Went to Siva early May, went there last year as well. Must admit was a bit dissappointed this time round. A complete turnaround of staff, nobody from last year was present so had to make friends all over again. Was looked after by young chef in upper restaurant and waiters were adequate. Pool boys were a bit slow so if you need a drink order 2 at a time. Room 117 had a lopesided toilet which was quite funny when you had to many lemonades? Rooms were very clean and had clean towels every day, but tip the room boy daily cos sometimes they change frequently. The only complaint i do have is that the bars close very very early evening. Outside 11 oclock, inside 11 30 and upstairs at 12 you have to pay for drinks, there is also a disco that nobody goes to. Also the entertainment is a joke. We wont be going next year.

Stayed here easter 2013 to escape the cold winter and this hotel really hit the spot.
Went with red sea holidays very impressed with the rep (not very good with names) but he was very good knew the area and was very interested in his job . Beach was lovely plenty of beds even if you go down to beach late which is what we do but we were disappointed with snorkelling round this area but the beach and sea is nice and I really enjoyed the pier where you could have a relaxing drink while we were there it closed at 7 which seemed early but it seems it gets very windy and stays open later further into the season . Food was ok yes it was not always as hot as you would like but if you got the show dinner this would be fresh enjoyed the traditional night a lot of effort went into this.

Went on a couple of trips the boat trip to paradise island was good with nice snorkelling also went on the submarine tour which we both really enjoyed seen plenty of fish ..

Nothing much outside hurgada lots of buildings in need of repair some shops outside of hotel which has the normal handbags etc to buy we waited until we arrived and changed our money and we got a better rate than the uk , would I go there again yes the weather for April was 30 and a good hotel with some very good staff

We just came back from Hurghada, Siva Grand Beach. We booked Deluxe room, but we were upgraded to Junior Suita with no extra charge. The room was large, clean, bathroom was in good state and clean. During our visit, hotel walls were repainted. I was surprised by the cleanliness. Before you enter the restaurant, there is a hand sanitizer to disinfect your hands before a meal! All employees who have contact with food are using gloves. I was so excited. Peoples there are very nice and polite. We also make contact with some local peoples and one of them took us to the downtown and showed us Marina, Sakala and Dahar. Must see! It was really nice experience and we will definitely go back to the Siva Grand Beach resort.

Having read some of the points on trip advisor about this hotel before went to Egypt, it came as no surprise that what you see is what you get. The only points we felt we needed to make were:
1, the hype about tipping the staff was in our opinion daunting to say the least. We spoke with many of the team on site and the vast majority kept returning to top drinks up and assist us where required and all of this was done without the need to dip your hand in your pocket. The extremely good guys looked after you no matter what and we decided to thank them on the last day with a tip (100 LE per guy)
2, The hotel itself is very very clean and does exactly what you want it to.
3, Wifi in the lobby only was ONLY a problem at night when about 20 people are trying to log on at the same time (there was always some pratt ruining it for the rest by being on skype) Should you need to use wifi, get yer butt out of bed around 6 am, you can surf very well at this time (Just don't tell everyone or they will all be there)
4, Diving, use Emperor divers. They were excellent.
5, Learning to dive, ask for Ashraf, he is a god!!

A week was enough for us as although the diving was best ever, the hotel was great, the town of Hurghada does not really have that much else going on. All the shops are full of tourist tatt and each tatt shop blends in to the next one as they all have the same tatt in them.
Very dirty out of the tourist areas but we felt very safe at all times.

Room Tip: Save the empty water bottle you get issued a free 1.5 l bottle each day. Fill it from the plentiful...

Should not be named the 'grand' Siva beach as there is not much grand about it! Needs a update, refurbishment and painting and new staff, or time staff training!

The positives: superb weather, spacious room. Comfortable bed. 1 waiter in downstairs lobby bar was excellent. Pool bar food and lunchtime fresh pizzas and afternoon waffles nice part of the all inc. Good reasonable internet from cafe just outside reception.

The negatives: poor service throughout the hotel, usually ignored if you aren't German. Room cleaner would forget to leave towels, toilet rolls, bottled water on a daily basis meaning you would have to find him or go to reception or he would knock on the room door at 08:00 most morning's to deliver pool/beach towels that he had also forgotten the day before? This became v tiresome not needing or wanting to be woken up early when your on holiday!!! Food choice was poor and most of it cold, v hard to get a waiter to serve you with a drink to have with your meal, birds flying around dining rooms picking at bread tables. Bathroom in room needed complete overhaul.
Poor snorkelling/diving from this hotel.

Please be careful when taking a taxi to go to marina/sheraton street, we agreed a price with a taxi driver who kept repeating he was a Christian? He picked us up outside hotel , proceeded to crash into another driver's door when driving off, he was v chatty on way to marina we arranged a time to come back and we noticed whilst we were out he was asleep in his car where he had dropped us off/picking us up and asked him to take us back. On way back he was quiet and when we arrived back at the hotel he became irate and demanding more money from us, more than double the amount, we had agreed on, we had planned to give him more than the agreed amount anyway but we're intimidated by his demands....be aware of this!

Just came back from a week at the siva grand, the hotel needs painting as very dated. The staff were excellent, always cleaning and very pleasant. Rooms were ok. But think they need a kettle in as you could do with a cuppa in the morning. Pool area very clean and you got clean beach towels every day. The beer is very weak I think its about 2%. Was not impressed with the food, breakfast was eggs cheese and meat or cereal. I'm not moaning but never liked any of the breakfast. Other meals were just ok. Plenty choice. I ended up with severe pains in my stomach and the runs after 4 days! Back home now and 7 days later and still have pains in my stomach, I will be going to see my dr tomorrow. The wifi is just not worth having. You could never got onto it. We had to go out the hotel and into a bar to get wifi. Would go back to Egypt. But don't think I would go back to the Siva grand.....

I returned from the Siva Grand Hurghada on 26th April, having spent a week there for a restful break. The hotel was superb, it really lives up to the 'Grand' title. Our room was stunning, with balcony views out to the pool and grounds. The cleaning service was first class, including daily towel changes and replenishment of all the bathroom extras such as shower gel and shampoo.

The food was varied and delicious, with dishes ranging through the spectrum of chinese, indian, thai, arabic and italian, for vegetarians and meat-eaters. There are 4 main restaurants, 3 of which can be selected for evening meals, which provides even more choice. In addition, the pool snack bar provides freshly made waffles with ice cream at 3pm, not to be missed! Actually, I had fears of returning home much heavier than when I left, but despite eating much more than I would at home, I only put on one pound.

I was delighted with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, and will mention the ones who went the extra mile and made our holiday special:
Reception: Mohammed Ali (helped by taking mum's walking needs into consideration - we had room 135, which was stunning and near to all the facilities)
Beach Barman: Hazem (came and checked on us regularly, happy to bring all manner of drinks including making us cups of tea on the beach)
Ocean restaurant: Aymen (the maitre d', he made special non alcoholic cocktails for us)
Ground floor restaurant: Hakim (he was so kind, and brought mum's breakfast every day as she uses a walking stick)
Massage: Rihab
Henna tattoo: Midoo

Also, look out for Nashat on the beach - he sells herbal remedies and I can recommend the black seed ointment for aching joints, at about £2.50.

The hotel has an internet cafe onsite and just outside the entrance, there is a bank, some restaurants and small gift shops. About 10 minutes walk on the right , is a much larger shop and beyond that, a mall. A taxi ride to Sheraton Street is about 30 egyptian pounds and there's even more shopping there.

I didn't try any of the trips this time, as I was having too good a time relaxing on the beach. The sunbeds have privacy screens but you have to leave a towel early to get the booth that you would like.

If you are going to Hurghada and are undecided about which hotel, I would definitely recommend this one.

Room Tip: Room 135 has a large balcony and is well located for the restaurant
