“cheap holiday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2010

just returned from this hotel - all in all we paid a cheap price and got what we paid for. We had booked a room with a terrace or balcony, on arrival we were shown to a room in the basement that did not even have a window. Refused to stay in this room and were shown to a room in the middle of the hotel - again not even a window. When we complained that we had paid for a balcony/terrace were told that none were available. Saw the Rep who managed to sort out the room we had paid for, a ground floor room with a terrace looking across the pool, very nice room with adequate facilities Credit goes to the rep for his efforts. The food was not very good and was invariably only luke warm even when the restaurant had just opened. However, we usually managed to find something to eat. The all inclusive package was from the bar was from 11am - 11pm and service was very good. Pool area is small but appeared to be adequate for the number of guests and the pool man was very good, had your bed ready with towels on for you in same place each day. The downside was the large numbers of russian guests who were rude and pushed you out of the way to get at the food. We saw plates piled high, even though you could go back as many times as you liked, and a lot of the time only half of the food was eaten. There were a lot children again with no manners I never heard one say please or thank you. The staff are very friendly and make an effort to speak to you. The young men who cleaned the rooms were very good and decorated the beds with flowers or towels made into swans - nice touch. The hotel has its own beach, but I would not reccomend it. It is at the very end of the beach area and the sun beds all so close together you can hardly walk between them. The toilets were filthy and the floor appeared to be rather dodgy, we stayed about 10 mins and left. I would not have wanted to eat down there. We looked at the beaches belonging to the other hotels which were far superior All in all as I said we got what we paid for and it was adequate. You get the usual pestering "come into my shop" but again they are only trying to make a living and if you said no and carried walking they gave up. The shopping area looks very drab during the day but at night all the coloured lights come on in the shopping arcades and the bars and restaurantsand the whole place looks very different. It is lively and is pleasant to walk round. Prices are reasonable and you can always haggle.

I would never come back to Egypt again. Very poor food and heygiene in this hotel. Not sutable for children under the age of 6.. Very unsafe for children around the pool area. Staff not helpfull. There was 2 occasion when we had to move rooms due to the smell of waist in the bathrooms. The only good thing about this hotel is your 5 min away from naama bay center. The beach is so hard to find as well. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone..

Before coming to the hotel, we read a lot of the reviews that were not very supportive but we decided to go anyway. To our surprise, the hotel was great; great in its location, great in its price. The room that was given to us was big and comfortable. The hotel Manager Mr. Ehab was very helpful. The New Year Eve party was outstanding with all the efforts that were made. If i go back to sharm, I will consider this hotel again for sure :).

The reviews were mixed but we found this to be a great hotel if you want peace and quiet during the day but BUSY in Naama bay if you want it..we were told by Jet2 that this was a brand new hotel!...well it was 30 yrs ago...so dont know what all the reviews are about the building work not being finished think they maybe have have had a slight refurbishment but that is it..bedroom and bathrooms(old worn rusty fittings) tired and dated main reception and dining rooms have 70s decor??so def not new.The food was good.. plenty to choose from so wont go hungry home made bread, cakes gorgeous and the omelette man at breckie very good...no funny tummys for us either AND we ate salads, fruit and ice cubes..The new years eve celebration dinner was spectacular and all the staff worked soo hard ,waiters, chamber boys(no ladies)pool boys barmen and massage couple all lovely people very friendly and work their socks off...i agree with the reviewer about the greedy wasteful arabs and Russians waste so much food...The beach(tiny) was horrible, packed and too busy did not stay just had a look..some reviewers said for the low price they paid it was all ok we paid £1500 for 2 people for 7 days i dont think thats cheap..really enjoyed holiday though would not have been at all happy with one of the inside rooms (we changed rooms and eventually got a balcony)would recommend for people who want quiet in the day but busy nightlife or just stroll after dinner to people watch! as no taxis needed as walk into naama was only 5 mins

Very good value for money.Every one at the hotel treated us with respect, warmth and a smiling face.Nothing was too much or too little,in fact the right blend has been achieved by the manager and staff.
Food was good, the new year party was interesting as i have never been to a russian arabic one before. We were outnumbered by the russians but to us that added another interesting aspect to the resort. Naama Bay is only a 5 minute walk, and is very clean, but a bit too busy for our liking. The cafe street bars are perfect for people watching. We took the excursions to Cairo and the Red Sea and found then very good value for money.
Thank you manager Ayman and your staff for a very enjoyable time.Eid Saiied
