“Great Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Great staff and really helpful with information on how not to be caught out in Sharm. Sean who owns the tea room is very helpful and welcoming and even took time out to show us a little village. Food was nice and the all inclusive drinks were great too, I recommend trying the tequila bomb. Ok the place good do with a little work but that's general for most of Sharm. Being able to use the next hotel was brilliant too. And Karim was really helpful too.

Visited this hotel in feb decided to bring the kids this time over Christmas. Ok so as everyone has said it may need a little TLC but staff etc make up for it. I was met by manager Karim as soon as I stepped through the door, I have dietary needs and he put my mind at rest. All staff are great, friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Food I love it, my daughter is very fussy and not once did she complain, ok so it's quite repetitive but hey plenty to choose from. Met some lovely people who as us have been before spent lots of hours chatting. Poolside bar is looked after by Mario, brilliant man, drinks ready for you and great company. All in all please try this place, you can have the sparkle and the polished floors but it's whats inside, it's clean, friendly and we will be back. Well done Karim, Rooney Mario and all staff! Just don't change it as us regulars love it!

Arrived after reading some appalling reviews so with trepidation, not expecting a great hotel to be honest. Service on the whole was very good especially those young men in the bars and restaurants, looking past the decor and frankly threadbare towels and bedding, pillows, damaged poolside chairs etc etc, the food was very good and with a decent amount of choice for an all inclusive buffet style. Good choice of drinks and the bonus of being able to use next door hotel Coral Hills was good to get away from the sometimes oppressive run down condition of the badawia. The 'spa' we didn't use but plenty did whilst we were there, although encouraged to use these facilities everyday! Local area for snorkelling was excellent, good trip to SoHo square and excellent swimming with dolphins experience nearby , worth asking around about prices though as we got an excellent deal through the rep 'Nash'. So as many have said you do get what you pay for and we enjoyed a week in the fantastic Egyptian sunshine but wouldn't return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Poolside was better than facing the gardens due to ants in the rooms from the gardens.

We went late November for 7 nights - we wanted guaranteed sun at a decent price. We had read the reviews prior to going so arrived with some trepidation. We expected a 3 star hotel. In our opinion this is exactly what we got. INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: On arrival after a very long day first impressions were grim. The reception was tired. We were asked if we wanted to 'upgrade' our AI for £50 each, or thereabouts. This was to include 1 free bottle of spirits for the stay, 1 large bottle of water each per day, free late bar till midnight {normal bar stops at 10pm and then you pay}, 1 hour per person per week of wi fi and late check out {6pm}. we paid for this and was rewarded with a 'room upgrade' to poolside and a pink bracelet! I wouldn't bother. Wi Fi never worked either. SO...onto the room.... Small! Distinct smell of 'not nice' from the bathroom/room area. Large TV that I'm sure ran on steam, more snow on the screen than Ben Nevis. 2 small wardrobes. Shelf fell down in my girlfriend's wardrobe!! HOWEVER....on waking up to glorious sun the next morning we had a tour around the complex. Breakfast was plentiful, hot and edible {I'm a finicky eater and I managed to eat at every meal}. I've been twice to Sharm and stayed in 4 star AI and the food is much the same. Same goes for all the meals. we ate next door at the Coral Hills several times and we actually think the food at Badawia was better. 'restaurant' staff exceptionally helpful, couldn't do enough, always polite. Buildings and decor are dated and need some TLC. Pool area spacious and clean. Ali the towel man always had our towels on the same beds and moved the beds to where we liked them, every morning before we got out. Ali got a BIG tip! All bar staff and workers very friendly and helpful. I was told that an Egyptian TV or movie star owns 4 hotels in the area and this was one of them, but he was trying to sell it. Maybe this was why it lacked some TLC. I actually really liked the layout. I feel it could really be a smart 'boutique' type hotel if some money was spent on it. All in all we got what we paid for. We didn't expect 5 star luxury. We expected cheap accommodation and this is what we got. would we go back again?? If the price was right YES. We plan to go back to Sharm again next November or December....if the price is right this will definitely consider this hotel. That said we have started saving!!!! Go with an open mind. We couldn't get a cottage in Cornwall for this price at this time of year. Weather was excellent.

Room Tip: Poolside rooms are in a good location. Any room that has been decorated/updated would be a bonus!

As usual never been better. You want to keep looking for chipped paint throughout ur hols go ahead. But there is more to it than what the eyes can see. Friendly polite staff. Spot on management. Great food .its cheap to Dine out anyway. Enjoy popping next door to the coral hills for a meal or drink and u ll feel as if u never left the premises as it is just next door.
