“Brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2012

This was our fisrt time in Egypt and after reading all the reviews about the Sea Magic, i was so worried because i had booked for my mom, dad, brother and his family.
But it is'nt really that bad yes the rooms need some attention but all the restarants the food was lovley yes its full of rude Russians but they did'nt bother me one bit. If they came in my way i would just put them straight. The kids club was so good all the teachers were good always on time.
The food was brill breakfast = fresh croissant, fresh omeletes with peppers, tomatoes, onions. or which ever way u wanted beans, boied eggs, scrambeled eggs, ceareals, fresh orange juice, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, pineapple juice, mango and lemon juice..... loads of fruits and salads, different yogurts, cheese, beef sausage yummmy. fresh mosley and loads more. dinner was the same loadsto choose from jacket patatoes fish ,pasta, chicken, mash chips was only available at the beach and the Italian outdoor resturant. At the beach they would serve chips burgers chicken in babs chicken sausages. ow i forgot the food we had was warm and yes we had to queue but there was eleven of us and we didnt have to queue for long consederating we needed a big table. Our turn would come before i knew it.
The staff are brill they really go out their way and never are rude always saying your welcome as soon as we say thankyou. we had a brilliant holiday we did alot of excursions but even if we stayed in the hotel we would have been alright yes i will agree its not up to five star @ our standards but its not that bad i was on holiday and i was going to enjoy myself and yes i did.
The ammination team tried very hard they were ok, not brill but juss ok.
The gardens are lovley well kept and yes there is lots of stairs to look at, at first but the Sea Magic bus starts from morning till 10.00pm. going round and round and when the driver knows your room drop of he will drop you off nearer to your room. Looks strange at first the lay out but you soon get the hang of it. if you have a frind in another room you can keep in touch by ringing each other for FREE on the phone just put 8 at the bigining and then the room number it is a bit low but you can comunicate this way for free.
The main swimming pool was really cold i tried to swim but it was jjust to cold. The italian restarant has a swimming pool by it and its warm. The italian restarant is 5min away you could alway catch the sea magic bus. There is another swiming pool indoor with a warm waterfall this was nice. The free towels are lovley and clean and very warm you can exchange them anyway from the beach to big pool or even reception.
didnt get enough time to vist the spa shop or i would love to have a turkish bath ,maybe next time.
There are 7 restrants to choose from but some you have to go there and book,we booked the Tandoori restarant it was lovely and on the menu you get lots to choose from eg. vegtabals, beef, chicken and fish. we had all four and it was lovley and tasty.
We tried to book the Royal Wok but it was fully booked. There is a restarant near the beach the food was lovley their too and there even was a belly dancer and a musician in the evening.
The shops in the hotel are so cheap but please do haggale the price. The purfum shop is owned by Hasaan and he is so good and so nis mohammad opposite his shop he has some bargins( he has all the picture) and not forgetting cheeky Ashraf who likes to be called Ashley. Dont bother with clothers man his too expensive and i found him rude. There is a photo man , we brought a waterproof camara from him and developed the photos of him from the beach snorkling we did our selfs. the photos were developed really good for only £8.00 and we still have the negatives too.
The views are stunning so juss make the most of it.
There is a fridge in every room and you get a big bottle of minerial water everyday, rooms and bathroomare cleaned everyday.
yeh just make sure you shut the balcany door because they forget to lock the door and try and keep the doors and windows shut or the mosgitos will bite.
There is a hairdriyer and washing line in the bathroom., the only thing i would say is there is no tea or coffee facilities in your room and being five star i thought they would aleast provided us with this , but maybe i had booked a standard room thats why.
We was happy with our holiday but we found a lovley english family and they were not very happy with everything can't understand b-cause it was'nt that bad. If you like a full English breakfast then this hotel is not for you, its a muslim country and they don't serve or have pork. There is a shisha area lovley done out but just didnt have time to spend there, lovley views

Room Tip: Dont walk down the steep stairs just wait and a Sea Magic bus will take you to the beach and even b...

2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2012

My wife and 13 year old son recently visited the Sea Magic resort for a 4 x night stay. It was a very disappointing experience. The hotel was advertised as 5 star which was a gross misrepresentation of the truth. Whilst the room was fairly spacious in was borderline acceptable regarding cleanliness. This was rectified by the excellent housekeeping staff but should have really been dealt with prior to arrival.
We had taken an all inclusive package and, whilst inexpensive, I would not regard it a value for money because of the poor quality of the food and the near undrinkable beverages. The food was badly prepared and the choice was limited. There was long queues for nearly everything. The drinks were disgusting. I understand that the local spirits and beers are on offer but because of the quality of the mixers it was impossible to tell which drink was which. The beer, while acceptable was sometimes served in paper cups.
One of the biggest disappointments was the on- site theme restaurants. These were advertised as available with a prior booking. You could only book at the restaurant during working hours. When we tried this we were told the first available table would be in six days!!! Disgraceful. This is however indicative of the standard of food that was on offer throughout the resort. We resorted to going out in the evening to get a decent meal which negated any advantage of the all inclusive.
There were a number of Russian, Eastern European guests in the hotel who were continuously drunk and noisy. I understand people are on holiday but falling about the swimming pool or dinner queues with families in attendance is boorish and tiresome. The staff however were extremely polite and helpful although the bar staff repeatedly asked if you wanted your change (buying brand drinks) let down the side.
On the plus side the facilities are very good. A huge swimming pool with another two heated smaller pools were ticks in the box for the resort. Pool tables and table tennis etc were available and in good condition.
I would certainly not recommend this resort and would strongly advise to avoid at all costs. We travel and work in different location all over the world and are used to eating the local food so this is not a “Brit missing their sausage and mash”.
A massive disappointment for all the family.

Room Tip: Get out of the main building to a villa. Too noisy otherwise.

Before i start just to let you know that we travel to Egypt at least 4 times a year and have family living in Luxor so this is not just a moan.
First we got a excellent deal for a 3 week stay AI at this hotel for £1100 for both of us including flights and transfers, also most not all hotels profess to being 5 star which is totally untrue in our experience.
This hotel is not 5 star nor is the standard.
Arrived, first room was in the main building( not recommended as they are quite rundown) the loo was leaking and to be fair they tried to fix it but to no avail so we were moved to the rooms which over look the sea which are quite nice but still tired and need updating and the balcony's securing. After the first night we noticed little bugs that came out at night and crawled over us by morning we were covered in bites, these louse type things actually fed on us,after catching one large one i took it to reception we were moved straight away and the room was closed down and fumigated. okay that was dealt with and time to relax but unfortunately the hotel is full of nasty rude drunk all day and night queue jumping ignorant Russians even the staff have problems trying to get along with 98% of them,in all the time we have been going to Sharm this is the biggest hotel on resort so the concentration of Russians is unbearable, the queueing just to get into the restaurants is mental as they start to queue a good hour before and when they get in its like a plaque of locusts leaving crap for everyone else, piled high plates and what they don't eat or waste goes into bags (don't think the concept of AI has sunk in yet) so the food is not brilliant to start with so whats left is cold and not appetizing,if it was not for the sheer ignorance and greed of the Russians the food would of been bearable and you would find something to munch on. The top pool is lovely and well maintained, the second smaller heated pool is lovely but on our stay was crowed with Yes you guessed it drunk Russians.
On the upside the beaches where real good with plenty of beds the view from our room was stunning, the staff are brilliant and very hard working but are treated very rudely by some guests, i would only recommend this hotel if you got it very very cheap deal and was on a diet, we will DEFINATLY not go back to the Sea Magic.
also do not have the side rooms in front of reception as our friends were in there and the only view is of the runway and the noise from the planes and also a long way to walk through the hotel and grounds to get down to the beach, which by the way is all steps so not ideal for anyone with walking difficulties or small kiddies pushchairs etc, there is a bus from reception to take you down and back from the beach but if you are in the middle of the resort you still have a large amount of step climbing and walking to and from hotel, rooms and beach.
I have been very honest about this hotel but have to say that we met some really nice people on our stay from the UK and Germany and had lots of laughs with them and the staff who i cant fault

Room Tip: The third room we had was nice with a excellent sea view 2109, and more or less central to everythin...

This hotel had its good points and bad points. I stayed here for one week 22nd Jan till 29th Jan travelling with my boyfriend.

ROOM- We managed to get ourselves a double sea view room by chatting to the reception staff when we arrived. If i was you i would do the same You dont get what you dont ask for they will just dump you anywhere. Are room was fine very big and had an amazing view. The room was very clean however the rooms could do with a reburb and updating. The cleaner was very good and made us lovely towel features everyday which was nice to go into.

ENTERTAINMENT- This hotel had no entertainment, well if your english they didnt anyways. The entertainment consisted of the animation team putting on compititions everynight which were horrible to watch. The nights we did go to watch these shows we only went to amuse ourselves with the people taken part. There is no where to sit at night at this hotel unless you like to be ready for the night time at 4pm which most people dont. We went back to our room most nights because there was just no were to sit.

FOOD AND DRINK- I dont even no where to start with this section apart from i think i lost weight on this holiday which is not normal. We arrived in time for the evening meal and we went into the first resturant we seen which was the main buffet resturants in the lobbey. We had to que for ages to get in, then when we got in i picked up a plate walked around the food and out my plate back down. The food was cold, looked stale and just had no hygiene to it at all. Some lazy people just cant put lids back on which doesnt help. Needless to say we didnt go back to this resturant are whole stay. We did find the little italian resturant down next to the beach and this resturant was much cleaner and staff very friendly. We ate here breakfast, dinner and evening meal all holiday. Breakfast there was a fair bit of choice and i foudn breakfast ok and a bit choice which was ok for us. Dinner time was an outside cooked buffet. There wasnt much choice at all and the food which was left laying have nothing to keep it warm and the food is freezing. Evening meal was the worst of all of them. There is no choice and everything is stone cold they try to keept the food warm with little candles which ovb doesnt work. They serve tomato pasta every day at every meal time apart from breakfast. This pasta is disgusting and is just tomato water. Most nights i ate nothing and would go to bed hungry with a bag of crisps. The food in the hotel is no more then 2 stars if that, they dont cater for the english at all it was very disappointing. Food is a big part of my holiday and if you feel the same then dont go to this hotel.

OVERALL HOTEL- If you are a normal english person and like to talk to others on holiday then dont go to this hotel, there is no english here and you stick out like a sore thumb when you are. This hotel caters for other nationalitys more in both food and entertainment. The hotel is near nothing and need to get taxis everywhere. Nearly everything i have said sounds negitive however the hotel its self was a beautiful hotel i thought and very well kept, staff were great. However food and enetertainment is a big part and it was disgusting for both. I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone as there is much better hotels in sharm that you would pay the same price for and is much better.

Just back from Sea Magic Resort, I'll list it as Good and not maybe not so good

GOOD :
Reception, Really was very nice for the age of the Hotel and prompt service everytime
FOOD
Choice was limited, The Indian and Chinese were both very good we thought , add a few items of the A La Carte and you have a very good meal..But you must book ahead.
ROOM
We had a Junior Suite, No real complaints, massive balcony, massive bedroom and Lounge, bathroom was the only let down
BEACH
Hard on the feet, not sandy at all, Snorkelling very good, Always a chair / lounger available.
BARS.....The Dragon bar was the best by far, Cold Beer as it ought to be, Most other locations in the Hotel i found the beer to be almost at room temperature.
STAFF:...Generally Brilliant.....they are the reason it was a good break, most could not do enough for you, too may too list....they really were Brilliant.

NOT SO GOOD

ROOMS....Little tired, need a make over

THE VIEW SNACK BAR.......Not nice, little dirty in place....probably the poorest area we used twice.
FUSION.....Not muchbetter, cleaner...But staff in there were 50/50,
SHOP / MINI MART....Pricey

Overall......we liked it, would not go back to that Hotel in fairness as we never do revist the same Hotel....like to try things and other places out.

if you have already booked....fear not....it is GOOD

Room Tip: Book a suite if available...worth the extra £50.00

For the price you pay the 5star rating is well worth it. First few days you get a fair bit of hassel from staff selling excursions/spar/nails and hair/tattos!!! But once they know your not intersted they leave you alone, best advice take and ipod when around the pool!! Staff were friendly and welcoming all week, drinks on the table before you had finished you last and ash trays removed as soon as they had more that one end in. Very relaxing atmosphere. Very Wide variety of food but would not recomend anything but all inc for the week as fair distance from any food shops and local shops will try and rip you off. Careful not to get grabbed into a shop and locked in as they will hassel until you buy and will not let you leave until you do, Highly recomend snorkeling in the red sea, amazing value and a great day.
All in all fantastic and would highly recomend for all types of visitor
