This review is realistic & based on the price we paid:-
As with most Egyptian hotels knock a star off the rating. We paid £220 for a twin room for a week all inclusive so in my opinion very good value. The main activity of our holiday was scuba diving which we did every day leaving the hotel at 8.30am & not returning until 5pm only on the last day did we spend any time in the hotel during the day.
The hotel is located centrally so within easy walking distance of all shops, restaurants, bars & the Marina. It has mainly a Russian & East European clientèle, all very friendly & better guests than in some Brit dominated hotels I've stayed in.
Two smallish pools & a reasonably sized beach front considering the narrowness of the hotel.
The rooms were a little tired & our AC was very noisy but the beds were good & how much awake time is spent in an hotel room?
The food was a mixture of European & Egyptian freshly cooked food that we found of a good standard particularly bearing in mind the price we paid, but don't expect pizza, beefburger & chips or roast beef & Yorkshire pudding, this is Egypt not Blackpool. A wide selection of salad & breads & BBQ'd fish or meat & pasta available each evening. We preferred eating in the smaller 2nd floor more cosy restaurant rather than the canteen like ground floor restaurant.
The Russian/Ukraine animation team appeared to be very good with the children & much of the evening entertainment was aimed at children. The Beach area is reasonable & has a beach bar
The two Russian guest relation girls were excellent, mixing with the guests & ensuring that everyone was happy with the hotel & its facilities.
Very unusual for any Egyptian hotel it has a bar that opens at midnight & closes at 8am & the drinks are included in the 'All Inclusive' formula.
At breakfast in the upstairs restaurant coffee served in paper cups, a definite no no
Cutlery not replaced quickly enough
Not enough tables available at the main outside bar
The staff are very friendly & appear to like the British, the alcohol is served in pathetic little plastic glasses. Ask the waiters & bar tenders for glasses backed by an occasional small gratuity & you will be upgraded to larger glasses often with a personal bar to table service. In the second floor restaurant this will usually also reserve you a table.
For the third time we dived with the excellent ScubaHurghada who's boat is moored only a 8 minute drive from the hotel. Their prices are very competitive & includes hotel transfers & lunch on the boat.
