“"Simply Amazing"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

It was me and my girlfriends first time coming to Egypt and we weren't disappointed at all. After looking at several reviews on the internet we opted to stay at the Jaz Belvedere hotel because it looked like it had fantastic views, accomodation and reading the hotel information it seemed like a nice place to come away and have a nice relaxing couples holiday while indulging in some of Egypt's fine excursions. On arrival it wasn't the bestest of greetings as we were told simply to go and have something to eat and were not given an option as to just go up to our rooms. As you can imagine this wasnt the best of first impression after a long flight because you dont want to be eating in your sweaty clothes. After having something to eat we were taken to our room which overlooked a glorious seaview and had wonderful gardens, the bedroom was really big and really nice & clean. Overall I give Jaz Belvedere 5* because the staff coudn't simply do enough for you, the pool area and beach are situated directly next to eachother so your spoilt for choice!! the food isn't great and get's a little repititive at times but this is sort of what we have come to expect staying in other all inclusive hotels. The tour reps are always trying to organise trips and get you involved however we did find the majority of day and night time entertainment is in italian and the majority of the guests staying at Jaz Belvedere are italian, so they could look to improve by bringing in someone thats multilingual which is what many of other hotels do. If your interested in excursions we fully recommend visiting Luxor & Cairo and also going on the quads that was a fantastic experience in which we drove through the safara desert during the day stopped had a meal then went back on the quads through the night.. I'll never forget that experience!!! overall if your looking for a nice peaceful holiday with lot's of excursions to do Jaz Belvedere is the hotel for you!!!!!

first time to egypt we were worried about getting it wrong but wow we got it spot on.On arrival we were greeted by mohammed at reception with a cocktail and a smile, given a choice of rooms and a brief guide of the complex. our room was excellent with fully stocked minibar very clean and kept spotless by hussain who was very funny and great at the art of towel folding of swans his camel was a bit dodgy though.sunbeds are of plenty then there was our lovely katie the guest relations manager from estonia who checks on everyone daily you dont have to find her she makes sure she finds you to have a chat and tell you everything about sharm,we cant thank her enough.
also the food and the restaraunt staff were brill especially tom jones aka ahahmed he does tricks with napkins amazing ha ha anyway if you are a bit unsure book the jazz you will not be dissapointed many thanks to the lovely katie and her team for making our break very special see you all in september a break to remember

Just arrived back from a wonderful holiday staying at the Jaz Belvedere with my boyfriend and we had an amazing time. Having read some of the reviews we went with an open mind and we were not dissapointed.
We arrived at sunset (Using a taxi from the airport) and were checked in quickly, given welcome drinks and were told we had a family room with a sea view which we were delighted about. Given welcome drinks and took in the views from reception. The sea and pools are the first thing we noticed and it really is a beautiful setting. The staff took our suitcases and we walked to our room. The hotel and grounds are immaculate and very clean. Our room was large and spacious and we had fresh drinks every morning including two large bottles of water. Our ground floor room had a nice balcony which we used to sit out at night and play cards.
Dinner on the first night was not great, food a little cold but we were there late and were a bit tired and crabby. After the first night we could not fault the food, a great selection and the temperature of the food was fine. My boyfriend could not get enough of the little deserts, he thought that they were delicous. Breakfast was great each morning also, a massive selection to choose from. The staff are always available to come round and check you do not have any grieviances and ask for any tips on how they can improve the hotel. I suggested candles at night when you are eating to make it a little more special in the evening restaraunt.
We tended to use the pool bar at lunchtime and had burgers, pizza and chips, the burgers were yummy. Drinks by the pool we had were soft drinks and beer which was great. There were more than enough sunbeds and we had fresh towels each day.
The people selling the trips were talking to us a lot the first day, but if you politely explain that you are not interested then they don't bother you and they are actually very friendly and don't just chat to you about the trips. We went snorkelling by speedboat and horseriding in the desert which was brilliant.
We didn't have a problem with the men being inappropritate, they made comments about my boyfriend being a lucky man (which he knows anyway ha ha!) but I found them complimentary, not sleazy like I have found them on previous trips to Egypt. You just have to be firm and polite and take it in good nature.
This is my fourth trip to Egpyt and I have stayed in other 5 star hotels, actually although this is not the biggest or the liveliest it was one of my favourites, even just the setting made my holiday, it is truly relaxing and romantic.
Entertainent could have perhaps been a bit better, but I have found this in other Egyptian hotels too, it is difficult to cater for all nationalities. We went to the fireshow which was great and the 'Mr Hotel' which was very amusing but otherwise just chose to play cards and chill out by ourselves. We had one night out in Naama Bay and went to the hardrock cafe and Camel Bar (which has been renovated and is fabulous) I have been a few times so it can be quite overwhelming if you haven't been with the locals trying to get you into their shops and give you taxis, but again just be polite and firm and walk through. Beware of the taxi drivers saying that they are from your hotel! They just recognise the wrist bands! Arrange a return taxi from the hotel instead and they will collect you when you call ( We paid 180 egyptian pounds return ) Also the prices are a bit more expensive when you're out for the night, expecially if you are drinking cocktails : )
Couldn't really fault our holiday apart from this is not the best snorkelling I have experienced, so do the long day boat trip instead. Also, if you go horseriding, take some cash, as they make you pay for drinks in the tent and if you want photos then you obviously have to pay!
Weather was fab, one day a little overcast but we were snorkelling anyway so didn't mind, the rest of the time it was 25 plus and sea temperature 22 degrees. One heated pool which we used and the other was freezing so only for the brave.
BEWARE of the mosquitos! I was bitten about ten times on my legs so take repellant and sting cream as they get really itchy. Didn't see any in our room so guess it was from sitting out at night.
Overall, great weather, great room and cleaned and left towel art every day, wonderful setting, nice food and drinks and very friendly staff. Will definitely be going back but next time will probably take more money for trips and nights out, otherwise entertainment a bit limited. Thanks Jaz Belvedere, we miss you and the people already. Special thanks to our room cleaner (1302) the waiters in our restaraunt, the guy who arrnaged our horseriding trip and the lovely man who took our photos ( we love them! )

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher up, views likely to be better

We spent a great week at the Jaz Belvedere where the staff could not have been more friendly. On arrival we were given personal attention and a cocktail to drink whilst the reception manager provided details of the hotel for our convenience. The room was more than adequate with a personal safe, large bedroom area, excellent bathroom facilities and free bottles of water every day.

The lobby bar is of the highest quality and the bar staff super efficient and very friendly - this hotel has the best personal touch that I have experienced in many years of travelling. They simply want to be the best and are vigorous in their attention to detail. This was exemplified by the customer service rep who daily asked for our opinion to ensure any issues were promptly dealt with but there were none to be considered throughout our stay.

The restaurant had a large variety of foods to cater for all types and the food was fresh and well prepared.

I would happy to return to this hotel sometime in the future.

Been to another hotel in Sharm before but this hotel was of a perfect size, friendly and amazing. Such good value. The predominantly Italian guests make sure that the hotel is to a high standard. Best food i have had all inclusive.

Friendly staff especially bar man by pool and taxi company owner Mohammed. Hotel is on a quiet part of Montazah beach unlike Nabq bay, so you do need to visit Namaa up the road at night for a cheap £15 return, paying on return, which you arrange with Mohammed who is always outside reception. There is building going on around the area but this does not distrubt your stay!

Entertainment i saw was great compared to some holidays, especially the fire show. Literally the only dislikes were the hour and a half transfer when the hotel was behind the airport, will get in a taxi next time and save time and money. Also pool towels old and sometimes marked. However this hotel did have one man whos job was purely to come and find you everyday and ask of any problems or any good points and just for a chat. I have never seen this in a hotel before and this gentleman is a great asset to Jaz. I really cannot think of any thing really bad, we even got free late check out as they couldn't give us a pool view. Also the reps Alex, Amy and Direna were lovely. Made some great friends on a relaxing winter holiday, brilliant! I hope to back at Jaz soon.

Room Tip: If you are unhappy with your room just speak to reception. Pool and sea view are best.

Stayed 11 days February. Arrived very concerned re security in Egypt taking into account current political problems since we had booked. Dont be worried there is security everywhere but not in your face. As just about everyone has already stated this hotel is really, really trying to be the best hotel in Sharm. ALL of the staff are great and nothing is too much trouble. Particular mention must be made though of KATY (customer care),My wife and I have never ever met anyone who cares so much about her customers and loves her job so much( if the HILTON HOTEL group knew of her they would be head hunting her),lets all hope they never hear of her. Would we go back to the Jaz Belveder. You can bet we will. WELL DONE ALL OF THE STAFF AT THIS HOTEL. __Quick last thought, when you get your Egyption pounds from your travel agent, insist that you are given some small denomination bank notes as anything under 100EP does not seem to be available in Egypt. This can be embarassing when wanting to tip for services. Roy and Sylvia ,Beverley.

Room Tip: Lots of steps on site. If you have any mobility problems make it known when booking.

Our first trip to Sharm, we flew from Exeter with Thompson and were met by a minibus and transported to the Hotel in ten minutes. Although close to the airport there is very little disturbance. The hotel and grounds are built to a high standard and the arcitecture has an attractive middle eastern style. There are three swimming pools, one that is usually heated but the heating was broken when we arrived so nobody in the pool for a few days! Also the spa was closed for refurbishment but this is to reopen at the end of Feb. The hotel is situated right on the beach and you can swim direct from the shore or walk out on the jetty for some amazing snorkelling! Apart from the beach complex next door which is used by a hotel some distance away the setting is very remote. On both sides there is just dessert meeting the sea and signs warning " no security past this point" although we were told that we could safely walk along the shore to the right and around the headland to the next hotel jetty where the snorkelling was said to be even better. The security is well enforced with uniformed guards patrolling the hotel and beach, a regular visitor was Bedouin chap riding a camel called "Michael Jackson" a very friendly guy who positions himself at the side of the beach and encourages photos or even camel rides. My advice here is to agree a price in advance as his prices are a little over the top and he did not take kindly to my bargaining! The staff are very friendly as are the animation team but be prepared to be "encouraged"when on the beach to join in activities and the "hard sell" from trip organisers and the spa staff, however once they get to know you they will sit and talk on any subject from " English girls v polish girls" to the riots in Cairo! The only staff issue was with the waiters in the restaurant who target women on their own very slyly and on several occasions uttered suggestive innuendoes to my fiancée to such a point that she did not like going in their alone. We tried the a la carte restaurant but whilst it was nice to be waited on the quality of food was no better than the buffet restaurant downstairs which varied from average to very good. The bar area in the hotel was very nice and they often had live singers, the animation team always had something going on in the evening such ad karaoke and "English v Russian quiz night (we won!) due to the afore mentioned location if you want to wonder off site you do need a taxi and there is a guy that operates taxis outside the hotel who was very helpful and even refused a tip once saying it was too much! We did the Thompson organised " Ultimate desert experience" which is a must if you enjoy quad or sand buggy driving plus camel riding and a bit of Bedouin culture in the beautiful Sinai desert. We also did a scuba taster dive offered by the hotel based diving company
Here we were taken out in a speed boat and took turns in going underwater with a diver, an amazing experience but spoilt by inappropriate behaviour from the boatman during my dive whilst my fiancée was left in the boat alone with him. Nothing wrong with a bit of banter and believe me my fiancee is very broadminded but these guys need to learn where to draw the line. We had the misfortune of having to seek medical attention as my fiancée had an allergic reaction to some insect bite so we were very pleased to find a very helpful pharmacist and Doctor based in the hotel, obviously we had to pay but could claim back on travel insurance. As for the room, could not fault it the hotel was less than half full so they were only using the sea facing rooms and ours had a fantastic view across the sea ti Turin island. All in all a lovely holiday and a great place for winter sun.
