This was our first trip to Egypt and we really enjoyed it, the weather was incredible, and we would definitely recommend the hotel. In the airport at Hurghada there is a lot of hassle and you immediately get pounced upon with people trying to sell you visas. You also get hassled quite a lot in Hurghada itself, though inside the hotel there was no problem and it is a really relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere.
The rooms were cleaned to a really high standard, and we got fresh beach and bath towels brought to our room everyday and the fridge was always replenished with lots of bottles of water. The bed was also really big and super comfy. The only thing that was a bit annoying was having to pull out the cabinets to get to a plug sockets and our room was also perhaps unfortunately located since we were woken up at 4am every morning by a tannoy which sounded like a call to prayer - but this may have just been because we visited during Eid.
The pools were fantastic, there was plenty of choice and all the pools had ample sunbeds to choose from, they were also very comfy and there were double shaded ones too. There was also plenty of choice of pool bars, and the service was incredible and the waiters made sure our drinks always stayed topped up while we were by the pool. The kids pool looked incredible as well if you're on a family holiday. We stayed by one of the quieter pools since we found the main pool a bit hassly with people trying to sell things and promote stuff, but we found we were pretty much left alone at the other pool.
There was a good choice of restaurants and they were all really clean, with excellent service. There were live pizza and pasta stations. We didn't find the breakfast choice the best, especially for English tastes, for example they had jalepenos and aubergine, but no beans or bacon, but the rest of the meals made up for this, and we still ate plenty. There was a really nice ice cream and crepe cafe, and everything was made freshly, and there was also a night time dinner, which was also great. I am a vegetarian though which was a bit challenging at times, for example, I had vegetable soup with chicken in.
The entertainment in the hotel was really good - the Fantasia show every night was unlike anything I've ever seen before, the stage was massive, though as the only English people we had to watch it alone from our own individual box, which was a bit lonely. This show is the same every night, though the animation team also put on entertainment which is varied and of a high standard.
Initially we were disappointed not to be staying near the beach, but after we got the bus to Dana Beach hotel, where you can use their beach, and beach bar, we weren't too disappointed as we realised we weren't missing out on much. Although we got the bus the beach is walking distance, as is a large shopping mall, and other shops.
The bar service and drink quality are two outstanding points of this hotel. The beer and spirits were really nice, and served in nice glasses, and were of a much better quality than I have experienced in other all inclusives.
