We have just returned from our second visit to the Savoy. It was like we had never been away. The Hotel is magnificent, and spotlessly clean throughout. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and all have a balcony or Terrace. All Members Staff are trained to give the highest standard of customer service, but I feel I should give special mention to Edi from the Safari Bar, HAMDI, and AWAD Lifeguards and HAKEEM from the Rocky Pool Bar. However best of all was Islam who opened the Gym an hour earlier in the morning for our convenience, that really was going the extra mile. Thank you for making our Holiday Special.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for the kind words. It’s lovely to hear that you really enjoyed your 02nd holiday with us and we are very pleased that you have highlighted some of the staff for specific praise even though you say that all the staff are a credit to us. Lots of training, lots of attention to detail and then some more training all combined with top quality facilities for our staff, mean they get the best out of the Savoy and they will put the best back into it.

The Savoy has earned a reputation second to none for outstanding quality and service. Every feature has been designed to enhance our guests' experience. The Savoy embodies the highest traditional values, with exceptional restaurants, bars and entertainment. Spread over 200,000 m² of lush tropical foliage, waterfalls and serene surroundings, the Savoy lies at the heart of the spectacular White Knight Beach on the Red Sea in the South Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. The area is renowned for its natural beauty with a rich variety of flora and fauna, desert and majestic mountains. The hotel is 8 km from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport and in front of SOHO Square.

With regard to our rooms at Savoy Hotel, we have very spacious, luxury rooms furnished with high quality sycamore furniture. Our rooms are designed to give guests a restful experience with spacious balconies or terraces overlooking the lush grounds and comfortable outdoor furniture from which to enjoy the tranquil Red Sea ambience.
Thank you for choosing the Savoy and please tell all your friends how safe and sound we are here in sunny Sharm El Sheikh.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kind regards,

Jacques PETER

I'll try and do a comprehensive report! The hotel is only 10 minutes from the Airport so no long transfers. It is a mass of marble and quite beautiful. The rooms are well appointed and have either a terrace or balcony. The beds are extremely comfortable so a good night's sleep is gauranteed. There were 9 in our party and we were put in rooms where we could all just pop in and see one another without having to go round to our front doors. The main restaurant, the Tirana was excellent and breakfast was always wonderful. The staff in the main restaurant were very kind and helpful and Islam especially always had a laugh and a joke. All the staff had giggles when I spoke in Arabic! Fresh eggs cooked any way you like were always welcome and the 'Egg man' was a delight. The Safari bar (where children aren't allowed inside but are welcome outside on the terrace) was where we had our pre'dinner drinks and our last stop before going to bed. Mina Joseph was an absolute gem - although he had only been there for a few weeks he was great. He has the best giggle going and we loved being served by him (all the staff in the bar were very good but M.Joseph had 'the edge'. He is a great asset to the hotel. There are 3 pool, one huge ice cold one, one warm one and one warm deep one. The children spent most of their time there. Mohamed el Hady was also a gem and always had a chat with us. He is such an intelligent and well read man and also an asset to the hotel. Always helpful. the pool bar staff were excellent too and also the staff in the restaurant by the pool. There are many places to eat in the hotel but the one we loved best was the Rosmarino Italian restaurnat - wonderful food and ambiance and staff who were very attentive and smiley. The Hot Rocks restaurant was an experience and had a small dance floor.. You cook your own food on a hot rock placed in front of you, definitely one to try. There is a wonderful seafood restaurant by the beach although we didn't get to eat in it. I suggest anyone staying at this hotel goes for the S CLASS ultra inclusive package as this means that you can eat at any of the superb restauarants for free including the ones in Soho Square which is located at the entrance to the Savoy. A myriad of shops, fountains (which have a wonderful 15 minute show every half hour), restaurants, camel rides (didn't like the aggressive camel man though!). There is a huge stage where different shows take place every night - we saw the Chinese circus which was fantastic. Drinks here in Soho Square are also free if you are on S Class. Back to the hotel: There is a beach and jetties out to the sea for swimming and snorkelling. For me this was a drawback as I like to sit on the beach and dip in and out of the sea but swimming off the beach is not allowed because the reef is quite close, so the only alternative it to wobble your way along the jetty and swim in very deep water. The fish were amazing and the snorkelling excellent. If you want to stay at a great hotel with loads to do then the Savoy is the place for you. One thing that I think the hotel must do is to install WiFi in (at the very least) the public areas of the hotel as at present you have to go into Soho Square to connect and as it is always very busy there it isn't always possible to connect. One could buy WiFi at the hotel but the price was extortionate! I had the pleasure of meeting Raimund Braun, the Kitchen Director and also Timothy John Rice, the Director of the Savoy School who were both a delight. One 'down' about the hotel was the amount of Russians there - they are so rude and have no manners and will also push in to any queue (especially at immigration on arrival at the airport - they ignore the lines of English people waiting patiently and just walk up to the front of the queue! So annoying! In summary, a lovely hotel and well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Dear Reviewer,

Good Day from a peaceful and safe Sharm El Sheikh

Thank you for your nice comments and your recommendation. You stayed S-Class which meant that you enjoyed 14 different à la carte restaurants and a whole host of bars and lots of extras as you mentioned. You also enjoyed some of the best service to be found in Sharm.

We do have an amazing location for our resort. Set on beautiful White Knight Beach with its spectacular coral and marine life, it offers divers and snorkelers an incredible, unforgettable experience. As you said, we are also close to so many of the attractions in South Sinai and can offer approved and trusted excursions through our concierge.

But arguably our greatest asset is our staff. They are well trained and they love the nice things that people say about them. They work hard at their jobs and they know that our guests expect and deserve the best and so that’s what they give time and time again – their best.

With regard to the wifi service in the hotel, most hotels in Egypt charge for internet use and our charges are competitive with other 5* hotels in the region. After listening to our guests, an adjusted price has been implemented recently which means that we offer the service at cost. We are also looking at ways to improve on that. Meanwhile Wi-Fi is indeed free in SOHO Square, just next door to the Savoy.

We do hope that you will return soon and enjoy the beautiful sunny resort at the Savoy once more. Perhaps we’ll see you here to celebrate your first anniversary?

Kind regards,

Jacques PETER

This was our first visit to Sharm, and most certainly the first of many. We have stayed in some very good 5 star hotels all over the world, but the Savoy was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, and for the 7 days we had there (16th to 23rd November 2013), the service and facilities were excellent. We had the S class all inclusive which is the way to go. The wide choices of restaurants and bars (both in the Savoy and the adjacent Soho Square) were great and first class. The service was superb - all the staff, bar none, were so friendly and helpful and they would always go out of their way to make our stay such a pleasurable, relaxing and memorable holiday. We have to make a special mention of Mohamed Elhady (pool lifeguard) who was so attentive, interesting and funny; and Wilson Safwat and Abd Hakim, waiters at the pools, who both were also so friendly, happy, polite and helpful at all times. You couldn't ask for any better friendly efficient service anywhere.

The rooms were faultless, and extremely well serviced. Lack of Wi-Fi is the only down side of the hotel. Everywhere in the hotel was spotless and extremely well maintained. The facilities that are on offer in the Savoy are superb, with the added bonus of Soho Square restaurants and bars (and shops) that are included in the hotel's all-inclusive package. The layout of the hotel is great and very well designed.

The snorkelling off the jetty was superb, so good to have literally on your doorstep! Plenty of sunbeds (although it was not peak tourist times).

All in all the Savoy is a fantastic hotel, with great staff, and we can't wait till we return there, which I can assure you that we will.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for the “Fantastic” review and your recommendation. It’s lovely to hear that you really enjoyed your 1st time with us and plan to return soon.

You stayed S-Class which meant that you had the option of enjoying 14 different à la carte restaurants and a whole host of bars and lots of extras as you mentioned. You also enjoyed some of the best service to be found in Sharm.

With regard to our rooms at Savoy Hotel, we have very spacious, luxurious rooms furnished with high quality sycamore furniture. Our rooms are designed to give guests a restful experience with spacious balconies or terraces overlooking the lush grounds and comfortable outdoor furniture from which to enjoy the tranquil Red Sea ambience.

The diving and snorkeling here is spectacular. The Savoy's scuba diving centre offers personally tailored courses and day trips. If you have never tried scuba before take a trial dive directly from the beach and discover the wonders of the undersea realm, as well as shipwrecks such as the SS Thistlegorm and the wrecks of Sha'ab Abu Nuhas. The warm Red Sea from the protected Ras Mohammed National Park to the Jackson Reef at the northern limit of the Sinai Peninsula is home to turtles, eagle rays and groups of banner, puffer and triggerfish and so much more- the greatest diversity of marine life on the planet.

Our staff are one of our best assets and we all work hard to ensure that they have the best working conditions possible and then the best facilities to enjoy when they finish their day’s work. I’m glad they served you well.

Thank you for choosing the Savoy and please tell all your friends how safe and sound we are here in sunny Sharm El Sheikh.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

This was our second time this year and if possible, was even better than the first!
Michael on Reception allocated us a lovely quiet room overlooking the entire resort and out to sea. He was so helpful the whole time, giving vouchers to use on Soho Square, advising us on trips etc and changing large banknotes to enable us to tip just about everyone! Our last visit there was an HSBC bank on Soho Square but this is now closed, so getting smaller notes was quite a problem. If you think the staff have excelled, please leave a tip. They are so appreciative of any amount, and work so hard to make sure we are happy.
We rushed down to the Beach Bar and were delighted to find Mahmood and the rest still there and made such a fuss of us. This continued the whole time. This went for all the bars- especially The Safari - and restaurants, Seafood Restaurant at lunchtimes, Hot Rocks, Rosmarino, L'Entrecote to name but a few and the Gala Dinner outside one warm evening was an absolute delight!!
The Savoy is the most beautiful place with so much choice whether in the hotel itself, or in Soho Square - one week is just not long enough.
Thank you to all the staff who made this trip so memorable. How can they remember our food, drinks and room number whenever we returned? Brilliant! The list of names would be endless but I filled in the feedback form on departure that named just a few.
We had hoped to return for Christmas but ill health has not allowed that but as soon as possible, we will most definitely return. I just love it!!

My husband and I have just returned from Sharm-Staying at the Savoy. We have visited Sharm many times and loved all of our stays but would probably say that our experience at The Savoy was best so far. Over the past couple of years my husband and I have experienced mobility difficulties and as soon as we arrived at the Savoy and the team could see we weren't fully mobile they made sure we had a room on the ground floor with easy access to the swimming pool and bar. One of the great things about the hotel is its design is with sloping floors rather than stairs so we didn't need to worry about accessibility and this is also built into the pathways to the beach so no where was beyond our access The hotel also has a buggy service which we were able to use to go to and from the beach as well as the restaurants within the complex and away from the hotel in Soho Square The staff couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. We had help whenever we needed it and people were charming. We would like to say a really big thank you to all the team the combination of a great hotel and an amazing team is what made this such a great holiday. Whilst there are too many great people to call out I would say an extra special thank you to Husal and Eid. The hotel has great amenities the food was excellent with a wide variety of choice all good quality. The restaurants outside the Hotel building in Soho Square meant there was always a new place to try. A great holiday in a safe friendly location.

Room Tip: having a room near one of the 3 pools then easy access to beach and Rocky Bar for drinks and snacks.

This was my 2nd visit here, went last Nov and now this Nov.
Five of us visited this time, and all bar one of us had been before.
we all agreed that the food remained excellent.
You have to go S Class, good value for money in my opinion.
Rooms are to an excellent standard and always clean.
The service at all restaurants that we visited and the bar and pool staff was superb.
The two Mohammeds at the Safari bar were chatty and served with a smile, always remembering what drinks we'd had.
thanks to Shak, who works poolside, who always had the sun beds ready! great service.
Mahmoud who served around the pool and at the rock bar (pool bar) gave the best service of the week. He never failed to impress with polite, happy, and attentive service. also, excellent service by Abdul Al Hakeem.
Check-in was faultless
the only improvement I'd ask them to make is the extent of the wifi coverage around the hotel.
being able to get it in the rooms would be handy.
other than that, an awsome and enjoyable holiday, and I can thoroughly recommend this as a hotel and destination.
we will be back, but maybe not as soon as next year.
