“Execellent holiday but neeed some improvements”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We booked this hotel via EasyJey holiday, it was a week all inclusive, with baggage and airport car parking for under £700pp.

The hotel itself is really nice, large and spacious, it is so clean everywhere. The room is large, the air conidition works really well, bed is very confortable, the deco and finish in the bathroom is below average, but this what I'm expected.

The food that is included in our package was ok, the buffet was below average some day, the choice is quite limited. Also the restaurant is like a massive green house, so ask to sit in the shade if you can.

There are few a la carte restaurants other than the buffet restaurant, they provide menu which is included in your all inclusive package. You have to book the table in advance. We went for the paid option and the food was fantastic, worth every penny. They also offer a beach dinner, it was excellent food, romantic setting (the next table was about 300 yards away so we were "alone" on the beach). The only light we had was the tea light candles and the full moon, and the wave from sea was your background music, it was a lovely experience for very little £££!

Staff are really friendly and welcoming, service can be a bit slow as they just haven't got enough staff.

Also the location of this hotel is really secured, there is a security gate, then you have to go through the metal detector. We wondered outside the hotel and other hotels just hasn't got the same level of security.

Beware that the photographor and the spa sales guy, they patrol the hotel all day by the pool. They ask you everytime they walk pass you to try to sell you stuff, they are pleasant enough and don't hassle you like they do on the street, but it's annoying enough when you are trying to relax.

Over all it was a lovely holiday, will go back again for sure.

Room Tip: I would try to avoid the main pool area if you want a more quiet room.

Have been to Egypt before & decided to try out this hotel / resort. Myself, daughter (25) son (7) & my father (80). Staff are exceptionally wonderful & will cater for your every need. Waleed & Emil @ the water sports hut are very funny, friendly guys. All the waiters are totally wonderful & worth their weight in gold ! Animation team worked well & tried very hard to get as many people involved as possible, but if your like me & just want to lay horizontal all day their job is even harder ! Special mention to Gemma (only english lady in animation team) she was a sweetheart, very friendly & willing to help you with anything. The whole animation team engaged more of the guests during their evening entertainment, which was fun. Food was great, plenty of options for everyone to choose from. The italian restaurant, (which you need to book & are allowed to visit only once during your stay) was superb, if you are willing to pay for a meal from their menu (as opposed to the all inclusive menu) you will be in for a right treat, it was truly scrumptious ! Hassem, our room cleaner, was very nice, our rooms were cleaned superbly & there was always some lovely towel art on our beds, which my son very much enjoyed ! The chaps in the towel hut can't do enough for you & if you ask for the red 'do not disturb sign' you will not get bothered by the pool, personally I liked chatting to the different members of the resort buts its your personal preference I guess ! The only thing I would say to watch out for is the chap opposite the reception offering excursions. I booked for my son & daughter to go swimming with the dolphins & will say it was a complete waste of money. Took 40 mins to get there, we were promised a show which never happened & when it was our turn to get in with the dolphons & a group of 6 others it was very rushed & you got maximum 10 mins with the dolphins with the others in your group, I would not book this again ! there are a number of swimming pools but we stuck to the lower one right next to the beach as my son liked to alter between the beach & the pool, pool was a bit salty but OK. I would definately recommend this resort & we will be going back !

Room Tip: We had rooms in the 3000 block - a side view of the sea - to be honest I don't mind what rooms I...

Have recently returned (May 2013) from our second a 2 week stay at the Hilton waterfalls and again we werent disappointed. I emailed the hotel prior to our stay to request the same room we stayed in last time we visited the Waterfalls and they returned my email promptly stating they would do everything they could to accommodate my request, upon checking in we were given the room I requested and welcomed to our swecond stay with them. The hotel staff can't do enough for you and are always smiling and willing to help with anything they can. The animation team, especially Jemma, Nastia and Mido; these guys did a great job, getting me, my partner and our friends involved in some of the activites, nice to chat to them each morning and get some recommendations for places to visit outside of the hotel, these guys did a great job. Hotel rooms had been refurbed since our first visit in 2010, comfy beds, ice cold air con, towels and bedding changed daily, soft bathrobes and a good choice of satellite TV channels on the LCD TV in the room! There's a great variety of food available in the main restaurant, something to cater for everyone's taste - restaurant staff are always eager to help too. The facilities at the hotel are excellent, 7 pools - must mention Mustafa who deals with beach towels at the main pool - remembered us each day, welcomed everyone with a smile, decent gym (although there does need to be a better selection of weights in there!) plenty of sunbeds around every pool, a good selection of restaurants, including the Verdi (Italian) Shish Bish (Lebanese) and Paradise Reef which you can book once each per week during your stay. The hotel reef is excellent, spent many hours out there taking lots of amazing pictures of the wildlife, highly recommend getting in the water! The grounds of the hotel are immaculate, maintained daily as is the interior of the hotel itself.
We went as 2 couples and the hotel caters for everyone young and old, we are looking forward to our third visit!

Been to Sharm once before and would say this is very good value for money, as long as you book on a discounted deal. It's nowhere near 5 star but a good cheap week away.

Summary of visit

Positives
- Food is very good. A real surprise as all inclusive esp at this level often bland and uninspiring. Meats were tender and well seasoned. Could do with more fruit options though (red watermelon in plentiful supply, but little else). Deserts are generally bland, but this is true of all sharm hotels so not a criticism.

- Pool area (we were down near the beach pool) are generally clean and beds are comfortable. However, there are a LOT of kids so be prepared to plug in an iPod as can often feel like a crèche! Otherwise, the pool at the top near reception is child free, but less umbrellas to shield from 40 degree heat.

- Gym is very well equipped and air conditioned. Far better than expectations

Negatives
- Other hotel residents have a varied view on manners. As Brits we love a queue, but be ready to stand your ground on queue jumping for tables at breakfast and lack of general manners around the resort.

-Rooms are tired. There was some refurb work starting, so assume they are taking this on board, but in comparison to the Sensorati the resort is in need of some tlc (although food last year at Sensorati bland, despite surroundings being better)

- Wifi is unreasonably expensive and frankly a disgrace. They quote 500 Egyptian pounds per week (£50) per device. We had 3 devices and they tried to charge us 1500! Luckily the person i travelled with negotiated us a deal for 3 devices, 1 week, 50 Egyptian pounds, so it shows they are profiteering from this. They shouldn't charge in the first place, but even a nominal charge would be better than what they are currently doing

Tips
-Pick up a "Please do not disturb" red sign every day at the same time as getting towels, this will stop the constant sales pitches and being bothered by staff. As two females on holiday, this was a welcome relief as we watched others get hounded

-Sit on the right hand side for breakfast, near the food area, as the left hand side of building is exposed to sun through large panels of glass and seriously hot! Uncomfortable when you are trying to dine.

We are a well-travelled mother and daughter used to good quality holidays. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, everything was well up to standard. The rooms were clean, and although we had a basic room it was large and well-furnished.

The cuisine was "international" meaning no chicken nuggets and chips which suited us just fine. Although there was not a huge variation between nights there were always different kinds of meats, all of which were well cooked. For breakfast there was a team of two chefs who would cook eggs any way you liked - yummy!

The additional restaurants we tried (paradise reef and verdi bistro) provided a nice change and the service was excellent.

There are two things that really made this hotel stand out for us. The first is the cleanliness. Everything is clean and hygienic; there are even handwash dispensers outside of all the toilets and in the restaurant to provide extra hygiene. The pool areas are well looked after and maintained. We spent most of our time in the children-free Chillax pool area, which was nice and quiet.

The best thing was undoubtedly the service; all of the staff without exception bend over backwards to accommodate you - nothing is too much bother and you never feel like you are being a pain. They provide true "service with a smile" and it's because of this that we plan to return to Hilton Sharm Waterfalls again.

(oh and the snorkelling is fantastic!)

Room Tip: Main part of the hotel close to the amphitheater can be a little noisy during the shows at night but...

As a family of three, two adults and our son of 9 years, we first went to this hotel for two weeks, Easter 2013. At this time we had a beautiful room, ground floor, near to Tipsy Turtle beach bar. Wow superb room, superb view. We had a fantastic stay, despite the hotel being very busy and full to capacity. We actually returned within four weeks for our second holiday because our son had got hooked on scuba diving, on the Easter trip. We returned so that he could take his first Padi qualification ( Seal Team ) now he had had his ninth birthday.

We retuned on 5th may 2013. What a difference from the first stay. Obviously Easter is a busy holiday period, we noticed on this stay that the hotel was quieter and that there had been some changes. This does go to show that the management team do listen to feedback.

On arrival we were taken to our room, this was close to the room on our previous stay, again by the main pool and near to Tipsy Turtle beach bar, fantastic view, ground floor, easy to access pool area from room. The room was very spacious. It was kept immaculate by the housekeeping team. We had lovely touches such as towel sculptures, which gave us a smile and edible gift platters throughout our stay. Toiletries were replaced as required, bedding was changed every other day. Rooms are also of a good size, with a lovely terrace or balcony. Would recommend you pack a tin of mosquito spray, we sprayed our room prior to going to dinner in the evening. Be careful of sitting outside at sunrise and sunset, one can get bitten more by Mosquitos at these times. Tip - hotel shop near to reception sells excellent bite cream far more effective than creams bought in UK.

Pools- there are 7 pools in this hotel. The pool we used was the main pool overlooking the sea. This is a saltwater pool, whist it was not heated it had been warmed by the sun and was very pleasant to swim, in the hot sunshine. Pool areas are immaculate, the pool guys are all really helpful, hardworking and friendly, they will help you put up your umbrella and move around sun beds to suit your needs. Even though the hotel was really busy during our first stay, we never felt overcrowded and there was always a sun bed to be had. We also noted that some latecomers to the pool area were always found sun beds by the pool guys. Swim towels can be collected from the swimming pool cabana, this is found directly opposite to the steps of the paradise reef restaurant, also near to the lower swimming pool bridge. The swimming pool cabana also houses a book exchange, table tennis bats and even reading glasses!!! Tip - if you do not wish to be sold trips, spa etc a card can also be obtained from the pool cabana which you can tie to your sun umbrella stating shhh relaxing, sellers will then respect the fact you do not wish to be disturbed if the card is displayed. There are also two heated pools these are at the top of the resort, near to the spa, we did wander up, the water felt lovely and warm, we did not use them as our room was near to the main pool. There is also the chillax pool for adults. This is near to the main restaurant, a lovely sunny and quiet spot, child free, again we did not use this area, but it always looked lovely. You can sit in peace and look at the sea below. There is a small children's pool next to the main pool, this is a popular spot for young families. There are plenty of sun umbrellas throughout the resort these are really needed in the heat of the midday sun !!!

Pool Bars, as previously mentioned we used the Tipsy Turtle bar, this area has stools around the bar and also booths with tables, good fun spot to people watch and look at the sea below. This bar opens at around 9am when the all inclusive kicks in. Great coffee and ice cream throughout the day. There is a good selection of all inclusive cocktails, soft drinks and local spirits, as well as the afore mentioned coffee and ice cream on tap. It would appear that the ice cubes are not made from tap water. Tip - we used straws in our drinks therefore minimising the risk of a jippy tummy, these are plentiful, in tubs around the bar. Tipsy Turtle can be busy at times, we then used the pool bar over the main pool bridge, lovely spot, great friendly and efficient service. However our favourite spot for a daytime drink was the On The Rocks bar, if you walk along from Tipsy Turtle, past ocean college dive centre, you will see On The Rocks, so lovely, seating on tables on the beach overlooking the sea and floating jetty. There are also beach areas to sunbathe on, two are raised up overlooking the sea, alongside two Lower beaches by the water, leading towards the two hotel jettys. These are floating jettys, the bigger of the two is used for snorkelling and diving, the second smaller jetty is utilised for bringing in small boats for the water sports as well as snorkelling. In certain sea conditions the jettys can be closed for safety reasons, on a chequered flag generally. White and red flags flying are for calmer sea conditions and dictate the jetty is open. Closed jettys do not affect those wishing to scuba dive. Ocean College Diving is also based at this hotel, we used Ocean College for scuba diving, very professional, fantastic equipment and very safety conscious, very very highly recommended, for all diving abilities. Even if you have not dived, give their scuba diving experience a go, I'm not a water lover and tried it Amazing !!!!! Think I was brave at the time saw some stunning fish and coral in the house reef, ask for Eslam a very patient instructor!!! If this is not your thing ocean college also hires out snorkelling equipment for both adults and kids and offers some fantastic boat trips for snorkelling and diving whatever your ability, at very competitive prices. Also really good for kids. Kids have to be 8 years and can do a Padi Bubblemaker in the main pool. Do give it a go if your kids are interested, it's given our son a whole new hobby and bags of confidence. Ocean college is found at the bottom of the resort near to main pool and paradise reef restaurant. There are also other water sports on offer banana boats, paragliding etc, vendors wander around if you are interested, looked like fun!!!!
There is a hotel animation team, so much on offer, stretch and tone seemed popular but also lots of other activities on offer, animation team come round encouraging people to join in. There is also a kids club, I cannot comment on this but the little ones seemed to be having a great time when we saw them, the kids club has a designated unit near to the spa at the top of the resort. The animation also run evening events in the ampi theatre as well as taking younger guests to the various clubs of Sharm . one highlight of the week is the Thursday evening beach party for adults and kids. This is on the hotel beach. Sadly the only niggle of the whole holiday was one english member of the animation team, this element had nothing to do with the hotel at all, the animation is run by a separate company. He would have been better suited in a two star hotel in Benidorm, his loud and common manner disrupted the pool area on a daily basis.

Restaurants - we used The main restaurant. This restaurant tries very hard to cater for all tastes and food requirements. The menu is changed for every lunch and evening meal with a really good variety of hot and cold dishes. We noticed various improvements in the month that we returned. The ambience of the restaurant was changed with some lovely palm plants dotted around separating areas of the restaurant. The cooking stations were also made more attractive with displays of bottled oils etc. We always found a great choice of salads and fresh breads. Various cooking stations with fresh pasta, roasted meats and an outside BBQ, we had some great steaks, fish and duck. I can honestly say everyone of different cultures were well catered for, obviously not Michelin starred, but a great choice and well cooked for the amount of people and different tastes being catered for, we had no complaints and no bad tummies!!!! We did not use the other restaurants but they do form part of the all inclusive once each per weekly stay. These need to be booked at a certain time of the day,in the morning by the shopping arcade of the hotel ( near reception). Our favourite bar to have a coffee, cocktail or drink was in Latinos, really nice spot you can also get ice cream in Latinos throughout day. ( Latinos is next to main restaurant at far end, near to chillax pool doors) Tip - for breakfast we went early around 6.45 am much cooler at this time under the glass atrium. A good time for dinner about 7.30 pm. We did have lunch in the main restaurant a couple of times but quite warm, so instead opted for Paradise Reef by the main pool, cool inside, or outside on covered terrace. Great choice of snacks recommend the kebabs very tasty, thin fries non greasy with mayonnaise yum! Also fresh daily choice of two salad dishes, fresh bread, soup choice and deserts. You can also book a romantic dinner on the beach with candles etc, this does not form part of the all inclusive, but nice for a special treat and did not appear to be too expensive, a choice of four set menus. Latinos also has a steak menu again not part of the all inclusive.

All in all this was a lovely return, quieter outside of school holiday time, but even in busy periods you did not feel overcrowded. Fantastic view from room and of course great weather. Thanks to all the wonderful, hardworking staff, they are a credit to this hotel. Big Thanks also to Taha Hussein the front desk manager, we had a lovely second holiday. My husband forgot his blackberry charger, which he needed for work purposes, the front desk team were kind enough to loan him one for our stay, now that's service for you. We plan to return for a third stay in October this year.

Room Tip: Lower rooms by main pool worth paying a supplement for view and pool access.

Just got back from two weeks. This was our first visit to Egypt, and am very pleased we chose this hotel. 50th Birthday for my husband, Cleaners brought a cake to the room when they saw the birthday cards. A nice touch. Romantic dinner on the beach........ not sure what we ate it was so dark, but was a nice evening
Room lovely with great view, 1409. Very clean, great towel art every day, bottled water and fresh bed linen every day was great. Chillax pool was where we spent most of our time, Sayed Hassan was the most friendly helpfull pool man with fresh towels, cold water spary and iced flannel just as you thought you would melt. Mr coffee Ahmed Taha was there at breakfast at 6 30 with a smile and still there in the evening with a happy wave. Imran the main restaurant manager made everyone feel special, and if you asked would do what he could to make you happy . The chef made me gluten free bread, I asked for chees to make rolls at lunch time, no trouble. The manager, chef, and staff really do want you to enjoy your meal. The waiters work so hard a big thank you to Karim and Mohamed el Sayed who made the day by keeping the drinks flowing. Some of the guests could be very rude but they kept smiling. The shops are expensive and would advise you go to the supermarket a short walk away. The food was a bit hard going some days, and a trip to Mc Donnalds had to be done ! More plain food would be good.
The entertainment needs to be improved, we did not go once as what was on offer sounded boreing, however Gemma does keep trying to her credit. All the staff were good and nothing was any trouble. I got the dreaded bug but after a visist to the pharmacy by hubby I was better within a day.Hand sanitiser is everywhere and it really is clean here. The toilets are cleaned what seemed like every half hour. A couple of bites, but nothing that bothered us. Spa treatments were ok but a bit expensive, we went a lot and it seemed rushed, with staff more interested in selling you products. Would be nice to have an adults only place to chill and , and I can't wait . Patsy and Paul
