“Good value and amenities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

Our stay here was lovely. Our room was located at the far end of the hotel near the snorkelling pier so we had lots of peace and quiet. There is entertainment throughout the day and evening. The food is decent although not great and the service is usually friendly and prompt. We hired a private car to take us into town which was perfect for us as we like to be away from the hustle and bustle. The activities offered are great: snorkelling, diving, pool games, bingo, etc. etc. and there is a long beachfront to relax on. The pool was a fantastic size considering how busy it was with families. We always managed to get a lounger. Swim up bar is excellent. Room was great, but could have used a bit of renovation in the bathroom. I think with a bit of maintenance this place could definitely be a top tier resort in Sharm.

Room Tip: We were at the beach end of the hotel which is away from the pool and the nightly entertainment. Ver...

Firstly, with regard to the balance of nationalities staying in this hotel, other reviews are correct and this hotel (at the moment) has a predominantly Russian guest base. However, contrary to other reviews, I found this to be quite pleasant, as our fellow guests seemed content to get on with sunbathing and relaxing rather than the "laddish" British behaviour we've sometimes witnessed in more UK-focused venues.

The hotel is located in what, for us, was the ideal spot along on the Sinai coast, with stunning views overlooking Tiran Island, with the most amazing reef just off shore. The grounds and pools are generally excellently maintained, the pools and pool area were clean and free from debris. We stayed in one of "The Level" guest areas, the rooms were also clean and of a good standard. The cleaners were friendly and efficient and did a great job. As an aside, I was happy to pay what was just a little more for a room in this separate area of the hotel, it had it's own pool which was secluded and quiet, and also not on the rounds of the guys booking excursions and beauty treatments. The best aspect of this area was the small separate lounge serving drinks and light snacks, the staff was outstanding in this area, they couldn't do enough for us.

The restaurant was staffed by friendly waiters who were most happy to help and remembered our drinks order by day 2. Food is hot and fresh, but somewhat repetitive. After around three days, many of the dishes were coming up again within the menu, and the choice was a touch limited. There was one amusing incident where the carvery was serving what looked like the most amazing turkey, but when I went up for some, I was provided with slides from what appeared to be a Bernard Matthews turkey roll with stuffing hidden behind the turkey, which appeared to be for presentation only.

My main issue was with the reception area, several mistakes were made and the staff always immediately placed the blame on us..... they booked the shuttle bus for the wrong night, then a) blamed us for not booking it when we "turned up unannounced" and then b) blamed us for not turning up on the afternoon incorrectly booked. We were reminded of the inconvenience we had caused for what they described as persistently causing problems with the shuttle reservations. We asked for our luggage to be taken from the level lounge to reception, this was arranged via the host in the lounge, but we were told off for asking for a collection from the wrong place. I was also told off for not being in my room to answer what I was told was many calls from housekeeping to deliver a dry cleaning order. I did not find this approach professional at all.

In terms of advice, I would say that around the main pool there are a lot of reps doing the rounds for excursions, treatments, diving etc. They are very friendly and have a job to do. If you don't want what they are offering, make sure you are firm and say no, otherwise if you show any interest they will try again. If you ARE interested, many of the trips and diving packages are excellent, we were very happy with those we booked. We found it extremely safe on the quads and camels in the desert. The general British Rep's advice is to avoid these, we had absolutely no issue with security and had a great time, but you need to decide for yourself when you get there. Security in Sharm is obvious everywhere and we did not feel threatened on any occasion. It's just sad to see it so quiet, it's not exactly lively.

Room Tip: We found the rooms in the Levels area to be well worth what was (at our time of visiting) only a lit...

The hotel is beautyful and the service is professional and very kind.
Placed in the most beautyful side of the Red Sea with an amazing variety of fishes and corals.
Perfect for snorkeling and diving, but especially it`s a place you will always want to come back.
The food is very good as well as the beverage. The only problem I met was the animation team, "only for Russians"...

Room Tip: Rooms a bit far from the pool and bar are quiete

Staff, food and pool areas are very good, problem is you're very limited as to your evening entertainment. There is only one (overcrowded) bar to serve the complete hotel, not quite good enough. However, if it's a lovely location and sunshine you want you can't go far wrong

This was our forth time at this hotel and I can say that the staff are brilliant.
On arrival we used to be greeted with a drink, mango juice or something refreshing after a long flight but there was nothing. We booked a seaview room and on the last 3 visits we have always been in the same block but this time they changed it to which I would say was a partial seaview so we requested the block we usually have and although we had to wait an hour before we could get into it it was worth the wait for the view.(Room 4115). For the 2 weeks we are there we get the towel on the first day and go to the beach but unfortunately and a first for us there was no sunbeds left and there was none around the main pool either. The 2nd day we got on the beach near the Level rooms and the Sinai fish restaurant to get away from the noise of the music from the pool bar. This hotel is not one to go to for a quiet time. The beach never gets tidied up and the amount of rubbish left should be cleared by the beach attendant but in 2 weeks we never saw anyone. The sunbeds are of a very poor standard compared to other hotel beds along the beach, it's about time they got them upgraded to padded ones,
The 'Beauty' reps were constantly on at us for treatments and got annoying in the end. Why doesn't the hotel take a leaf out of The Baron resort where they give you a sign to hang on the 'umbrella' not to disturb you.
The food has not changed from last year and the year before that etc but at the end of the day there are enough dishes it's just down to personal choice and thats in all the restaurants. The team at the main bar were great, but the way some Russians (children included) spoke or should I say demanded service was disgraceful and I think they should be praised for what they have to put up with. Special mentions to Sam, Khalid (Kal), Mohamed and Ahmed (Bambino). They made our evenings special, big thanks to them. And to Harry in the main restaurant.
Last but not least is my special friend Ahmed Eldabsha. This man is a very special person and will go far in his chosen career. I cannot speak highly of him.
This hotel is far from being 5*, last year I thought maybe 4+* but now sorry to say 4*. It has so much to offer gets very busy because it can be cheap, but what I say is you get what you pay for. Thank you Melia for another nice holiday.

Room Tip: Room 4115 is sea view but 4116 is cheaper and has the sun on it longer. Ask at reception if you wis...

Just returned from this hotel and had a great time. The staff were first class and could not do enough for us. Hotel was great, the food you could always find something to suit your taste but could do with a bit more variety on some days. The entertainment team work hard especially Young chris the only English team member and Ahmed in the 24 hr bar was first class! I have no problem recommending this hotel . Best time to go late November early December not to many

I chose this hotel for me and my girlfriend for our first holiday together.the hotel was great staff where fantastic.chris from the entertainment team was amazing and very helpful.dont be put of with negative reviews but we were sadly disappointed as I had my mobile phone stolen from our room while we were asleep and the management were not very helpful.me and my girlfriend spent over 2 hrs at nearby police station what an experience lol.our inturpriture told us to say id lost my phone not stolen as it would take months to resolve.then on another two nights we got back to our room and found the patio door open yet again nothing done about it then the day before we came home we were robbed again and this time I got to see the manager at the end of it he offered us only a free upgrade with vip treatment wow what a load of rubbish this hotel is so corrupt the security of this hotel well what can I say
