“Another relaxing stay - K Moran Manchester”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

This was our second stay at the Palm Royale hotel. We spent 2 very relaxing weeks enjoying the Egyptian hospitality. We had a ground floor room which looked out onto the sea and beach. Our room was cleaned to a high standard throughout our stay There are numerous food options - the main Stella Café and 4 onsite themed restaurants which were part of the all inclusive package. Our particular favourite was the Lebanese restaurant. We would recommend eating slightly later (after 9.30pm) in the Stella Café since we found it quieter at this time and still a full range of meals are available - although this might not be a practical option for young families. We found all the staff were very attentive to our needs - nothing was too much trouble. Particular mention must go to Mr Kannan, the front of house manager, who is clearly respected by the staff and did his best to ensure that all visitors enjoyed their stay. Also Ewelina, who was thoughtful and helpful throughout our stay. We also took advantage of the Spa facilities, enjoying reflexology and massages and once again the staff were excellent. The only negative comment we have is the need for more umbrellas or shaded areas around the pool, but this will not stop us from returning in the not too distant future. Thank you to everybody for another relaxing holiday - it was just what we needed!

This hotel is outstanding.
Upon arrival we got upgraded without asking. Our room was in the main hotel which over looked the pool and sea. Once inside the room there was some fresh food waiting for us despite the fact that it was midnight.

Unlike a lot of al inclusive hotels there was no restrictions on the a la carte restaurants, we could eat at any of the 4 as much as we wanted during our stay.

The sea was very close to the hotel and had a large number sun loungers and sun shades and wind breaks at no extra cost.

The pool is outstanding, with a bar accessible from the pool.

Our house keeper (Ramy) was fantastic, each day he left us a different decoration using the towels, some very funny ones. We tried to leave him towel art in return but our skills were not a patch on his. He even left us some flowers and berries.

All the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you. We did tip the staff but they did not seem to expect it which made us feel at ease.

Treatments in the health club were very good and there was a good amount of sport activities in the area.

On the whole this hotel is absolutely first class. I cannot think of anything constructive to say about this hotel.

We will be back for certain.

We have just returned from staying at the Palm Royal in Soma Bay (14/05-21/05).
This is an excellent hotel exceptionally clean and well maintained both inside and out.
When you arrive you are nicely greeted by friendly staff. The lobby entrance is magnificent in every way exactly what you see in the pictures.
We stayed in room 1238 very spacious and clean great view of the large pool lots of space with 2 comfy double beds with mattress toppers. The room contained a mini bar all soft drinks and water were complimentary and were replenished daily.
Flat screen TV on the wall with remote and plenty of english channels if you get time to watch them.
Large wardrobe with use of bathrobes and plenty of wood hangers.
A safe is provided to keep your valuables safe free of charge.
Great bathroom with shower your towels are changed on regular basis. This I have not seen before a magnified mirror with light brilliant for putting on your make or putting in your contact lenses. Complimentary bath wash, shampoo, conditioner & and lotion if you forget your own.

The main buffet restaurant is the Stella Cafe you can eat inside or out food could be a bit hotter (in heat) You get plenty of choice so you will find something to eat. An abundance of different salads and the deserts are to die for.
If you want something special you can chose from 4 A' La Cart restaurants. Greek, Asian, Italian and Lebanese. Not everything is inclusive in these restaurants but the staff do explained that extra charges are printed in blue. We only ate in the Italian and Asian but preferred to go back to the Stella Cafe. Thanks to George. All great staff.

The hotels pools are large with plenty of sun loungers for all. We preferred the pool by by the health club it is slightly warmer than the others. If you book with Thomas Cook you get 3 complimentary treatments I had Fatima for my massages she was excellent.
The hotel is situated in in it own bay with plenty of water sports, kite boarding, wind surfing, diving Free fishing trips.

We had a great Thomas Cook Rep Mustafa (12:00 great time for meeting the next day) he will try to help you sort out using you phone or iPad.
The hotel does have Wifi at a charge we purchased it for 1 hour but you have to use it in the hour. 35 egyptian pounds for the hour.

Entertainment was low key so if you are looking for party night this is not the hotel for you.

I would recommend this hotel if you want to take in the sun, sea and want to relax and chill out.
Please bare in mind that this hotel is quite isolated it is 48km away from Hurghada there are no local shops, bars, restaurants if you want to wander off the resort. The closest place is Senzo Mall about 30mins drive way.
A special thank you to the ladies on guest services who made our wedding anniversary special with a heart shaped cake.

Room Tip: 1236-1244 are excellent view room on the second floor with balconies

Our first time in Egypt. Our short stay was a wonderful introduction to the warmth and kindness of the Egyptian people. Walid Ahmed, the Reservations Manager, took a very personal interest in making sure our stay was absolutely perfect. He took care of all the transportation, touring, and room details so we could completely relax and enjoy. Our ocean front room was quiet, calm, and well appointed. The property has a great beach area and many activities to keep its quests entertained as they see fit. We were only able to spend 3 nights there (due to a cruise ship connection), but the overall experience was so enjoyable that we would easily return for a longer stay. We were so schedule constrained that we unfortunately weren't able to dine in any of the specialty restaurants, but so many other reviews raved about them. It is a very large resort, with many rooms, but we never felt crowded as other guests spread out to pursue their own agendas. Impressive lobby entrance; gave a nice introduction to our experience. The staff was helpful, courteous, and welcoming. It might seem a little out of the way, but it's a complete resort, so there's never any need to leave it unless you decide to take an escorted trip to the Nile to visit Luxor.

Room Tip: Ocean facing and non-pool rooms are worth the upcharge. Very peaceful and quiet.

Just returned (22/05) from the beautiful Palm Royale at Soma Bay I will give you an honest personal opinion, good and bad......so first The location is on a sandy gently sloping beach in a beautiful large bay, great for kids but sadly there is no house reef at all so not the snorkelling site we hoped for. It is quite a remote location so there is no option to 'wander' out of the hotel to browse independent shops and bars. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed and looks classy and feels more individual than most run of the mill resort hotels. The fabric, decor and gardens are beautiful and the general ambience is more like a high quality city hotel rather than a beach resort. The hotel is kept extremely clean and tidy and well maintained, no dirty ashtrays or tables ever, the staff are very proactive and I never saw a table which wasn't cleared as soon as it was vacated. We had room number 1244 which was spacious as was the balcony it was comfortable with good air con and bathroom. The beds are VERY firm but an e-mail request for mattress toppers meant they were already on the bed when we arrived. The room was very well serviced and we had flowers and petals on our bed on our anniversary and towel art on several occasion. The room attendant was very friendly polite and couldn't do enough for us.Also Yousef in Johnnys Bar was excellent as were the staff in the a la carte restaurants which we could visit as often as we wished throughout our stay. The staff were very good friendly and efficient. Food.... our favourite a la carte was the Asian which was superbly run and we felt the best food, they made our anniversary VERY special and even made us a cake. This was closely followed by the Lebanese, then the Greek. The Italian we found to be a disappointment. The buffet was adequate for breakfast had good fresh foods but the hot selection could be better, this was the same at lunch, we used the a la carte every evening. There is a fridge in the room stocked with water soft drinks all inclusive, but the beer is chargeable which I cannot understand when beer is included everywhere else? The wine chocolate nuts crisps etc in the fridge are i felt extortionately priced. Entertainment.....There was a very friendly animation team but the entertainment here is very very low key, no elaborate evening shows, so if that is your thing then this is not the place for you. If you want a very relaxing quiet base, good service from hard working staff this is a perfect choice Tips... These are very gratefully received, and we tipped the waiters a couple of pounds here and there and the room attendant a few pounds on arrival and again mid holiday, well worth it and deserved. Just a few observations..... The all inclusive does not apply to everything but it is fairly obvious what is and isn't included and the staff do advise if there is a charge when you order anything which is not inclusive. The beer is fine the spirits a bit harsh, just ask for small measures with large mixers and they are ok, anything imported, wine in particular, is very expensive. The dive centre which is on site but independently run is very good, professional and value for money. Thomas Cook rep was very good and helpful. All in all a beautiful hotel, not the place for party animals, but perfect for a relaxing, civilised chill out holiday.

We and two friends recently spent two wonderful weeks at the Palm Royale. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were amongst the best we have met. Smiling faces all round and constant willingness to make our holiday enjoyable. Kannan (Front Office Manager) is excellent and has trained his staff well, nothing is too much trouble.

The hotel food and facilities are very good, particularly the Speciality Restaurants. The pools are clean and well monitored by George who will blow his whistle if you are diving into the pool or not adhering to the signs.

Beaches are clean and there are ample loungers and shades,

Hope to make a return visit in the not too distant future.
