stayed here to celebrate our silver wedding it all went wrong from the minute we got of the bus total mayhem.luggage guys did not have a clue what to do it took over 1 hr to get our room key and then had to que 40 min to get a drink at the piano bar were there were 3 people behind the counter and only 1 serving and was not the usual friendly staff we are used to in Egypt very abrupt and not pleasant .secondly for a 5 star rated hotel no aircon in reception area or any of the resturants only the rooms were airconditioned .on the second day most of the people who arrived on the 20th july became ill with diahhorea myself included and my wife was ill for the next two days we put this down to very poor hygiene . The drinks when you ordered them the waiters took 20-25 min to bring them to your table that's if you got them at all .the glasses were chipped hardly ever cleaned and this is were the illness stems from .We complained on several occasions and had various meetings with hotel management but nothing changed .this hotel is not a 5 star I would only give it 1 star and that is only because the room was good and the views were good, but service and food, I would have been better treated in a consentration camp or prison .The food and beverage manager who says he only started working there at the beginning of the month refused to believe us that the glasses were not being washed properly and when we told him that we had seen mice in the resturants (c view and fajitas ) he asked me if they were looking for bed and breakfast ,which to me sums up the management at this hotel .they don't care about the clients and there dress shows this not 1 of them was decently dressed as appropriate for management ie very scuffy looking .I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO MY WORST ENEMY.

Myself and my husband landed in Sharm airport and was met by our taxi which we'd arranged with hotel. Very good. We were upgraded to deluxe suite room (2244) very nice, 40" flat screen, very comfortable king size bed, dining table, settee an chairs. Very clean room which was kept impeccable every day thanks to our room boy.
We used lagoon pool every day of our 14 nights there, cleaned daily by Hassan who worked very hard. We did get up every morning 6.30 through choice so as not to waste the day, but beds were still available up till 9am an longer at beach area.

Beer was sometimes cold and sometimes warm, as were soft drinks and water too , this was the same at every single bar /restaurant over the hotel. Never consistent. They desperately need more glasses, so they don't keep running out and they should invest in a proper glass cleaner so glasses don't get used hot from dish washer or not just rinsed with tap water prior to being re used.
Why isn't the beer an soft drinks on draught, which would be so much easier.

Breakfast pastries and freshly cooked omelettes were to die for, best meal of the day but need more mugs and spoons for tea/coffee.
The buffet area needs way more staff, it needs clearing quicker and staff need to make sure they are wearing clean clothes. I took my own flash wipes, to clean tables.

A LA Cartes are never consistent , we found the pizza and Italian to be the best, we didn't like The Lebanese or the Shish, but some people we spoke to did.

To be honest we were quite fussy with the foods which we aren't normally but only because we didn't want to be ill ,we didnt eat salads,chicken,fish or rice and although we had a funny tummy on and off we were never poorly. Drink lots of water at least 10 plus bottles of water per day and use hand sanitizer constantly.
Toilets by entertainment pool were cleaned to the highest of standards but lobby toilets were not,very poor there.

Sea was crystal clear with fish galore and made the bad points of the buffet area and food seem insignificant. Fell in love with the finish and loved snorkeling.

The resort grounds were cleaned to the highest standards too, very pretty even though the amount of stairs were shall we say just say a lot.

Some staff were good some not so good but most worked very very hard and I think they were embarrassed by the lack of glasses.
We brought a watch from the shop in hotel after watch we brought from naama bay broke, would recommend the shop in hotel, naama bay we didn't like at all and found them rude, pushy and intimidating, luckily we were confident enough to deal with them but feel for the people who are not as confident. We ate at TGI Fridays which was delicious and also had delivery of McDonalds to hotel.

I did buy 2 cocktails and both were very bad, free cocktails were just as bad too.

Our wedding anniversary was while we were there and we had a letter and cake from management at our restaurant and they sang to us too , our bed was decorated beautifully with flowers and towel art . It was also my birthday too on a different day where a waiter delivered a cake and a letter to our room singing happy birthday

All in all we had a good holiday but for us the buffet area was a huge let down and unless this and the drinks situation was rectified we wouldn't return.
A little bit of work to the most important areas would make this hotel well deserving of its 4 stars

This was our second time visiting the sharm plaza and I have to say we cannot fault the hotel or staff in anyway. Of all the visitors this hotel gets each year we were remembered and welcomed like we were home! . Once again a huge thank you to Karim in la veranda such a lovely genuine member of staff, also would like to thank Mohammed round the roman pool he did everything to look after us in the day. A huge thank you to Mohammed in the Italian for giving us a lovely romantic evening and a lovely meal. And a huge thank you to Mohammed of the pizzeria all giving us such wonderful and memorable nights. The rooms are fantastic the food has a wide range and there is always something you can find to eat. Lovely grounds which are kept very well and fantastic scenery. Can't rave enough about this hotel we love it so much we are returning next year for our honeymoon. Thank you to all the staff at the sharm plaza for such an amazing holiday we are looking forward to seeing you all next year!!

I wasnt going to comment on this site to begin with but from the shocked faces ive had once reporting to my travel agent and insurance companies i realised it would be best to stop other people from experiencing the ordeal in which we did.

we arrived late on a saturday evening to which we were then escorted to a function room where they made us fill a form in and then give us our room key, we were already told we had limited time to get food from the restaurant as it was closing due to the time. we were then shown to our room in which i was disappointed with instantly. we were on a couples holiday celebrating my birthday and my other half is soon leaving to work abroad for a period of time which to our dismay we were faced with 2 single beds. i got changed quickly to go and have food, by the time i was able to put my shoes back on my feet were black!! the buffet we were faced with had no choice of food and everything was cold. the bread had been left out since the crack of dawn right through until the end of the evening. this wasnt the best start to our holiday which only got worse. ill just list some of the things we experienced:

- glasses were never cleaned. swilled under local tap water (which were advised not to drink) and put on a dirty counter to dry
- glasses were all split where one lady we met had cut her lip on and drank from a straw from the remainder of her holiday
- rooms were filthy ( bath was black; marks all over the curtains;floors not mopped or swept)
- our bedsheets hadnt been cleaned all week. i made a mark with my foot on thebed which remained there the whole of our holiday
- we were sick for the whole holiday which meant we were limited to going anywhere as we needed to be around the toilet
- we seemed to be the only people in the hotel who paid for the doctors service (£95) which was disgusting due to the fact that it was their fault that we were ill
- we had to pay for the drinks (in an all inclusive hotel!!!!!)
- the grass in the hotel was sprayed with sewerage water which meant we were greeted with a horrific smell everytime we left out rooms
- we were told in the bar that we were only allowed 1 bottle of water per person. considering we were so ill this was shocking
- the toilets werent cleaned frequently, the cleaning rota was never present in there to see.

this is just a few things in which we experience on this holiday! ive been home two days and its simply not got any better for me!! this started while i faced the fact that my suitcase had been left in egypt. this is when i broke down in the airport! ive spent my time in the hospital as i have a rash now all over my body in which the doctor cant figure out why. the antibiotics i was prescribed by the doctor weren teven known to the british doctor. i am also returning to the doctors tomorrow as i have to have further test for ecoli and salmonela as im still violently ill.

this is my experience of the holiday, however please be careful when visiting this hotel! do so at your own risk and please do be warned!!

Room Tip: i cant imagine there being a good room within this hotel!

We have just come back from this hotel and stayed there for two weeks. Beautiful room looking over the gardens and next to the small pool by the italian, via veneto. If you want peace and quiet then ask for a room in block B so you dont hear all the noise and music from the main pool. Clean beach towels were supplied and room was cleaned every day. 5 pools to choose from so you were spoilt for choice and the private beach leading to the sea was fantastic, especially if you wanted to snorkel which would be quite easily to do on your own. There is a good selection on drinks but the food at the buffet restaurant was dreadful. It only catered for Russians and basically served salad,fish, rice and cabbage every day! There was even mold on one of the cakes one night!! If you want good food then book one of the 6 restaurants in the night. However, you need to book a day in advance and they get fully booked pretty quick if you dont book before 10am. Also even though its all inclusive they try and make you choose from the drinks list that you have to pay for. Our favourite restaurant was the c view restaurant as you could have rib eye steak which was very tasty. The waiters only seemed to serve the people who were tipping them and sometimes we would be waiting 30minutes for our drink to come. The russians seemed to rule the whole hotel and breakfast only catered for them too. If you have children with you, then you are going to struggle. A lot of people complanied as there was only ever pasta and sauce available for children.We ended up having to order mcdonalds and kfc a number of times to the hotel. The shop in the hotel is very expensive, £1.20 for a can of diet pepsi and £3.50 for a normal pack of cookies so i suggest you stock up your case with plenty of snacks. It states that you must not put your towel on a sun lounger before 8am. My partner and I would always go down to the pool by 8am and every sunlounger would have a towel on! We went down at 7:30am one morning and still there was no sun lounger available. When we told the pool boy he just didnt care. We also noticed a few people had tipped pool staff to keep sun loungers for them hidden until they came! We ended up buying lilos to lie on which is ashame. The hotel itself is very beautiful but with lots of steps. Staff were mostly friendly and you could get as much bottled water as you needed. The taxi service the hotel has is excellent. Although expensive, the taxi would be with you in one minute and pick you up the exact time you have asked to come back. Stay away from local taxis, stick with the hotel. A staff member we found very helpful and never left our glass empty was a young boy called mohamed who worked outside the mexican restaurant during the nights. Overall, i would say the hotel is in a good location, plenty of swimming pools and a gorgeous room but if you have children or enjoy your food then you will struggle at this hotel. You just dont expect to be buying mcdonalds when you have paid for all inclusive that should cater for all and not just russians.

Booked very last minute with my wife, wasn't necessarily my first choice from looking at online brochures and reading Trip Advisor reviews. Common thread throughout reviews seems to say more about the people submitting them, than the locations in question.

My Wife and I had an outstanding time at Sharm Plaza. Everything is there at your disposal to have the same time too. Constant burning sunshine, variety of pools and restaurants. Trips to Old Sharm are a hoot in taxis for next to no money and there is a taxi desk in the hotel that will sort this out for you. The facilities and cleanliness are excellent and the food terrifically varied. The one thing that stood out above all else is the staff. They are incredible. They work tirelessly to ensure you have what you want, even during busy periods. You may have to wait a little but you're on Holiday, relax! All the staff, are so friendly, and I mean every single one. This can be extended to all of the Egyptians I met whilst over including the shop vendors in Old Sharm. Yeah there's and agenda in some regard to get you to buy stuff or eat there or whatever but the tourist is essential for the lifeblood of the entire peninsula so they're extremely polite and genuinely friendly. This makes the difference, you feel instantly at ease and the whole Holiday was an absolute blast.

So really and truly, go with an open mind and appreciate that it isn't the Victorian era and these are just people, and given the politeness and respect they deserve will bust their butt to give you great friendly and warm service.

Maybe ask how their day is going too huh?

Cannot recommend highly enough.

I spent 14 days at Sharm Plaza with my family. Interesting experience.
Very nice location, close to the Airport.
Beautiful beach with crystal clear water and lot of fishes around you when swimming.
Location of the family room close to the beach is just perfect. This should be a reason to stay there.
When you enter the hotel lobby you understand, this in not 5* hotel. This was my 3rd visit in Egypt, even Egyptian 5* is different.
It's interesting that during 2 weeks, there was dry cleaning in the rooms, only. No wet cleaning, never!
There are several rstauants in the hotel. A promised by our delegate, Italian is the best, definietly. Also others like Mexican or Shish are pretty good. The food is absolutely O.K.. The service level is different. It's O.K. that you have to make reservation a day before for exact time, but when after 1 hour they say, you have 5 min to leave the table, it's sound unbelievable. Especially, when the restaurant is half empty and nobody is waiting outside.
The strawberry on the cake is when you don't get your dring at the poolbar bacasue of "missing" glasses. Even you see 15-20 at the table. instead to seying you sorry, they shout with you to go away to defferent bar!? This arrogancy is absolutely unexeptable!!!
In general O.K. hotel, but if you are sensitive on service level for your money, think twice before you go......

Room Tip: Definietly a sea view like 1102 for family. Closest to the beach.
