We went for a week's stay in the Middle of November just to get away from the awful British weather and enjoy some sun. Flight with Thomas Cook was as per normal, we booked extra leg room ad I am 6ft 4. We were second drop off from the airport, were asked to sit down and would be seen to for check in. We were given a drink then had to wait 20 minutes until the travel rep noticed us sitting and sorted out our check in. This is after everyone else had been checked in.
We were given a family room which was huge, a bedroom with twin beds and a very large main bedroom with a huge king size bed and a great view of the pool and hotel, room was kept clean all week however little items such as a cloth, shampoo, water etc which were there when you checked in were not replaced. Water was sometimes but not everyday! Our cleaner was very happy to ask that everything was okay with our room and made some nice shapes out of our towels.
One massive pool which looked amazing and a smaller heated pool which everyone seem to spend their time around. The hotel was kept very clean and tidy at all times and there was always somewhere to sunbath. However I am a big sun fan and there seemed to be more canopies with shade then places to sit in the sun.
Spent the first two nights in the main buffet which was not very nice, hard to find something to eat in the evening and there was a lot of rude people who push in front of you, make you move off their table (which had a plate with two bread buns on). The food seemed quite repetitive, breakfast was the same, but there was omelletes, fried eggs an cereal which was fine for breakfast. The rest of the week we went to the A La Carte restaurants below is our review of each one:
Supplied one drink then not asked again, had main meal and sat for 15 mins with plates on table and decided to leave as we were walking out got asked if we wanted dessert. Food was acceptable.
Service still poor had to ask someone for a second drink, but the food was better and they did take plates away and we had a dessert.
Brilliant we had a very nice waiter who tried to show us a magic trick, plenty of food supplied and drinks a plenty.
Brilliant again the sweet and sour chicken is to die for and the drinks kept on flowing.
If you are with Thomas cook you are able to visit these as many times as you want, however please read below how I think this will change.
The usual animation team they try their best and some people seemed to enjoy it but not really for us. The late night disco played varied music but poor house type mixes of well known songs as most people were not allowed to drink after midnight it did not get busy.
Our own opinion
We met some lovely people there, Greg and Lucy we met on the first night, Ang, Mark, Nicola and Nanna Pat also Sedgerick and Paula (excuse spelling) they all really made the holiday for us as we had plenty of drinks and laughs. Kevin in the animation team was a good laugh and spent many times getting to know us by the pool and in the evening. However some points when we were suppose to be 24 hour drink we had problems getting served, the hotel gave you a sheet about the hotel saying drinks were only till midnight which seemed true for most of the guests and even the rep in the welcome meeting told us this. Be careful when booking this as I think this will change to midnight from everyone as it is changing names from Sunrise to Sentindo.
However we did not let this bother our holiday, the people we met made the holiday and we hope to meet with them again soon. But we probably would not go back to this hotel unless it was a cheap easy week away we wanted. This is just our opinion as we have stayed in better quality hotels, if you would like just a chilled out week in the sun with no expectations then choose this hotel.
TIp: Go the nearby Jungle Aqua Water park was a great day, don't go on the disco tour with the Animation its a poor night for quite a bit of money. We had to make the rep take us to a better club.
