We went back here a year after our first visit, and little has changed. The staff are, without exception, friendly and helpful. The rooms are impeccably clean. There are smoking and no smoking bars, so even on a cooler winter night you can find a suitable seat to your taste. If I have one criticism, it's that some of the Harry Enfield 'I'm considerably richer than you' stereotypes have started to abandon the costas and discover this place, but most of the guests are a great bunch, of all ages. There are plenty of daytime activities and a reasonable choice of evening entertainment. Watch out for very strong spirits. I can't wait to go back.

Mick and Julie Brown. East Yorkshire.
This was our first ever visit to Egypt and we were more than a little apprehensive after listening to horror stories about dodgy food etc.
Our hotel was a maximum 30min coach ride away from the airport which was great as the last thing you want after a 5hr flight is a long transfer time.
We were offered a soft drink whilst we completed our hotel registration in reception then we were taken to our room by a very polite bell boy.We had a junior suite on the ground floor and even though we would have preferred a room on a higher floor we were pleased with it.
The room was large and spotlessly clean and along with the large twin beds we had a lovely lounge area that led onto the balcony. The rooms are cleaned daily by a male(the women in Egypt are not encouraged to work)and he was very through and left a very imaginative towel sculpture each day.
There are two pools hotel. The quiet pool and the main activity pool.We chose to spend out time at the quiet pool which had ample comfortable beds all around but it didn't stop the sunbed re servers scurrying around in the early hours to bag the best areas for lying in the sun. Some mornings i heard them putting towels on sunbeds at 4am so it was a case of,if you cant beat them, join them. The brits were the worst offenders!.
The quiet pool isn't heated while the large activity pool is so beware if you like to go for an early morning swim as i do, as i almost ended up with hypothermia.Brrrrrrr!.
The lifeguard at the Quiet pool(Mohamed) was absolutely brilliant and he kept us entertained with his attempts at British accents. His cockney was hilarious!
The hotel grounds are in pristine condition and there wasn't a single piece of litter anywhere unlike most places outside the hotel .It seemed to us that The populated areas of Egypt are nothing more than a rubbish tip as no one seems to worry about rubbish collection etc.
The food in the main buffet restaurant had a different theme daily and every meal we ate there was excellent with many foods to choose from. The food was always hot and much to my wife's delight there was a superb selection of deserts on offer each day with a wide and varied selection of fruits also.
There was also three ala carte restaurants to choose from.Egyptian, mediterranean and Mai Thai.We only visited the Egyptian and the Mai Thai and both were superb but be warned, only visit the Egyptian if you are very hungry as the portions are large. In all the Ala Carte restaurants the wine is served either by the bottle or glass and both the Red and White is amongst some of the best i have ever tried and all included in the all inclusive package.
If you are a bit of a fitness nut like me then you will want to make use of the fitness centre. The gym has lots of free weights and several machines that have obviously been well used over the years but are still okay. The cardio machines could do with replacing though as they have seen better days..
Im a bike nut also and even though mountain bikes are not my preferred mode of transport i went out several times with Kimel, the mountain bike guide. We did both on and off road rides and i thoroughly enjoyed it.Make sure you take padded shorts though as i did or your nether regions will take a battering, especially on the desert rides. The longest ride is only 44km(28miles or so)but there are also shorter tours for novices.
Beware of the V.I.P. cruise excursion. We paid £50 each for the trip which was a mixture of cruising and snorkeling with lunch included yet we had to pay a further £20 for the hire of wet suit and mask,s etc.
The day we went on the trip the sea was was quite rough but instead of cancelling, the trip went ahead. For many it was to rough(my wife included) and she along with others spent most of the day throwing up.There were so many diving trips around the reef we visited that we didn't see many fish at all as they were in hiding. Also there was an annoying guy with a camera following everyone around the boat clicking away all day long in the hope that you would buy the C.D at the end. Most didn't!.
The other trip we took part in was a 3 hour evening excursion to Soho square which is a hassle free shopping strip about 200yds long.To be honest an hour would have been ample time.We paid £10 each for the coach but it would have only been £5 between 4 if we had gone by Taxi.A word of WARNING-Don't visit the ice bar.We paid £17 each for the privilege which included a drink and all it was,was just a few ice sculptures in an industrial freezer unit attached to a bar. What a rip off.
To sum up, i would say the hotel is superb with all the staff willing to help and its one of the best we have ever stayed in.A great holiday which was made even better due to the lovely people we befriended there.Namely the lovely Mary and Colin and the Mad Jocks,Rae and Jim.If any of them read this-We have lost your addresses etc..
We will be booking again for next year.

My husband booked a surprise holiday for my 40th! I must admit I wouldn't have chosen Egypt its a little more "foreign" than I'm used to! But this really was amazing! It was our first child free holiday for more than 16 years! I'm a bit of a fussy customer and expected to arrive and have to avoid certain foods, ice cubes etc. I had a suitcase full of medication for upset stomachs just in case!! BUT I needn't of worried, the food was amazing! From day one we ate everything, salads, rice, ice cubes etc. The service was excellent, staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Every time you passed a member of staff they smiled. The rooms were very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The grounds and gardens were beautiful. The beach bar was great and served proper coffees, lattes etc as well as a menu of cocktails! The wine was lovely (not the usual cheap vinegar you get on all inclusive) The choice of food at the buffet restaurant was amazing and the evenings were themed nights with such attention to detail. We visited the a la carte Thai restaurant one evening which was fabulous.
I really can't fault this hotel and would certainly re-visit. My only disappointment was that we arrived with a limited amount of large notes of Egyptian currency and asked several times at the reception desk to change for smaller notes so we could tip the waiters but they never had change. There was no expectation to tip but I would have liked to as they deserved it for the exceptional service. Next time I will make sure I have smaller notes or more English change.
We had a go at scuba diving in the pool and my husband did a dive in the sea which he said was amazing (I was too chicken!) All in all we had a fabulous break and felt totally pampered and relaxed. I would without hesitation recommend this hotel :-)

Room Tip: We were in block 14 on the ground floor with a sea view (obscured by the hedges and football pitch...

Had a great holiday in January, although had a few days of poor weather (still better than the UK!) Staff were lovely. The rooms could do with an upgrade, but are very comfortable. The only down side was the worse than useless Thomsons staff, who did not explain anything except the trips the you could buy from them. The booking for the a la cartle restaurants only works for early risers, but I wouldn't bother with them anyway, as the main buffet restaurant is really good. Snorkelling was amazing!

Will definitely go back - funds allowing!

Room Tip: Request a high floor

I returned to this resort mainly for the hotel, which on a second visit was as fantastic as the first.

We went to the egyptian restaurant for a meal, but still got drawn back to the huge variety in the main buffet style restaurant. Every night they go to town and decorate the restaurant in a theme, everyone works so hard around the
main resort, and all the staff from the groundsmen, waiters, and supervisors greet everyone throughout the day. I think the staff enjoy working there as much as we like visiting.

The food and drinks are variety and speed to service were good.

I swam in the main pool twice, but it was very cold.

Can't wait for a return visit!!

overall good holiday, unfortunately weather not great so little to do.found the non smoking bars a bit small and always full due tho weather i think.service excellent and always with a smile.rooms great and fully equipped for free.we found the food only average in the main restaurant, you should try the a la carte which was excellent.food and service.the wife and i stayed at the red sea coral resort 2 years ago and would say they were both on par although this was meant to be better?
