian, the pool Resturant and the main dining area all very nice especially liked my omeletes in the morning with the beef bacon yum yum. All the resturant areas are run with speed and pricision to allow to cater for many, but waiters always had a smile for you and always enquired if everthing was ok.
The beach and the fish that you can see off the jetty is amazing along with the beach bar and service again being so good.
The animation team worked hard, but espeacially Zeno, he was fantastic and a credit to the Baron resort. He always got everyone involved if they wanted too and remembered everyones names, he made our holiday a special one to remember.

We loved the Baron Resort and are already planning a return in October but taking the daughter with us this time.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are the best option. Lovely view of Tiran Island.

My husband &i have just returned from a weeks holiday at the baron resort, we enjoyed every day , from getting up till going to bed, the staff at breakfast were very good , on the beach was brilliant, they lay the towel on the bed , then later they spray nice cold water on your very hot feet, plus they come round with icey cold flannels to cool you down, and you don't need to go to the pool bar , they come to you, the staff through out the hotel were all very good and can't do enough for you, we will deffinently go back & we would recommend this hotel to anyone, Two years ago we stayed at the Savoy hotel it was beautiful a top hotel there were three couples and the three men all got the tummy bug and were very Ill for weeks, so I don't think you can blame the food we were eating the same meals, but staying at the Baron we were fine no upset tummys , so definetly not the food , I blame water/ ice cubes, so just be careful use bottled water for teeth ect,

The Baron is an excellent resort with friendly staff and a high service ethic. The food was of a good standard - well above the usual all inclusive fayre standards. The hotel was only 57% occupied so there was no concerns re sunbeds etc and even when full it is on a big plot so I wouldn't imagine it feels too busy.
The restaurants were all good - only the pizzas were poor!!
The Beach bar is great and the beach itself is fabulous - wide with nice "soft" sand.
The rooms are a great size - we had a garden view twin which overlooked the well maintained gardens. The plus was it was quiet and private and benefited from evening sun.
The all inclusive wine is poor but you can have the better quality "Obelisk" in the Italian and Indian restaurants within premium all inclusive. The entertainment staff were great and also the girl ( whose name I didn't get ) on the Beach bar was lovely.
All in all I would not hesitate to recommend the Baron - it is like a secret hideaway. My friend and I joke that the logo is very dated and is the website which are not representative of the quality of the hotel. The hotel is not "trendy modern" - the rooms' appearance are a little dated but IMMACULATELY maintained and very homely. I wish the management all the luck as this hotel deserves it's spot on the trip advisor hall of fame.

Room Tip: Dobt be put off by garden view rooms as long as they are away from the min reception - couldn't...

We have just returned from a week away at the Baron Resort in Sharm. The weather was very nice, a bit of wind was welcomed however cant grumble.
The resort does not look great from the outside, the sign looks like it should be over a big top however we checked in and were showed to our room. The view was great, the room was clean and had just had a few touches of paint done as I found out when I touched the wardrobe door.
The bathroom was not a highlight however it was clean it did need a bit of TLC to bring it up to their billing of 5 star.
The buffet restaurant was similsr to that all over the world however the fresh juice and honeycomb at breakfast was a nice addition.
The other restaurants (only tried three of them) were rated as follows, Indian - Not great, I like a nice curry however this was not. Italian - excellent, went twice in the week, book early. Poolside BBQ/Fish restaurant - very nice, good service, fresh food. It did blow a gale that evening however we enjoyed the food. The lobby bar has very slow service, all I want to say about that.
Just to sum up, the hotel is good, beach is excellent, Dive centre is very excellent, the boulevard gives you an opportunity to have a stroll and try your hand at getting a bargain and have an all inclusive drink at a couple of places on the way, annimation team is soft, not in your face, a no thank you normally does the trick.
Would I go back? Probably not, I have been there and the price for a week was steep but premium drinks does make up a little. The staff were friendly and helpful, the beach bar is great, relaxed and a nice place to relax. The pool bar at lunce is great, no need to go to the buffet at all.
I could go on but I think you get what I mean.

Room Tip: Go for a high sea view room away from reception and do the premium all inclusive package.

Just returned from a great stay at the Baron Resort, the reviews are not wrong. Great location on a lovely wide sandy beach.Staff are so friendly and helpful always smiling. Food is fantastic, lots of choice, themed evenings and the al a carte restaurants should not be missed .Rooms are large but the bathrooms a little small but are very clean. All the grounds are neat and tidy and well maintained the toilets are the cleanest hotel toilets I have seen they have fragranced oil burners in them and they smell lovely , the pool area is nice and not crowded and even the loungers and umbrellas on the beach are well spaced out. This is the best egyptian hotel I have been to and shall definately be going back next year.

Room Tip: top floor rooms in the diamond block have the best sea views

We were greeted with welcoming smiles and they were there all week. The staff were friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble, even cleaning your sunglasses and cooling your feet when around the pool! and the whole hotel,: rooms, dining areas, bars, pool areas, gardens and toilets were always clean and tidy. There was always a good selection of food - something for everyone. We were disappointed with the Gala Dinner at the Baron Palms next door. The only criticism is that the toilets at the Spa, Reception and Dining Room were a long walk from the beach bar and Indian restaurant. We certainly would return for another holiday.
