Well where to start, when we arrived at 1am there was no room for us so we were given a choice. One room with no ac or another with ac but no lock on the door, however we could put a chair under it to make it more secure. After ten minutes debating this a member of staff said that there was another room just vacated if we would wait for it to be cleaned. As we did not to want to move the next day to another room we then waited half an hour for it to be made ready for us, with no refreshments as the bar was shut even though the staff were clearly enjoying a late night drink and chat, when we got to the room my husband had to go back to reception for some toilet roll. A great start to the holiday.
Breakfast was a dissapointment even after reading the reviews every day I had to ask for butter as it must be worth more than gold and is kept under lock and key in the kitchen.
All was well when we met with the other guests, they gave us advice on the best place to it which was next door called The Tavern and owned by an English guy serving good tasty English food. Never had I been soo excited to see Heinz baked beans in my life plus the fajitas were amazing.
Even though the food was much to be desired the best of British came out in all of the guests and we had a great time with them, I can safely say that all those that we met will not be going back unless there are some serious changes with the food.
The local Egyptians are very rude to all the staff and fellow guests alike as are the Russians who seem to think they own the place.
Reda and Sherif were great. Reda being the most rudest and funniest bar tender I have ever met and really made our stay. Sherif tried so hard to make to food better for us bless.
The day before we left I tried to get a pick up time and was told maybe 9am, maybe 10am. I said no maybes just tell me. After 2 hours I finally got a time of 9.20am. They finally came at 10am.
Once again the people we met were great and we had a great time with them as we were all in the same boat so therefore made the best of it.
It is such a shame it has the potential to be such a great hotel, it just needs a massive injection of cash and a head chef that actually knows what the guests needs as well as the ability to be able to cook, its not that hard I can do it.
