I would call myself a kind of couch-potato - not a 100%, but kind of ;0).
But even I managed to get on top of Mount Sinai and to enjoy that unforgettable rising of that crimson fireball. You should start at 2 am wearing layers and a wolly hat or warm scarf wrapped around your head. You will sweat while climbing though it is chilly - deadly combination. No mittens are needed, but surely slip-resistant shoes. The bathroom at the carpark is clean, but there are also bathrooms along the way and even many coffee-shops where you can buy water, warm drinks, soft drinks and snacks when your blood sugar level is about to drop.
Those three hours climbing are not easy, but if you have short breaks once in a while you will be fine. Even as a couch-potato my muscles were not sore afterwards. Maybe because of a lot of hiking activities in Jordan and surely because of drinking plenty of water. It is a physical and mental challenge you will be proud of for the rest of your life with a souvenir pic of a magnificent landscape etched in your mind after the sun has drawn the curtains for you. Enjoy!
