I adore travelling.
In 2009 I have chosen this hotel by internet and catalog pictures mostly for its really wide beach and absolutely amazing panoramic view from the main building. And now I realize that I've made the right choice.
Since then I have visited this hotel 7 times and would definitely go there again and again.
My friends and I used to live in all parts of this hotel, i.e. resort, villas and the main building.
Well to be specific, each area has its own pluses and disadvantages but I ususally come to any location in the world primarily for its nature, sightseeng, environment, etc. not to the hotel itself. It's just the area for temporary accomodation, just a shelter in a new place for achieving the main goal - to observe, discover and get maximum impressions.
The best and the greenest among three hotels we used to live in Sharm and also from those we had a chance to see from outside while walking around. There's always a place for meditation and privacy.
There are three receptions: main, resort and villas. Tell your guide where you need to go. As SPG members we check-in pretty fast, normally before 2 p.m. If you have specific requirements, it's better to arrange them with your travel agent or, if you travel by yourself - contact the representative by phone or mail. We always had the same room so we just make sure that it's cleaned and ready. We always had the same high quality service.
SEA & REEF
The coral reef in Sheraton is one of the best in Sharm. Alive, stunning, colorful and full of flora and fauna world! Those reefs seen in Thailand, Maldives and other places were quite emaciate.. Sure I aware that there are different places and islands in these countries.. I can describe only something I saw by myself.
So, here are what we saw at Sheraton's reef: reef groupers, blue, black and white moray eels, one of them (big light blue) lives near the pontoon bridge, Blue Spotted Stingray, Giant Moray Eel, Carpet Flathead Fish (Crocodilefish), Lionfish (Turkeyfish), different types of clownfish, Picasso Trigger Fish, Masked Puffers, Masked Butterfly Fish, Emperor Angelfish, lots of Smooth cornetfish, etc, etc. The most fascinating, undoubtedly was meeting the 8-meters long whale shark in just of couple of meters underneath right near the home reef. Great luck and real pleasure because they usually don't come so close to the shore.
In december 2010, when sharks attacks were at its highest, we dicided not trying to test their natural predator abilities and stayed away from the sea.
In a nutshell, if you search for the great diving experience and are following all the rules - this is the best place in Sharm.
Talking to many people I know, I have to admit that perfectionism is the great burden. :) Nobody's guaranteed from any lapses even in highest quality hotels. The point is how we react on them.
We found the rooms and views great everywhere. Small funny things like falling off shower cap or shrilling alarm in the night can disturb but take them as an exception. All main building's rooms are facing the sea. We usually take the 6th SPG members floor. Those who likes to live in direct proximity to all the hotel's restaurants, activities and entertainments - it's for you. Fast & easy access to the sea by panoramic elevators. Hotel's music when TV's turned on is playng even in the bathroom.. great relaxation ))
If you want to be around people - choose main building or resort condos. Seeking for more privacy - go to villas. For us it just depends on our mood and type of planned activities.
For these years many of the staff members are already known by names, they remember even how many times you have visited the hotel! ))) They are definitely affable and ready to help. They did a great job during Sinai flood in 2010. We had some fixable issues regarding specific persons, but it's natural. All people are different.
Just one simple rule. Remember to be polite as well. Positiveness and smile is the best way to communicate in any part of the world! :)
Quite critical issue for many people. I personally eat to live, not vice versa, which makes life easier. It's always enough for me in any hotel. Soups, meat, fish, good breakfast, green tea, etc. Anything for a balanced eater.
SPA & MEDICAL POOL
The best is the medical pool with sea water and all kinds of showers. I temporarily became a pure hedonist. :)
Ras Mohammed conservation is a must-see place, at least once. Tiran is the next point of interest. We went to Dahab, great views and sea with all those sandbars..Water parks are great as well. Naama bay is the center of shopping and clubbing. Great shows in the old city.
Will gladly answer any questions.
