Service - second to none all the staff could not do more for you, very helpful and made the stay very relaxing.
Location - For us was perfect outside the hustle and bustle of Nama Bay
Food - great selection of food (buffet, pizza, pasta, set menu, etc) and out of 5 of us no-one had an upset stomach. There was something for everyone for each meal and during our stay of 1 week we did not get bored of the food.
Price - When you consider what you get for your money it is well priced and all food and drinks included.
Snorkeling - Brilliant coral, sting rays, lion fish, eels, schools of fish, absolutely superb and a massive highlight to this hotel. The sea is access through a jetty but when you get in it the view is great. A previous reviewer complained about the coral all being dead etc etc he obviously hasn't been to too many other placed around the world to compare it too....
Rooms - basic a little dated but had everything you need, were very clean and some lovely touches of towel art every time your room is cleaned.
Entertainment - the hotel is fairly small compared to others in Sharks Bay so if you want to be entertained morning noon and night then this is limited. It was enough for what we was looking for and didn't want a full on service where we were hassled every 2 minutes to get involved. Had a good balance between adult/children activities. Plenty to offer if you wanted it, diving, snorkelling, boat trips, table tennis, pool, dancing, competitions, chill out sheisha pipes etc etc.

We had some minor problems as you do wherever you go but these were resolved quickly and with a smile.

Overall a lovely stay for us all (2 couples & mum) would definitely recommend this hotel. We selected it purely on trip advisor rating vs. price and we were not disappointed at all.

I arrived back from Egypt this week and wasn't disappointed with the Sharks Bay at all!! Try not to take any notice of the bad reviews written on here because the hotel is lovely and offers great value for money-and that is what most hotels in Egypt offer, value for money which people must take into account before they travel to Egypt. Everybody should realise that a five star hotel by British standards is different to what a Five star hotel is in Egypt. Anyway...
This is my second visit to Egypt, and my parents have stayed at the Hilton a few times now so i decided to go and see it for myself. We arrived there about 8 at night and got a taxi to the hotel from the airport, which only cost us 5 english pounds and took around 10 minutes. We were quickly taken to our room which was, nice clean, tidy and had a balcony with sea view. Also, there is a fridge and they provide bottled water in the room each day. There is also kettle in the room so you can make tea and coffee if you want, plus a TV and radio (which you can also plug your ipod in to, so no need to take ipod speakers for the room!). The bathroom was also very clean and a good size. The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were located in the main hotel building, which is close to the reception, restaurants, the pools and the Chill Out Bar. These rooms are about a 5-10 minute walk from the beach and down a hill, but it's not as far as some people make out. If you would rather be close to the beach, then try to request a room near there.

There are two restaurants, one Italian (where you can order freshly made pizza, pasta, and waffles with icecream) and they also have a different three course meal everyday if you'd prefer. The main restaurant is located above the Italian and is a buffet which consists of different cooked meats each night, deserts, salads, fruits, breads, rice etc..So there is a large selection to choose from when it comes to your evening meal. The food is always fresh and very well cooked! This is also served from 1830-2230 so you never have to rush to be ready on time for your evening meal. The main restaurant also provides breakfast from 06.30-11, and here you can get eggs, toast, beans, sausages, cereal, fruit, theu usual, but all fresh. For lunch you can either have a sandwhich down at the Sunset Bar near the beach, or lunch around the pool, which is burger, chips, hotdogs, sanwhiches etc..Basically at the Sharks Bay they serve food and drink from 630 in the morning until 2 the next morning, as they provide sandwiches and soup in the Chill Out from about 11ish at night. Absoloutly eveything is All-Inclusive so there is no need to worry about them charging little extras for things here and there (unlike the hotel I stayed in last year). As mentioned, there are two bars the Sunset Bar near the beach, open til 12, and the Chill Out Bar located in the main hotel open until 2, and also they have entertainment on here every night. If you don't fancy staying around the hotel at night, it's only a 15 minute taxi ride into Namma Bay, where there are bars, shops, and restaurants.

There are four pools all kept very clean, the main pool which is busy, (where the swim-up bar is) but we always managed to get sunbeds no matter what time of day. I preferred it around the main pool as there was always something going on and pretty lively. However there are three other pools which are very quiet , and there is also the beach which is also a good place to chill. At the beach you can go snorkelling which is fab. The sea is clear and warm, and there are loads of fish to around to see. You have to walk accross a jetty to get to the into sea, but this is because the Egyptians are protecting the Coral!

One night we paid extra to have a candlelit meal on the Beach, and this was fab and well worth the money we paid. We had Champaigne on ice, a three course meal all freshly cooked and waiter service. You can organise this through reception...

Also we visted the waterpark one day, which is free for Hilton guests and a fun day out. You can either get a taxi or go on the hotel mini bus which we did. This only cost 1.50 each way. Again just ask reception to organise this.
We didn't book any of the trips as we were here for a relaxing, chill out type of holiday, but all trips can be organised quite easliy.

The staff are also great at the Hilton. They are all friendly, helpful, happy, cheery, and will go out of there way for you. They don't put any pressure on you to tip them, but they are all so lovely that you should try to tip them anyway!

Also take note that the Hilton have just extended and there is a brand new block accross the road. It was just about to open the day we left so a went for a sneaky look, and it's absoloutly gorgeous, so if you do happen to be allocated in this block don't feel disappointed, beacause if/when i go back, I would love to stay in the new Hilton extension (Sharks Bay 2).

All in all this was a fab holiday. Lovely Hotel, can't fault anything, but I always say keep an open mind if you have never vistied Egypt before as i know it's not to everyones taste. I did happen to get a little bit of stomach ache the day we left, but this has nothing to do with the food. More like too much sun (as it is very hot!), and not drinking enough water. People are wrong when they blame the food..Would deffo go back!!

We booked this trip last year for our honeymoon this September, based on how cheap it was for two weeks all inclusive. We had a limited time window to get away after our wedding and as we wanted somewhere a little "different" we thought Sharm el Sheikh would suit our needs. Our flights were booked with Futura who went out of business the week before we were due to depart, but we were booked on an alternative flight (Koral Blue - Egyptian airline). The outward flight from Dublin was delayed by two hours, not the end of the world.

We were the last drop off from the airport which was an hour instead of the 10 minutes away that it is. On arrival at the hotel we were hugely underwhelmed by its enterance after seeing other hotels on the jpurney there with their long palm tree lined driveways and stunning views. In the hilton you drive in the front gate and the door is 20 metres away. The reception in the hotel is quite dated - as is the hotel overall. We were shown to our room which was on the 3rd floor, with no lift. The room was a little smaller and more basic than we excpected.

The next morning we joined the welcome meeting which seemed to be just to sell trips more so than give local information.(Thomas Cook was agent) We were looking for a relaxing holiday by the pool and the first week delivered on this. Any children that were there were small toddlers so suited us perfectly. There was a review on here that we read before we left which stated the hotel was "the most bristish resort outside of UK". We took this with a pinch of salt. However the hotel was about 90% occupied by Eglish people (My new wife joked that I was in the minority with a full head of hair and no tatoos) There seemed to be alot of guests returning for a second or third time - good or bad sign?! The service in the hotel was superb and they really couldn't have done more for us.

On our second week Ramadam finished and the hotel descended into chaos!! The hotel was taken over by Egyptian families with children of all ages. The children had no respect for the staff and ran amok around the pool and restaurant areas and when the staff looked to their parents for correction, the parents chastised the staff for giving out to their child. We just found their attitude incredible - so ignorant!! It put a dampner on the second week of our honeymoon.

We booked to go on the Thomas Cook trip to St. Catherines Monastery to get away for a day. It was a 6 am pick up from our hotel and supposed to be a 2 hr journey. By the time we got around to all the hotels and picked up other people, we got the there at 10.30. We spent about 40mins at the monastery and didn't really get any explanation of what was coming next or how the day was going to run. We left there and were brought for lunch, after which we were brought to the next town up the coast from Naama Bay, Dahab. Here we were ushered into shops which were more like pop up shops that had appeared over night and the guide seemed to be best buddies with the owners. We were encouraged to buy only from these shops and not from any of the others in town. We weren't even made aware that we would be stopping in this town, let alone stopping there for an hour to shop where there were no shops - very strange!! All along the tour we were encouraged to buy other trips etc and all in all it felt like a bit of a con to try and sell sell sell instead of being a trip to a monastery.

We left the hotel on a couple of nights to eat out and we'd reccomend this to escape the cabin fever. Restaurants at Savoy hotel up the road, The Four Seasons, The Hyatt and into Naama Bay.

Our return flight was booked for 23.30 on the Sunday night which we were informed on the Thursday was now changed to 07.30 on the Sunday morning, effectively meaning we would lose a day. We were collected from the hotel at 4.00am and arrived at the airport at 5.20am to see that the flight was delayed until 13.00. The Thomas Cook agents knew of this delay before they collected us and probably before we went to bed the previous night - could they not have left us in bed rther than sit in the airport?! All in all there no help from the staff at the airport and we managed to get on our flight without their assistance as they left.
To sum up, a dated hotel which offers decent food and good service. Would we reccomend it? NO.
To cut a long story short we arrived back in Dublin on Sunday evening and were glad to be home, never to return to Sharm El Sheikh again.

Just got back from a week at Hilton Sharks Bay. This was our second visit to Sharm. We got the hotel to book us a taxi this was £6.00 and the guy was waiting for us when we arrived. We were asked when we arrived if we wanted to upgrade, we said no and were shown to our room. The room was very basic and overlooked the reception. We asked to have a look at the upgraded room (sea view) and this was much better. It cost £15.00 pounds a night extra though. The room had seen better days and was starting to look tired, it had a very nice view though which was useful as I spent three days in bed with a stomache bug (had all my meals at the hotel and took precautions), which was very unpleasant. I left if for a day and asked the hotel reception for advice and they got me some tablets for £1.00. The tablets actually made me worse and made me have to rush to the bathroom 20 minutes after I had taken then. I googled the tablets to see what they were, they were actually antibiotics which kill all the bacteria in your gut. The problem is they kill good and bad bacteria. I actually felt better before taking them. A few days later while stood at reception for five minutes counted five people coming to reception for tablets, so I was'nt the only one.

The food was average with a buffett in the upstairs restaurant and pizzas and pasta in the Italian downstairs. The staff in the restaurants were mainly very helpful and could not do enough for you.

The hotel is on a slope, reception on the top off the slope with the apartments leading down to the sea. We had a room with a seaview and I must admit we did get sick of having to walk up the hill to get our evening meals ( I am 34 and fit).

The beach is very small and most of the sunbeds are on terraces which gradually lead down to the sea. To access the sea you have to walk across a pontoon over the coral. The sea is quite deep and there is no access from the beach. The coral is very poor and would not be surprised if they was anything left in five years (saw people climbing and touching the coral and even feeding the fish)

Before I got sick we divided our time between the Sunset bar and chillout bar. The sunset bar was supposed to be open to 2am but shut at 12. The chillout bar stayed open quite late bit did end up looking like an a Egyption disco later on.

To sum the holiday up, the Hilton Sharks bay was a big let down. We stayed at the Melia Sinai last year and that hotel was a league above the Hilton. I would not stay here again. I must admit being poorly didnt help matters, but I just expected more and was very dissappointed with the hotel.
