“Excellent Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

We stayed for 10 nights, the room was spacious, only minor problem was we could not find the aircon controls, this is situated above the bathroom door. Someone from reception came down and showed us where it is. The walk down the gardens to the restaurant is excellent. As is the restaurant, The breakfast is a leisurely affair, with an excellent choice for breakfast.
One thing I liked is that although some people reserved sun loungers by the pool, there is no need, there are plenty, also leading onto the beach, the guests are mostly going to the beach. The pool is fairly large and heated. Naama bay with its numerous places to eat and purchase goods is a step outside the hotel. I understand an annex of the hotel is over the road, so beware when booking, the travel agent pointed this out to us, we chose to stay in the main part. The road is busy, so crossing this several times a day may be a problem.
All the staff are friendly and helpful. It would have been nice if the rooms had been double glazed, we did on a couple of occasions get woken up by noise from Naama bay, and the workers who clean through the night. Otherwise this would have got 5 stars. We would come back to this hotel, for its location, and excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Be careful of choosing the Annex which is over a busy main road.

We travelled as group of 4 people , we stayed 5 nights in the spacious room near the pool with great distribution of the seperate rooms you feel independent .
The staff was friendly and ready at anytime , a little nosy but this is common in Egypt .
The location is more than perfect , simply you are the centre of the city , the place where everybody comes to spend the sunny mornings and the crowded nights , you have a private beach in naama bay , busy night clubs and restaurants at your back door .
I wish if i also stayed in the next door Hilton so I can compare but anyhow the Maritim was a unforgettable stay .

Room Tip: The ones near the road to the pool ground floor

This hotel is in the hear tof Naama Bay. The hotel is spread out from the road to the beach, with clusters of rooms arranged around swimming pools and nicely landscaped areas. The grounds are very nicely maintained. Most of the rooms are not near the water, although I was upgraded to a very nice room with an ocean view. The rooms are not fancy, but they are spacious and comfortable. The staff are incredibly nice and service is excellent. The outdoor heated swimming pool is one of the largest I have seen anywhere. The beach area, although not large, is very nice with comfortable lounge chairs. The dive center, based in the hotel, is excellent (I made 2 dives during my trip). The conference center is a long walk across the main road, which is the only small downside to holding a meeting there. In my view, the only makjor disadvantage of this hotel is that it is right in the commercial heart of Naama Bay, so it seems very urban. If you want more peace and quiet, then some of the hotels outside of town, such as those in Sharks Bay, may be a better choice. All in all, this is a very pleasant hotel, and for those who want to be close to the action in Naama Bay, this will be a good choice.

Room Tip: Some rooms are close to loud nightclubs and bars. If you mind noise at night, best to ask for a qui...

We each paid an extra £10 per night to upgrade from the "annexe" accom offered as standard by Thomson. An hour before check-out we crossed the very busy dual-carriageway over to the annexe area to see what we had avoided. It was completely deserted of guests. A security guard told us that the annexe is only used when the main area rooms are all full. Apparently this does not happen very often. So, if we go again to MJV we will gamble and save ourselves £140.

Will we go again? Yes. This is not in our opinion quite a 5-star hotel - but then we did not pay a 5-star price, even with the unnecessary upgrade fee. The service levels and amenities are not quite up to the fabulous, albeit a little sterile, Movenpick Tala Bay, Jordan, where we stayed last year. But the MJV staff are friendly and polite. The hotel, whilst smaller and less grand than some of its more modern competitors, is quiet, genteel, and very pleasant. Its gardens are fabulous - we've never seen so many hollyhocks. And so fragrant too - we arrived in the evening and the smell as we walked out of reception was heady. Who would want a room next to the pool etc when you have such lovely flower-bedecked paths to enjoy as you stroll to breakfast.

I am a keen snorkeller but had got it into my head that Naama Bay snorkelling would be nowhere near as good as other less crowded places I have visited in the Red Sea. I could scarcely have been more wrong. I counted 23 colourful species on the "baby reef" - in shallow water and easily accesible by novice or even (at low tide) non-swimmers. Okay, the coral here is in poor condition. I notched up 22 more species on bigger reefs in clearer water just beyond MJV's shark net - the only such net I encountered in Naama Bay. 8 more species on the easily accessible reefs further down the bay - max 3 minutes walk or 10 minutes swim. Including everybody's favourite, the Anemonefish/Clownfish/Nemo. BTW, the best fish identifier I found was "Coral Reef Guide Red Sea". I bought my copy from a dive shop, Maison de Mer, 200 yards along the footpath to the town centre. Sharp clear photos and 1200 species including coral.

I saw only a few more species on a boat trip to Tiran island. We booked through MJV rather than Thomson - MJV was MUCH cheaper. And we travelled to the port in a hotel "limo" rather than the cramped and crowded minibus making half a dozen stops enjoyed by the Thomson bookees. The dolphins surfing the bow wave were fabulous - though even the crew were excited, so I think our dolphin experience was exceptional. Well worth £32/EGP30.

Finally, cleanliness. In a word, spotless. One mornng we pulled back the curtains to see no fewer than ten men busy mopping a small section of marble. On our last day, we saw two hotel employees up to their chests in water, busily scrubbing clean the buoys around the baby reef. There's something I've not seen before.

Room Tip: Rooms ending in an even number are further from the noise. Rooms in the "sports"annexe are...

Spent 10 days here in February, absolutely loved it, lovely private beach with an amazing reef which we snorkelled around every day. We were on a b & b basis and the breakfast was to die for! On the morning we left it was very early so we missed breakfast but we were given a breakfast box. It was my birthday while we were there, they delivered a cake up to our room - a nice touch I thought. Great location in naama bay. If I was to be critical the bathrooms could be upgraded. Also in some rooms you can hear background music from the strip.
All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly
I would highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely be back
We stayed in the main area - I would imagine the palm area would be noisy and the sports area a little too far away from the beach restaurants etc although it would be very quite you would have to cross a busy main road to get to the beach

Last time I stayed at the Jolie Ville was in 2003, and this return visit was a very good experience.

After lots of years with the neighboring (and now russian infecited) Hilton Fayroz hotel we decided to give the Jolie Ville a try - and it was a truely joyful experience. If you appreciate peace and calm beach surroundings, soft fine sand, mature clientelle and a top service oriented staff you will enjoy the Jolie Ville.

Room Tip: If you (like me) dont like hard matresses, just call house keeping and they'll provide you with...
