“Great hotel - lovely spacious rooms - pity about the food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

Firstly, the spacious comfortable rooms with balconies were fantastic - entrance foyer and public areas impressive - private beach and jetty delightful - enough pools and pool area to escape from rude Russians - all in all a very large but lovely hotel - most of the staff friendly and helpful - BUT...the food overall was very disappointing, not inedible but tasteless and much of the same - as for the a la carte restaurants, it is best to not bother, especially the Indian restaurant where the food and service was disgusting. Food aside, and you will not go starving, this hotel is to be recommended for all its other qualities.

“Does exactly what it says on the tin...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

My expectations of this place were not great due to the reviews on here, I was however pleasantly surprised...

Accommodation was great, we had a family room which had two seperate bedrooms and a large bathroom... It was kept clean and the towel animals were a lovely touch and a nice surprise to come home to every day...

Being February, this was winter in Hurghada, the temperatures were fine for us and there was plenty of sunshine for sunbathing... My only quibble in this area would be that the pools were extremely cold and could do with some form of heating...

Food was nothing exceptional, but we never went hungry... The BBQ always has something nice to offer and the bread and rolls etc were always exceptional... The drinks which were part of the all inclusive were good, but the beer is far too fizzy and left me farting and belching like a trooper...
There is a McDonalds just a very short taxi ride away which provides huge big meals at great value, they also deliver if you're that way inclined...

The games room was great, and reasonably priced... The tenpin bowling lanes are great fun but some of the pool tables are a little bit wonky to say the least... There is also Russian billiard tables for the Russian contingent, which looks like a good game and one I will be learning prior to my next visit!!!
Opposite the games room is the 'nightclub', where you can find nightly entertainment... The party goes on until the small hours and is well worth a look for the scantily clad slimline Russian women and their fat overweight partners...

You get the usual harassment from people trying to sell trips and spa treatments etc, but they soon get the message once you have told them you're not interested...

The water park looks like good fun, but did not give it a go this time...

If you're expecting to make lots of friends at this place, you will be disappointed, unless you can speak Russian, Polish or German... English speakers are outnumbered by at least 20 to 1 in this resort...
I have no real problems with this place and would not hesitate in going back for another visit...

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms for direct access to the sunshine and pools etc...

“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

My wife and I have just returned from Egypt where we spent five days at this hotel before travelling to Luxor for a Nile cruise.
This hotel is quite large and has a sister hotel adjoining where the a-la-carte restaurants are situated. The hotel is large with an impressive array of swimming pools. However, having landed there on 1st February the pools were understandably cold but were used by a number of people. The aqua park was busy for the five days we were there and seemed to be enjoyerd by those using it. The beach seemed to be compacted sand and firm under-foot and again, understandably, the sea was cold as well. There was a constant sea wind but there are windbreaks with the sunbeds which offered shelter.
The rooms were a decent size and clean, the showerroom was also a decent size, there was a complementary safe and the room fridge was restocked each day with Coca Cola and Sprite as well as bottled water.
We had no problems with the food but if you been all-inclusive to Egypt before you know what to expect. The meals seem to be tailored to east European taste but even I as a fussy eater didn't starve to death. The 24 hour bar on the groundfloor coped well with the number of people there and the waiters were hard working and appreciative of any tips.
There is a bank in the shopping area at the hotel but be aware that there seems to be a problem in getting smaller bank notes.
Internet was avaible for 4 euros a half hour or 6 for an hour.
This is a nice hotel and we encountered no problems at all and found sunbeds round the pool with ease - no getting up at daft o'clock to reserve.
I'm not sure how things would run if the hotel was at full capacity but for visiting at the start of February to remind yourself what the sun looks like in winter it is brilliant and we would recommend to anyone to do so and if we come back to Egypt in the winter again we will be happy to use this hotel again.

Room Tip: If you use the gym (which is superbly equipped) you will need to have 'closed toe footwear'...
