We stayed in this hotel last christmas and we have already to go back this year for christmas and new yeAr very good all food very good where ever you eat got a swim up room this year cart wait to returnr and mrs ottewill from kent England ,

I write this review after an 11 night stay at the sunrise grand select, we arrived at around 18:00 to a very DARK lobby area which we were shown to set of chairs and table and were given drinks and then shown to our room. Whilst walking round the hotel it was not lit up at all and quite dangerous as there are many steps to the lower end/beach area of the hotel, as we explored we still noticed the lack of lights throughout the grounds.

Our room was a deluxe twin swim up in the orchid wing which was also by the relaxing pool this was very quiet which was nice. The finish in our room was not of a high standard, it was as if they were quick fixing areas I.e plaster, silicone bonding and paint in random areas. During our stay, our swim up pool, which was shared by 9 other rooms; was cleaned three times at the beginning then not once after, although the relaxing pool was well kept. The best part of the relaxing area is Ehab, he runs the bar in the waterfall grill and is so polite and so helpful and would bring you drinks all day by the pool and even to your balcony. He provided a great service while we were on holiday and is an asset to the sunrise. The other staff members it felt like you would have to tip them to get good service. A few occasions while I was eating I was ignored and forgot about but the chap sitting next to me passing money to the waiter was treated like royalty I will tip generously if it deserved.

The food: The buffet is horrible the quality of produce is not 5 star and neither is the choice I would not recommend it, the a la carte restaurant booking service is not once made clear to you even on arrival it was not explained how you book them or how much lead time you require, and so we were left to our own devices. Unfortunately you are also not provided with a menu for any of the restaurants before booking them unless you ask guest services. We managed to eat in the Italian three times... the main thing this hotel does not have is consistency as each time I ate there I ordered the same dishes it was always different whether it be covered in a horrible sauce or the portion size, it was never same. We also ate in the Thai which was not of any quality just deep fried chicken pieces served with a sweet sauce. We also ate in the Mongolian (Waterfall grill) this was by far the best tasting food in the hotel a very simple menu but cooked very well and also run by Ehab and he does a fantastic job. There are other restaurants which are French, Indian and a fish restaurant located by beach/royal club area which I didn't try as the menus did not look appetising. The hotel also showed two other buffet style restaurants on its info channel which are the blue blue grill and also Nora Middle Eastern cuisine which were not open our whole stay. For lunch we ordered room service which was shrimp salad this was very nice and fresh, we had this the majority of our stay.
We also ate in soho square which has many restaurants, bars and places for shisha which is a short taxi ride away, taxis can be obtained by the hotels own taxi service, Mohammed the driver is very polite and made us feel very comfortable and safe, there is also a free shuttle service provided to Soho square but only runs at certain times and so can be quite restrictive.

The grounds were very well kept and very nice, the gardeners were out every morning trimming, mowing and making sure it was all tidy.

The beach was very nice with a short jetty which you could jump of the edge and snorkel and view the reefs below which was a nice experience, the beach had private cabanas which you could rent for the day for a small fee, they could also be used for private dinning which was not explained or offered to me as I would have used this service but I only found out due to seeing a couple eating in them one evening.

Overall, the grounds and certain staff are the making of this hotel, but the food NEEDS to be looked at. I believe this hotel would have an ENGLISH STAR RATING of 3/4 but for it to get its 5th star they seriously need to reconsider the food quality and varying the options as it's definitely not 5 star dining.

Stayed at this place for a week in July. We normally have 2 different hotels during our 2 weeks holidays as being at the same one for the whole 14 days anyone can get bored of repetitiveness of food and entertainment. The hotel itself looks impressive with well maintained common areas beautiful pools and manicured lawns. Our room in comparison was somewhat under-loved although clean the finishes were poor. Tiling in the bathroom was very poorly done (with cracked tiles) and badly patched. Toilet paper holder was rusty and the tap handle came off. It's actually unbelievable considering this hotel not even 2 years old. During our stay hotel was only about 1/5 full with lots of Russians although quite well-behaving. Entertainment was lame. Food average at best and gets very repetitive. Inclusive drinks are bad enough with particularly bad wine out of the carton box. The staff is nice but I would question their genuinety as some of them trying badly to get a tip. Overall experience was nice but it could have been better. I will neither be coming back to this hotel nor to this country.

Room Tip: If you choose a room closer to the sea you would have to walk a long way to the main restaurant

An amazing week has been spent in this spell binding hotel and the animation team was great. Besides, the food is mouth watering. There is 5 restaurants : main , italian , french, Hindi and Thi. The rooms were modern and cozy with a lovely scenery facing the sea !!! A well deserved 5 star hotel !!!

2 weeks all inclusive, booked with alpharooms, hotel was amazing gardens, pools and private beach, staff couldn't have been friendlier, absolutely relaxing and hassle free, 6 restaurants plus fish restaurant that you must pay for, other restaurants so good it's a waste of money paying for this as it's quite expensive and a decent bottle of wine would set you back €50 or more, the only other bad restaurant there was the French one but at least it was free, wouldn't be happy if we had to pay for the food there. Entertainment was awful but we made our own, most other guests are Russian. Flew with Turkish airlines best flights and planes I've been on and great service, very hot temps for second week reached 55 degrees, we were there from 22nd June

Room Tip: If you can get flight only this would be good, lots of people just came and paid €30 per night don...

Came to this property on 26 June 2014 after reviewing many hotels in sharm this was our choice. Been to Nabq bay twice so was slightly concerned about the surrounding area of sharks bay but overall wasn't a problem. Taxis to soho square and naama cheap enough.

Landed at the hotel and taken to a table to check in( no standing at a reception) a nice personal touch and a cocktail and towel to boot.

Walked to our room which was in the middle block, beautiful room with sea and pool views. First impression was how quiet the place was but also how immaculate the garden areas were and the general layout of the hotel. Oh and the heat !!!

The room had 2 double beds and all the mod cons, do not disturb and make up room button consoles in room so no hanging notices off the door handles. Fridge well stocked with water and soft drinks and a bottle of wine and biscuits waiting for us. Lovely walk in shower and bed linen to die for.

Had a walk to get our bearings- straight towards the sea and Tiran ( terry) island. The beach area was our favourite. A slight breeze and really nice sun loungers and fixed umbrella type shacks. The towel guys down there were brilliant especially Ibrahim who really went out of his way to help you every time we were down there. We had a cabana for 2 days at about £18 each day. They filled a fridge for you and brought you cocktails food and anything you required. All about 15 feet from the sea. 2 beds in the cabana and 2 in front - felt very special and luxurious - well worth doing.

on the beach you weren't hassled by hawkers. The animation team came to chat but no pressure if you said you were happy enough chilling. Jennifer spent quite a bit of time chatting to us and making us feel very welcomed. Also Ayman the tennis coach has a walk around looking for culprits - take into account the temp rarely dropped under 100 degrees the full week we were there - playing tennis was low on our priorities, Ayman had such a lovely manner and a massive smile and it was fun talking to him. Maria the Russian spa girl came to talk and made us some appointments for the hotel spa which was fab. She even tried to teach us some Russian words - but that was a struggle - Ya tebya lublu !! The Italian beach restaurant did great food and drinks and a varied menu.

Getting to and from the beach was courtesy of a golf buggy with phones at the various stops around the complex. Mohammed from concierge ( a 25 yr old man who looks 12) drove us most days and even let us have a drive ( hope that's not gonna get him in trouble) he was a top lad with a big cheeky smile and could have a good laugh with him. All the guys at the front of house and concierge , guest relations were relaxed and happy to chat.

The restaurants were really good, we did the Italian one night and also the indian as well as the buffet restaurants. A really good choice of quality food, Mohammed in the buffet restaurant made us smile with his cheeky lines. Breakfasts were good also.

The spa was beautiful. We had massages by noura and ghada as well as a pedicure. Very professional and beautifully done out spa. Very reasonable charges too.

The room cleaners were immaculate, our cleaner Mohy was always around for a chat and his towel art was brilliant culminating in a full 2 double bed spread of love heart and initials with petals. it must have took ages and was a special touch.

Outside the hotel there are a few shops, we bought some oils from Adam at shop 30 who was really nice to deal with and a good salesman !! Most of the other shops were much of a muchness.

Did the speedboat hire to tiran island from the guys down on the beach which was brilliant and got to drive the boat. Good snorkelling but no dolphins - shame.

The hotel was only at about 25% occupancy which was good for us as loads of space and attention from the staff. At night things quietened off pretty quickly though. Ashraf in the Churchill bar looked after us well with his cheeky London manner.

One slight matter was with the hotel taxi service, took us to Hollywood and then had no change, to be honest I wasn't bothered about the amount - it was his manner and felt like he was trying it on. He said he would give us the change in the hotel but then seemed to avoid all eye contact when we saw him. No way was I going to ask him for the change. Mentioned it to the manager when we were leaving who immediately went and got it from him. Excellent service all round.

The thing that makes this hotel just right is the attention to detail. The staff are brilliant, the buildings and the pools and the complex itself is stunning and it provided us with just what we needed and expected - pure realaxation and luxury.

We come from Turkey.We had a fantastic stay at this hotel, we cannot fault anything about it. The room was clean and food was great, in particular we liked the choice of the various restaurants the hotel offers. The staff were all brilliant and very friendly
The animation team deserve a special mention especially Mizo & Anastasia who spend time talking and getting to know us. All of the animation staff made us feel welcome and got us involved in various entertainment during the day and especially at the night time shows.
We want come back soon again, especially for Mizo and Anastasia..
