“Best Resort in Hurghada”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

I just came back from a 10 nights vacation at Palm Royale resort Soma Bay. I’m a frequent traveler who stayed at several l( class- A) hotels all around the world. I was thrilled by the level of service provided by the hotel team to make my experience a very pleasant one. My great experience started while I was shopping for a nice hotel in the Soma Bay area where I contacted several resorts in the soma bay area, the director of reservation at Palm Royale handled my phone call in a very professional l manner this took me “off market” and decided that my vacation would be at Palm Royale after this phone call with Sherif George.
I decided to stay there for 6 nights at first, but after being surrounded by luxurious resort legendary services by every single personnel works at this establishment. Everyone takes the extra step and gets off of his way to please every guest then; my wife and I decided to stay for 4 more night because we were very happy with the service provided to us. I had an a little issue in our next day of the stay which was handled and resolved in a very timely fashion by the Night Shift Manager, Mr. Zein El Din who was another great example of exceptional Customer Service and professionalism. It’s always good to see someone who really cares and proud of what he is doing.
The food was great and fresh with various selections. Rooms are very spacious and they are all can see the beach. Disregard these bad reviews, mine is a very honest one.

We had the most fabulous honeymoon at the Palm Royale. We were upgraded to a fabulous suite with uninterupted sea views from our balcony. It is well advised to request a high, quiet room as the resort is VERY big and you could end up looking onto the pools etc which may be a little noisy (possibly???). The rooms are immaculate and kept up beautifully. There is real attention to detail with all the decoration on the hotel throughout and it is definiely 5*. We had an amazing week. The beach was beautiful and quiet. We were suprised how windy it is here but we decided that without the wind it would have been unbearably hot, its a great relief to have the breeze but it is a shock to start with. A real retreat for couples looking for quality time together. There was no evening entertainment to speak of really but the resteraunts were fab, great service and food. Lovely sitting outside in 35 degrees enjoying the sound of the crickets, and the quiet bussle of the hotel and spending time together. Not for those looking to have a "night life" in the conventional sense, aparently the nightclub was empty most nights. Infact the hotel was very quiet for guests. We seemed to be the only brits really and most guests chose to eat in the Buffet so the ala carte were peaceful, Lovely menu choices, but not for fussy eaters. We had great fun discovering the translations on the menus(not so accurate!). If booking through a travel agents we would recommended 2 excursions for a 7 night stay. We would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were polite friendly and incredibly hardworking. Make sure you check out the stables, the stable lads were very welcoming and facinating to talk to. The horses, donkey and camel were beautfully cared for with genuine affection. Hats off to their hard work. You will not be disappointed if you book a stay here.

Room Tip: Request a high and quiet room when booking if you want privacy.

Very friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Food was good and themed resteraunts gave plenty of variety. Pool was amazing and access to the beach easy. We loved the closeness to the kitesurfing area at Surf Motion. Our kiteboarding equipment was delivered there and picked up by the hotel. Excellent snorkelling and swimming. Ideal for a 7 day break, spot on, thank you.

We have never been to Eygpt before and had this hotel recommended by the travel agent. The hotel resort was far better than expected. The photos and description in the travel brochures did not do it justice.
From the minute we arrived we found the staff very friendly and helpful with a brilliant sense of humour.
Check in was efficient and the whole stay was problem free. All staff were readily available to attend to our every need and were always on good form.

Each day we found ourselves discovering a new part of the resort due to the extensive well kept gardens, swimming pools and private beach. There was a wide variety of additional activities such as diving (PADI), snorkeling, windsurfing, kite surfing and fishing. The weather was perfect for such activities.

Unlike previous all inclusive holidays we were able to have an unlimited amount of drinks from the bars (not just one drink at a time) that included cold sealed bottled water, unlimited snacks including ice cream and crisps.

The Al a'carte restaurants were available and served high quality food and the chefs came out to check the food was good. Unlike other all inclusive holidays we had unlimited amount of bookings in the al a'carte restaurants.

We were able to go on two excellent trips organised by our friendly and knowledgeable rep Nabil. The trips were entertaining and value for money. We discovered both the current Eygptian culture and ancient Eygpt.

We did enjoy the food but unfortunately did suffer from upset stomachs during our stay but are unable to state the cause as the hotel was kept exceptionally clean and all exposed food was refrigerated or covered.
Overall our stay was excellent,

This place has not only met our expectations but by far surpassed them. We love traveling around to different and 'exotic' destinations and we decided to visit the Palm Royale further to a friend's recommendation. We had never been to Egypt before nor had we ever heard of Hurghada.......the strong and high recommendation however, intrigued us and we decided to give it a shot.
And what a place! From the very warm and impressive sense of arrival entering through lavish landscaped grounds into a majestic lobby,to a very large well and up to date equipped room with such great views into the sea, to a real impressive beach, equally impressive swimming pool..... And I could go on and on.
The services throughout have been excellent. We were always met with friendly, polite and well trained employees; obviously customer care is the main priority and is practiced all over. Restaurants, bars, beach, spa, reception; even when reporting a burnt light in the room, it only took a moment before the technician appeared knocking on our door! The food was delicious all around. From the buffet to the a la carte restaurants to the snack dishes; excellent quality, good value for the money we paid (imported dishes, fresh seafood not included in the AI, which we found absolutely reasonable). We certainly put on a few extra pounds but I guess that is the price to pay when you love your food and the food is so tasty))
The whole place is maintained very clean. Room to public areas, toilets to the grounds. And judging from the size of the place, this must be quite a job! A job well done.

If you want a hotel that supplies excellent quality of staff, a para-surfers paradise, clean, well maintained 5 star venue, then this is the one for you. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they supply you with everything you need and want for, without the usual hand for tips occuring, which for Egypt in our experience is unusual. The rooms are of good size, and quality. The beds are harder than we prefer, so a curtsey call made by Guest Relations star Stephanie, soon righted that by ensuring the housekeeping team placed a matress topper to soften the bed, which worked a treat. Thank you Stephanie. She also kindly showed us the suites that are available, and if your budget can stretch to it, the Panaramic Suite is heaven....one we will aspire too.
.
The reception area is impressive with the staff to match such an opulent welcome especially Guana, she was amazing. Her smile whenever she saw us passing through made us feel very special and most welcome. Again, nothing was too much trouble for this lady. A huge thank you from us.

If you prefer the pool to the beach, make friends with George who will ensure you have your spot, wherever you may want it to be. The pool is huge, clean, although a little cool....some would say breath taking! Shame the swim bar was not open, but hey ho, the nearby by Azure Bar was only a few steps away and again the service was immpecible. The bar manager runs a good clean, efficient ship with Mina Aryan supplying no end of smiles and jolly banter.

The gardens were superb, the grass was enviable of Wembley Stadium, no make believe grass here. The gardeners worked so hard and every border, river or pond area was immaculate - they should be commended for working in such heat outside all day. Shame they dont get an electric buggy to transport their grass cuttings etc rather than the hand push/pull trolley/bike they presently have. We think they deserve to get one, the trailer was very full at times and probably darn heavy.

All in all, an excellent value holiday with nothing to complain about. There is little to do but then for a week away that's exactly what we wanted. We will return, which for us is very unusual to revisit a resort, so hopefully that will show how much we enjoyed this beautiful hotel.

The hotel Manager, which we believe to be Mr Walid, should be very proud of his team, well done to you.

Room Tip: The main building was our preferred choice with the glass scenic elevator making the journey easier...

I don’t usually like to write reviews through the net about hotels or restaurants.
But this time I feel that I have to. This is my third time visiting Hurghanda and second
time I am visiting a Soma bay hotel. It’s for sure the best landscape I have seen in Hurghanda.
The check in was fast and the room the biggest I ever stayed in a hotel.
We were having breakfast at the café Stella restaurant and although the restaurant was packed everything was running smoothly.
For lunch most of the time we were having a snack at Azur bar and a couple of times at the Greek restaurant where you could find fresh fish at very low prices.
For dinner we were trying a different restaurant each night (Asian, Greek, Italian and Lebanese) as we were entitled as per our package included that.
Our favorite was the Lebanese and I highly recommend it.
The other three nights (we stayed for one week) we ate at café Stella and we tried the oriental, Mexican and the barbeque nights as they do every week four different theme nights if I am not mistaken. The service at all restaurants was excellent and the staff very friendly and polite.
The kids were ecstatic with the Disney characters the mini disco and the kids pool.
If you have the chance you should try the romantic dinner by the beach (this I cannot describe in words).
Finally I would like to thank Kanan from reception, Wael from Azur and Nisanta from the
Italian for making our staying so pleasant.
I will come back for sure because this is the best value for money hotel I ever visited.
