“Perfect Location, best choose room only...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Just back from a wonderful week of sun, snorkeling and relaxation with my family and for a last minute get away from this great British weather. This is peak season for the Russians so the hotel was geared up for them, all of the animation was in Russian, the food was geared up for them but to be honest we were very happy to be left alone. The facilities were clean, close to the beach and a taxi ride away from Soho Square where the meals were far better.

Room Tip: Top floor, sea view is what you need to request - oh and a no smoking room.

Dear Valued Guest,

Greetings from Sunny Egypt.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us. Your comments are an important tool in helping us to improve and maintain our services to standards our guests would expect at our 4 star hotel.

We are sad to learn that you feel the hotel is aimed towards Russia guests as this is not the case at all. We have only 1 theme night in the restaurant named the Slovak evening which is aimed to the Russian market. We have only 2 out of 7 animators who are Russian but all are speaking English including 2 native British. Maybe it appeared that the entertainment was in Russian as these are mainly the nationality taking part in the activities but all announcements are first made in English language.

Soho Square is a lovely place to eat as it is owned by the Savoy Hotel and the service is second to none. Obviously you also pay for the privilege.

We are happy you found the hotel clean and that you made use of the facilities on our beach. I hope you found time to enjoy some of the amazing snorkeling we have to offer.

We would love you to visit us again and if you decide to return please do contact me at shellie.wilson@tiranislandsharm.net with any requests you may have.

With best regards

Hi guys please read our review don't always follow the negative points about the hotel! Also don’t wait until you return from your holiday to paste in on the trip Advisory as you will gain nothing act while you are there .We as a group of 15 just had a brilliant two weeks at Tiran Island Hotel. The hotel is approx. 15 minutes from the airport, we arrived at the hotel at around 6.30am and were greeted by a lovely young man who took all our luggages off the coach and into the hotel. The reception staff was not very approachable may be because of language barrier. We were dying for a cup of tea we were offered a glass of orange and our room was not ready. The hotel is amazing it is clean huge; the décor is fantastic just as it shows on the Internet.
We occupied seven rooms on the second floor the sea view it was fantastic, the rooms are clean spacious, aircon and a safe for our valuables clean towel and the lovely towel arts. Our holiday was in the Ramadan period and most of the guys keep their fast and that did not interfere with their professional approach toward their guest.
The director is very approachable and listens to his guest and act on any negative points, Mr. Salah, food and beverages manager he is brilliant he goes out of his way to attend to his guest. In the morning a welcoming shake hand a pleasant smile what a way to start the day, Shellie guest relation manager is a wonderful person she makes time to speak to her guest on a professional aspect and friendly. The restaurant staff are wonderful, the manager is full of jokes < one heart one woman>, his approach towards his colleagues is amazing and it gives his staff the pleasure to communicate with the guest. The food is great, large variety of salad bar, hot food, pasta, chicken, beef, fish and the wonderful outside grill prepared by Bigben such a wonderful character. Breakfast time cereal, toast, fresh bread and baps, juices, coffee, tea, a vast range of patisseries, fruit, hams and cheeses, scrambles eggs, omelets, the list goes on and on. EVERY MEAL WE OBSERVED THE WASTE FROM OTHER GUEST TABLE AND IT IS HARD TO ACCEPT WHY AS THERE ARE PEOPLE STARVING AROUND THE WORLD. PEOPLE SERVE YOUR FOOD AND IF YOU NEED MORE GET MORE DO NOT WASTE! THERE IS PLENTY TO GO AROUND.
Hanny the bar manager is a hard working person especially at the beach party, his cocktails are mouth watering, keep it up Chico works in the lounge bar he is so funny, he tries his best to please his guest with his wonderful Irish coffee.
Music is played at the poolside along with water games such as volleyball and the animation team especially Bobosh is so friendly and funny, they know how to keep the guest entertained by performing daily activities to suit everyone. The pool is large and the guest is free to move around sit in the water and enjoy a cocktail, rum and coke, sandy. Beers refreshingly cold drinks. In the afternoon the children enjoy their chips, burger and ice cream. There is an open bus that runs every 15minutes to the beach the driver is such a wonderful person. On our first evening we did not realised the time the bus stop running, it was his time to finish work but he he gave us a lift to the beach. The beach is beautiful with plenty of sun loungers available, a bar to get your drinks, and the option of hiring snorkelling equipment. Everyday on return to our room it has been perfectly cleaned and fresh towels. We were also greeted with amazing designs made from the towels, which was lovely touch. Through out the week we found the hotel staff to be polite and very helpful. Our representative from Eastmar Tours holiday let us down he collected £1,400. He did not have time to spare for us. We booked four excursions, Lazy boat,Jeep safari,Cleo park and Quad biking we have some unpleasant feed back but we did not see him (Ayman). To make matter worst he booked a coach for us to visit Soho we waited from 5.30pm and the transport arrived at 7.30p[m I rang him he said the bus broke down. I will NEVER used that tour operator. The jeep safari was great through the dessert, tea at the Bedouin, camel ride, snorkelling in the Blue hole in Dahab. We visited Elsama Eyeen Coptic Orthodox church it was amazing, words cannot express the beauty, the hotel booked a taxi and he overcharge us, if you want a taxi just walk outside the hotel much, much cheaper. We visited Soho square it is very nice and clean but did not have much time to look around. We went to Old market to eat pigeon, kebab and shopping again not enough time some beautiful gifts. The weather was fantastic very hot but once you are in the hotel you are cool. The beach area are great the snorkelling was amazing swimming with the fish and coral. all in all we had a great time, the staff are wonderful, very accommodating, the hotel is just amazing. We would highly recommend this hotel to any one who appreciate a good holiday.WE WOULD GO BACK TO TIRAN HOTEL WONDERFUL STAFF ******* X

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a detailed review about your stay with us here at Tiran Island Hotel.

Your comments are an extremely invaluable tool to enable us to improve and maintain our services to the standards you would expect. I am sure your points will be most useful for any potential visitors.

Its great to know that the rooms met with your expectations and the cleaning was to your standards. Although we are 2nd line the sea views are still magnificent and it is nice to wake up in the morning and see the sea of course.

It is nice to hear that you noticed our approach and the way we react to guests inquiries and comments whilst the guest is still in resort. We like to take actions straight away where appropriate in order for the guest to see the differences whilst they are still here. This way they know we are taking their comment seriously.

I will certainly pass on your comments to our Director of Food & Beverage, Mr Salah and to Mr Hany our Bars Manager.

I see also that you managed to find some time to visit outside of the hotel and it appears you had a great time with this too.

We would love you to visit us again so if you do book up please do not hesitate to contact me on shellie.wilson@tiranislandsharm.net and we will do our best to help with any requests you may have.

With best regards

On arrival we were met by a member of staff and our cases were taken to our room. top floor overlooking the gardens. nice and quiet. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. our room cleaner was great too the towel sculptures kept us amused all the stay. Large comfortable beds too.
close to the airport (we could see the planes landing from our balcony) but no real noise issue.
Of course this means a very quick transfer. 10 mins max.
Pool area was clean beds were plentiful and the weather was perfect. didn't see a coud for 11 days....
The food is definitely geared towards the Eastern Europeans. The Russians/Ukranians are rude and have little manners. Unfortunately you have to treat them the same way. They accept it well.
The restauraunt is OK, they do not pay enough attention to the food levels in the serving dishes and are therefore constantly running out.
Our waiter Khairy was excellent. never too much trouble for him. Thanks for the service.
The bread is excellent, the omlettes are good too.
Overall the food is very samey. After a couple of days it becomes a little repetitive.
Sundays is Roast beef night, but it already sliced and in gravy ! It would be nice to see a roast being carved, this would be a good idea.
All the beer is bottled and local.
The beer in the main lobby bar is nearly always warm, lucky if you get a cold beer.
The way to get a cold beer is to tip, so if you like a cold beer, tip early in your stay and you will be looked after, you will also get a large glass.....
The soft drinks are branded coke etc,
The beach is about a 5 minute walk away or a 1 minute bus ride on the hotel transport.
This beach is small, but to be honest you go to the beach for the snorkelling.
At the end of the 30 meter pontoon is a truly amazing snokelling experience.
We went everyday. The boats on the trips from sharm all call here on their way to and from Tiran Island. snorkel to the left of the pontoon and it is amazing. I cannot describe it any better.
Overall the hotel is fine, the food is OK, the drink is OK when you get a cold beer. The spirits are weaker than we are used to.

Dear Valued Guest,

Greetings from sunny Egypt!

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us here at Tiran Island Hotel. Your comments are an important tool in helping us to evaluate our performance and therefore making improvements where necessary.

Its nice to hear you were happy with your room and the cleaning of your room. Our House Keepers work hard at ensuring you feel like home from home when you return to your accommodation after a long day in the sun!

I have to disagree about the food being catered towards to the Eastern Europeans/Russians though. They certainly do not eat chips and jacket potatoes each day or beefburgers and sausages. We do cater for all nationalities at each meal time incorporating our outside grill, live pasta station, live frying station and salad bar. As well as all this choice there is the hot buffet to choose from also. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the Sunday Roast though which again proves we are thinking of our British guests.

I will pass your comments on to the Chef about the refilling of the buffet in order to ensure more attention is paid to these at busy periods.

The local beer is bottled and available on the All Inclusive, however we do offer the likes of Heineken at extra charge if you wish for an imported beer. I have passed on your comment about the warm beer from the lobby bar to our Director of Food & Beverage to investigate but if you are ever unhappy about the bar service its products then please do mention it to our Bars Manager at the time so it can be dealt with immediately.

We are really lucky to have such an amazing coral reef at the end of our jetty. Many boats do stop here to experience the underwater life on their dive trips but we have it free directly off our beach! It certainly is worth exploring.

We would love to welcome you back once again so if you decide to return please let me know at shellie.wilson@tiranislandsharm.net and we will do our best to fulfill any requests you may have.

With best regards

This was our first visit to Egypt and we chose this hotel based on information on line and on trip advisor. The hotel itself was spotless and we were happy with our room 1265 on the second floor with a view of the airport. Our housekeeper kept us amused with very inventive creations, the best being a man in a boat watching TV complete with oars, diving mask and snorkel very funny. You have to pay for bottled water at around £1.25 english pounds or for a large bottle available from the lobby bar. You can help yourself to water from the coolers around the hotel but you are not allowed to fill up your water bottles. Breakfasts are eggs done boiled, fried, scrambled or omelets of your choice, with cereals, many various breads and croissants. Lunch and Dinner were a variety of fish, chicken, beef and pasta dishes. There was always something albeit the rice, potatoes and veg were the same each day. We chose to eat later to avoid the crowds and mayhem. There were too many occasions of no plates, no cups, no glasses, empty food containers etc. The waiters were trying to do everything i.e. clear tables, lay tables, get more cutlery, bring drinks which was OK when not busy, but they couldn't sustain this when busy and things went to pot. Management were evident in the dining room and it was noticeable at the end of our holiday that there seemed to be more organisation in the dining room. You do get mithered by the guys from the spa etc but only when you first arrive they do leave you alone if you say no thanks. Entertainment is so so, it really depends what you are used to. It was just low key and something to watch at night if you wanted to. The snorkeling from the beach was amazing, we went every day afternoons are not as busy as mornings. On the whole a relaxing break, with wall to wall sunshine, great snorkeling and lovely hotel.

Room was good, overall had a very good time although a few things could be improved. The only thing we found disappointing was the food which seemed to be catered to the eastern Europeans/Russians, the food generally was pretty similar. Not much choice for vegetarians unless you like pasta everyday. Ended up eating out 5 nights out of 7. The Italian restaurant on site was very nice and good value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful and offer good local advice. Be prepared to be annoyed by the Russians as they can be very rude and don't seem to understand the concept of queuing. Pool area was very nice, and we had lots of choice for sunbeds. The private beech is 5 min walk away, and clearly sign posted. However the beech area is very small so get there early to avoid disappointment. Overall, this was a nice relaxing holiday, and we did have a good time but its prob more a 3-star than 4.

Room Tip: Rooms with garden view will generally be quieter.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us. Your comments are important and we value both the positive and the negative.

With regards to the food we are disappointed that you feel it is catered towards Eastern European/Russians as we provide a large selection each meal time catering for every nationality. We also made the addition of a Sunday roast along with a Slovak night on a Thursday so our British guests can see the difference in the food we serve daily against the eastern European dishes. For vegetarians or people with special diets our Chefs are on hand to assist if there is nothing suitable at the buffet.

Its nice to hear that you enjoyed the facilities we offer and you made use of both the pool and the beach. I hope you managed to go snorkeling and marvel the wonders that are the Red Sea.

Just returned from another trip to Tiran Island Hotel, it was not a mistake, it was just fab, many of the staff were still there and just as adorable as ever, absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them, hotel could still do with some TLC, but hey that did not stop us from enjoying every minute of our holiday, we most certainly will recommend it and will for sure be going back, thanks to a great bunch of people.

Room Tip: Anywhere close to main building.

Got back last week after staying at the tiran. It was our first visit to Egypt so didn't really know what to expect. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a staff member at check in. Our bags were carried to our room, and was pleasantly surprised to see how spacious and well equipped it was.
There was a wide range of food at meal times, there was also a chef at breakfast that would do you a great omelette of your choice, a wide variety of fresh bread and rolls every day, outside there was a chef and Charcoal grill doing various meats, fish and chicken during the week, then there was the pasta chef whom on an evening cooks in the Indian restaurant and cooks some amazing curries. The waiters and bar staff were great, you did get the occasional one that looked a bit grumpy, but you get that everywhere. The rooms were cleaned everyday including fresh towels.
99% of the staff went out of there way to greet you. Wherever you go you can find people busy at work from gardeners, painters, pool attendants.
We got to meet Mr Lotfy one of the directors and his assistant manager whom were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and hopefully will return at a later date

Room Tip: Our room was overlooking gardens and on the top floor, very quite
