“2nd stay at Delta Sharm Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

After staying here 3 years ago (jan/feb 2011) for 2 weeks we finally got round to returning for 10 nights (3rd -13th of feb 2014) as we couldn't fault the place 1st time round.

our room was at the side of the main pool which is in the middle of the resort, perfect cause then everything is very close or only half way across the resort.

there is 14 pools to choose from 2 are heated and 3 have bars.

We used the spa twice this trip as we had used it 1st time round. The sales rep for the spa Mido is a great guy and one of the best on the site. He loves the english and will come and chat to you everyday he see's you sunbathing at the pool. We had many discussions about football :-) !!!!
The spa now also has a free gym you can use from 8 -12 midnight although exercise was the last thing on my mind, more relaxation which is why I had 2 full body massages.

Mario the family restaraunt manager was very helpful for our whole 10 days. My wife is wheat intolerant and after explaining this to him he would show her what she can and can't eat at every meal.

The food could have had a bit more varitey over the time we were there but I had no complaints there was lots to choose from.

The rooms were cleaned everyday. The bedding and towels were replaced daily. We asked at reception for an extra pillow and cups for our room, so we could have tea and coffee, and they were in our room by the time we got back from reception !!!!
We really could fault the service if you asked for it you got it.

If you stay here and want to do any excursions then speak to Tito on site at the side of the main pool. He is the best guy for any trips.
We had a private boat take us to tarin island for diving and snorkling.

There is also a free bus to take you to the beach and narma bay daily if required.

We are looking to return next year around the same time all being well.

Never had a problem with this resort the staff always been polite and friendly towards us.the pools are fantastic and the towel guys do a great job moving your sun beds etc for you.had no problem at all with the food always could find something and if not you can go by the main pool where you can get pizza ,burger, hot dog and chips which we did twice.the apartment was fine and very spacious.reception were fantastic I have walking difficulties and they would send the golf buggy to pick us up to take us to reception or dining room. The entertainment has moved indoors and they do some fun games etc. in the day they do activities round the pool.jesse is fantastic with the guests. The resort itself is set in nice gardens which are tended to regularly.the shop is reasonably priced.water very cheap.lovely lady who sells sandals bags and purses by the main pool worth a look.as is Carole's the English lady who runs the cafe.not sure about anything ask her. Free bus in to namma bay. In the past have been harassed by shop owners but this year things seemed to have changed was not hassled was very quite on the streets tho. think people have been put off by the trouble out there.free bus to the beach which also was very quite. Mido from the spa always pleasant and has time for everyone. All in all another great week away from the English weather with great staff good food and the lovely sun.will be going back next year.

The Delta Sharm Resort is like a small country, a small quiet country. There's at least 13 swimming pools to choose from. Most of which were empty when we were there.

We really enjoyed our week in the sun. But not all was perfect. The food in the family Restaurant can best be described as dodgy.

The rooms were ok, we were moved after firstly given a sub-standard room. The showers can be very temperamental & the mattresses are firm, to say the least.

For a bit of excitement we took our lives into our own hands & crossed the road/motorway running along side the resort to the local shanty town/ghetto. it really wasn't worth it.

It would seem that the British have believed all the hype concerning the recent troubles in Egypt. We hardly saw any English. Many Russians. Many rude, obnoxious Russians, but very, very few Brits.

Did we have a good holiday? - Yes
Would we return to The Delta Sharm Resort? - probably not.

Stayed in the residential area of Delta Sharm, in a lovely apartment, very peaceful, quiet with beautiful surroundings and gardens which were well maintained, food bought from shop on site and supermarket in Namma Bay, a perfectly relaxing holiday.

This is our third time to the Delta sharm resort and once again we were not dissapointed.Food if anything has got better, entertainment better with a special shout out to the animation team for all there efforts. The best thing they have done is move the animation team from the large main pool to the smaller pool N3.Far more feeling of involvement and this group of cascading pools has a small heated one.Ideal in january for a dip.Mango could not be more helpful running both the N3 pool bar and the bar in family restaurant lobby. Thanks Mango me ol chutny. The cleaning staff done a brilliant job as did everyone else.So all in all another great holiday with our very good friends who visited with us for the first time and hopefully will return with us next year.Just to mention the restaurant at friends bar do a great pizza for only just over three pounds and they were that big myself and wife shared one. Thanks all at the Delta sharm, see you next year.

Room Tip: Ask to be near N1 swimming pool as this is in my opinion the best pool and close to family restauran...

The resort gardens are beautiful, not sure about the local residents driving in and out gawping though, its like a little town with real roads, lots of walking around the complex as it is huge. Found this a little difficult with disabled daughter and in the scorching heat it visiting the supermarket for bottled water, as this was not provided in the all inclusive.

On arrival, very late, reception did not have our rooms, I emailed months before asking for rooms for our party of 13 to be near each other. We were spread out and 2 apartments were larger and the other 2 were 1 bed which we booked. On arrival to my 1 bed there was no bed settee that i expected, just 2 beds for 4 of us. How can we be allowed to book a 1 bed for 4 people when there are 2 beds, rang reception they sent up 2 horrid weak beds that were placed in the lounge area, not really what i was expecting and went straight back to reception. We complained and made a deal to give up 1 apartment and shared a 2 bed and 3 bed between 10 of us, so were pleased at a very tiring late night 'travelled all day' feeling. Apartments did need a clean, purchased cleaning bits at the supermarket which was extremely cheap for snacks and water etc.

The swimming pools are all amazing and so many, very pleased, although the main swim pool swim up bar only served soft drinks, bit of a waste building it really. Another pool served alcohol at a swim up, we're not big drinkers just a little tipple to relax on our long awaited holiday. Pool towels were a big bonus. Entertainment was a bit lax, a couple of nights there was some good DJ's mixing, but where was everyone at Delta Sharm ... empty? Some good shows a few times a week. When we stayed it was a special celebration time for the Egyptians and the complex was swamped, one night it was mayhem in the restaurant, and I have never seen so much food wasted when they ate in the main restaurant. Also the droning live music played late at night for the egyptians near the main pool was so depressing, couldnt stand it. The food was ok and we got by, did get repetitive. Our waiter Mohammed was so nice and genuine always with a smile in the main restaurant, he made us very welcome and was particularly polite to our disabled daughter. The snack restaurant by main pool served at 2.30pm bit late for kiddies, but the waiters there were so rude to the English did not like eating there anyway. There were some rude Russians, who were thrown off site. One Russian was an alcoholic who was kind in his own way, but would not leave us alone and was making our children uncomfortable taking close up pictures, the Management were not very good dealing with him.

Visited the beach, the sunbeds were quite horrid, but the snorkelling was fantastic, really amazing. Visited Leila Leila out on a trip late at night, again amazing, felt safe with our rep but wouldnt go out on our own due to hassling. Courtesy bus to the Old Market very handy, like the old arcades but main walk was difficult with hasslers, got some good deals though. The strip of shops on Delta site were run down, would never purchase cooked food from there. Small shop there did sell sun lotion at a good price, was handy. Supermarket extremely reasonable.

Had a fab holiday with friends and enjoyed out stay, this feeling was ruined on the last day. Waited ages for a buggy to pick up our suitcases to take to reception. Tipped the man, handed over the key, they started ransacking the apartments, couldnt understand what was going on. Walked to reception saying our goodbyes on the way, arrived at reception and myself and hubby was bundled into a room with 4 men and were accused of ruining bedding. The ransackers had dragged our quilts and sheets to reception. I was absolutely fuming, how dare they. Whilst on holiday I had taken my quilt out of the cover and placed under the sheet as my hips were hurting from the mattress, anyway it had a cigarette burn on it which i thought was disgusting, but folded and put out of mind. I was accused of the burn, the quilt was dirty and old, the sheets had some old marks and pulls on them, I was accused of getting my hair coloured and staining the sheets. I was fit to burst with the accusations. They shooed as out and we left for the airport. I felt totally deflated by all this and astounded. I have mailed the hotel with my disgust and have had no reply at all, I even sent in Arabic to make sure they could understand my complaint. The hotel would have got a 4* ish for facilities, but due to this incident I am giving a 3*. Beware and I wish i had taken pictures with dates of the quilts etc, as we did feel threatened.

Room Tip: The row of apartments up by the main restaurant and the newer blocks.
