“Wonderful Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

The Grand Rotana Hotel is easily one of the very best hotels in Sharm, the decor, comfort, staff, restaurants, entertainment, views, pool and everything else that comes with the hotel is most definitely 5*

Room Tip: Request sea view, most definitely worth it.

This hotel is situated on a seafront plot, and virtually all rooms have a balcony and sea view. The rooms are well-appointed, roomy and very comfortable. There are several restaurants, all of excellent quality, with buffet, formal and outdoor options available. The pool is enormous, with large areas of both shallow and deeper water. There is a pool-side bar which is located on one of the three small islands within the pool, which can be accessed either by swimming or walking, and which provides all-day food as well as drinks. The coral reef at this point starts at the high-water mark; there are two floating walk-ways about 50 metres long, owned by the hotel, which give immediate access to the seaward side of the reef. This is a paradise for snorkellers or scuba divers who want to see the Red Sea tropical fish. Masks and snorkels can be hired on-site at minimal cost.

I have been to many different establishments in sharm and this by far exceeds expectations. The facilities, service and management is top notch. Being a local my only concern would be the language used by the staff, which is not family-friendly if you get my drift. Otherwise, I would recommend Grand Rotana over any other hotel in Sharm. Absolutely fantastic for families and couples alike. Happy tanning!

I booked a 5 day short trip in November... The scenery is amazing and gardens are well looked after etc...but I was sooo disappointed in the food. It says there are several eateries on the complex..I had booked all inclusive ...it only meant I could eat free in one place and only one bar during the day along by the poolside ...so if you were on the beach you had to climb up flights of stairs for a drink! the clearing of tables or seeing you to a table was very very slow!! it wasnt that busy and I work in the industry so it was quite frustrating. One night the remote control to tv didnt work...batteries had died..the backs were screwed down so i called down for someone to check...it took two attempts after them saying they were on their way!... The staff are friendly but service is not what I was expecting and the food was very very poor!! Our room was on a side road and the noise as they had deliveries from 430am was stupidly ignorant!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

We have regularly stayed in Sharm and travelled extensively across the World and regularly have stayed with top hotel chains including The Club Savoy and The Grand Hyatt in Sharm. This time we thought we would give the Grand Rotana Resort and Spa a try as wanted fully inclusive this time as well as a Spa as we were going to have treatments as we were away without the children this time and wanted to be spoilt! We were not disappointed. We upgraded to Ultra Fully Inclusive Package meaning we could eat at all the resort restaurants including the buffet. Basically you could eat and drink anything you wanted in the resort apart from branded drinks which is pretty normal. We are both foodies and love eating but could not fault the restaurants; Beach Grill, Italian, Buffett and the The Silk Road, a fusion restaurant which would put most London restaurants to shame. The staff without exception were the most friendly and helpful we have met, room standards were very high and our room, although it was a deluxe sea view room which was probably above average standards, was huge and always clean. We used the gym and the Spa treatments were fantastic. I cannot recommended this hotel enough and if you are particular about a great pool with a sea view, staff friendliness, cleanliness but also want exceptionally high standards of food (which can be a bit hit and miss in Egypt) then give this hotel a try but perhaps spend a little extra for the Ultra inclusive option as then you wont get bored with the buffet which many people say they do. The only negative like others have commented is no free wifi and when working as both my husband and I do even when away it cost us a fortune on data roaming charges and the hotel wifi was quite expensive. We will be returning just to see the smiley faces of the staff again and to fill our tummies up! Thank you Grand Rotana for a brilliant week away.

Just back from a really nice stay at the Grand Rotana, in Sharm El Sheikh. The room was in a block set away from the hotel and was kept to a very good standard. The breakfast was very good with a wide choice of food to chose from, My big disappointment would be not having free wifi. In an age where people are traveling with smart phones and Ipad's they want to be connected to news and information. Hotels that charge extortionist prices at this stage will be left behind by the ones offering it for fee. I have just given this place a 3 star review for this reason. My advice would be to get a local Vodafone sim card for your mobile to escape excessive charges.

Ì travel there for 2 nights during a business trip.
It was of course full of tourists.
Room are big, clean.
The sea view was fantastic. The pool is huge.
My overall opinion is very good.
Only point which can be hillighted is that the hotel is not in Nama bay area....
