The Hilton at Sharks Bay has gone from strength to strength. My second visit in the last 4 months and over Easter 2014 had a great time.
The hotel has some new food events (Bar B Que night, Salad bars and new menu items in the Italian Bistro and Asia Restaurant)
The stafff are world class - the most helpful I have ever encountered.
As a senior solo guy I felt as if I had 100's friends with me.
I'm going back just to perfect being lazy in the sun!

Stayed at The Hilton Sharks Bay for 1 week in April 2014, 2 adults and 1 child 14. Only 20 mins from airport, so after landing was in hotel very quickly. Check in was efficient, but not welcoming. We were staying in the new half, which was a shuttle or golf buggy away from the reception, but definitely, the better half to stay in. Concierge were very helpful and engaging.
Room was excellent, spacious clean and well equipped, we stayed in a delux room.
The rooms were cleaned daily, and were always spotless, and the daily question of what the housekeeper would design out of the towels, kept us amused every day.
The Air conditioning in the room was powerful, but it was better than it not working, but during the night, would sometimes turn it off, just for the quiet.
There were 3 large pools, 2 not heated and were particularly cold, the heated was fine, plenty of sunbeds, although on a few days, the wind made it impossible to put up the parasol, and as the temperature was always in the mid 30s, this did cause a slight problem.
The food was a slight disappointment, the main buffet restaurant, was at best average, ok for breakfast and a light lunch, but dinner was very ordinary, so booked the Italian for the last 3 nights, which was very good, the cost is only £2 per person booking fee, so a no brainer really, but it gets booked up very quickly, so book early.
Also tried the Asian Restaurant, which is priced at full menu price, so our bill for the 1meal for 3 with no starter and desert was £60 and the food was disappointing.
Overall, a very good holiday and excellent value for money, the hotel was very good, apart from the buffet restaurant, but having only paid £600 for the hotel for the week all inclusive, was happy to work around the dinner meals.
The staff were mixed, between those who were working towards a tip, being very attentive, sometimes over attentive, and those, who were not in a position to be expecting a tip, e.g Guest Services, Front Desk, very abrupt and matter of fact.

Room Tip: Ask for new half of hotel rooms 2001- upwards

What can I say once again a great holiday made very special by all the staff especially sameh and his warm welcome from the front desk. Food was improving daily and the restaurant manager couldn't have been more attentive. This Hotel consistently delivers year after year on service and really listens to the guests and reacts accordingly. Capo was great organizing the most amazing boat trip for 13 of us from sharks bay made very special by seeing dolphins thanks Capo we will definitely be back to see you ....
Hilton sharks bay has the most amazing house reef and the snorkeling is fabulous ...this was our seventh visit and won't be our last see you soon HSB x

This one from the best hotel in the world which's has a very good service with a great hospitality, I'm feeling lucky so i recommend this hotel because the great service and the quality of food was amazing and also the ambient was fantastic

First holidays with my children we enjoyed and send good days in this resort
Excellent staff, looking after you all the time. the food is not good.
but Restaurant staff are doing great job.

Animation team is great! doing great job! All of them come to you and every other guest, very lovely, friendly people.especially AYA , RONY always smiling,active,friendly, my son enjoy with them in kids club and in ester day them doing amazing job and games outside kids in this day we come again to see aya and rony because my son love them

Overall we won't have enough space to mention every name who was there for us. Therefore we want thanks everyone , AYA and RONY especial thanks to them them make our holiday

Cleanness is not perfect, but staff trying their best. We went for holidays, not comparing how clean hotels is.

Excellent holidays. Definitely recommend! Coming back next year xxx

I have visited various Hilton hotels and resorts around the world and am usually, as a Hilton HHonors Gold member, treated with the special "we love to have you here". However, this time we have not had the feeling to stay in a Hilton Resort nor did we experience any special treatment. We have been at the Hilton Sharks Bay Resort from 16-22 April 2014 and are still wondering why the guests receive different color wrist bands if the treatment is equal.

The hotel wireless network does not work in the hotel rooms but only the lobby. All guests gather prior and after lunch and dinner time in the lobby and in peak times it can also happen that the network will become reaaaaly slow….

Last but not least: no reply from the hotel manager please – you have had one week time to engage and I really do not need the usual template answer.

2nd visit here. returned because of easy access to beach & good snorkelling. Would really like to say 3/4 rating.
First - service on arrival excellent. Rooms exactly as required & asked for. Rooms large, airy, & clean. Walk-in shower & soft towels. Water in fridge & 2 beers, coke, lemonade, & fruit. (It is a hot country so a certain amount of discolouratuion of tiles must be expected)
Good regular bus service to & from beach.
Plenty of beach towels. Water sports well arranged but there are many boats rushing about at times which made petrol fumes to waft about.
Good food for first 3 days of holiday which included roast duck, beef wellington, roast beef , whole fish on service pass as well as various dishes containing chicken ,grilled fish, thai curry etc. Enjoyed meal in Rustico.

Staff were excellent except for the barmen in the Olympic bar who just did not seem to care how they served you or even if they wanted to serve you; & one other waiter in the Waves bar. Perhaps these need more customer relation training?
Food at Sunset bar definitely not as good as remembered & we used to enjoy having breakfast here on our previous visit. Perhaps this will commence agian when the refurbishment is completed?
BUT this seemed to be a holiday of 2 halves. On 4th day there was an influx of Egyptian holiday makers , well we were in their country! But food for rest of week went downhill ; only seemed to be koftas, chicken & burgers at every meal. The cleanliness of the 'El Mattam' restaurant was not good anymore; tables not cleared & relaid, large queues for plates & food was not replaced fast enough for the numbers of people waiting. We had to leave the Sunset Bar on the Saturday lunchtime because the state of the tables were disgusting. I think this was not due to the staff but the people who were actually making the mess. In fact, on the Thursday & friday there seemed to be less staff on duty to do the same amount of work.
As mentioned garden s are well kept but perhaps more emphasis is now needed on the maintenance of other areas.. New sunbeds are needed around pools. Several items & objects need repairing around the pool & beach area before more serious accidents happen.
Suggestion- would be nice to have a bar lounge area where we could have gone to after evening meal to sit as a family & talked or had a quiet game without entertainment being provided. Only realised we could take older children into Q bar on last night.
At the end of the week we did all enjoy our week. The children have said they would come again. Good location for pool & beach lovers. Staff really make this hotel. Also management are a lot more approachable and evident than they were 3 years ago.
There are mossies here! Be prepared!
