Stayed here from 22/3/13 for a weeks fabulous holiday in room 213.The only downside to the trip was the flight out wards with thomas cook, rude, abrupt scruffy looking flight crew who literally toss your food onto your lap.The plane was so cramped and had that worn, tired feeling, even the head set sockets were broken, and none of the staff wore name badges, they seemed like agency staff. Now for the hotel,FANTASTIC!!!. Rooms are spacious, clean and well equiped with toiletries, clean towels and sheets daily and the room attendant was brilliant. Food is great in the main buffet restaurant, the a la carte restaurants are both wonderful although you do need to book a table the day before you want to dine.Indian spices restaurant is so good, almost like you would expect at a good venue at home, recommend the mixed starter then a chicken tikka massala.Med restaurant is nice, would recommend the veal steak.Service is slow in here though but they don't skimp on the wine which also is good. Tip the staff with dollar bills ( make sure you take plenty with you) and they will look after you. We went on the trip to gift an island (£32) which is a good day out snorkelling, lunch and an hour at gift an island. The boat crew look after you if you are nervous in the sea.Back to the hotel, all staff are first class from Ahmed in the restaurant to sayeed who runs the cabanas. At just £20 make sure you rent a cabana for the day.So a big thank you to everyone at the hotel,we shall return next year.

Room Tip: Stay in a deluxe room, second or third floor.

Booked with thomas cook flight was very cramped and delayed due to someone from air crew not having correct paperwork.Hotel lovely and very well maintained staff very friendly. Rooms very spacious with comfortable beds. Food ok. A la carte Mediterranean restaurant was very good if you could get booked into it.
We did have a problem with the air conditioning in our room as at wasn't getting cold enough it took 2 days to get it sorted but as soon as the guest relations girl was informed she sorted it.
There was a very nice cocktail bar and we were looked after by Amr who even managed to change the GIn that they were using when we arrived for a better one after we mentioned that it wasn't very nice. He was was interesting to talk to and with his language skills and good customer service I think he could be better placed in reception with his lovely smile.
The outside bar area was also very nice in the evening and they had different musical artists most nights.
The beach around the hotel was ok but no good for snorkelling.
It was a nice relaxing break and would recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor as we were meant to have a sea view but being on the ground floor we didnt

As we are staying at this hotel now, I want to write the following:
If you choose any if these three Subrise chain hotels ( Mamlouk, Sunrise Gardens, Sentido) - you wont be disappointed, all of them are cozy and well kept.
Sentido is more of a luxury hotel. We booked a vip villa with a jacuzzi on the roof ( will try it tomorrow and meet the sunset, woohoo!).
Ideal room for newlyweds, romantic people and for those who like space!
Many people said here that food at the main restaurant was well decorated and tasty.
Hmmm. The food is strange here. Yes, strange - in the right corner you can find nice noodles, wok vegs, and some curry spiced chicken while left corner is a complete disappointment - fried meat is hard, chicken shish is tasteless, desserts are with cheap palm oil cream which tastes like pure fat.
Having stayed at Sunrise Gardens( sister hotel) one months ago which is not so posh I can say that some of the cuisine was better there, especially breakfast with 5 kinds of yogurt and 3 kinds of porridge vs 2 kinds of yogurt in Sentido.
Also as we are staying on the second floor of a villa, we have neighbours downstairs who enjoy their private little pool and entrance to the sea while we only can enjoy it from the balcony. Though booking.com says that amongst facilities we have a private pool, that belongs only to the ground floor. So we need to do a u-turn to get to the beach with two children. Very strange!
Though these neighbours are kind and offer us to pass thru them we dont want to ruin their honeymoon with our breed:) So if I was to choose now, I'd take a room on the ground floor with a pool. All vip villas get free internet which stops every 10 mins and nice Turandot sunbeds by the lagoon. You also get guaranteed reservation to the a la carte restaurant which is great.
I must add I liked a basket with seasonal fruits upon our arrival and a bottle of wine which was nice.
In addition, they provide you with very good natural Egyptian cosmetics - try their foot balm, though strong smell it is fantastic for dry feet!
We also liked the beach restaurant for lunch. I personally liked chicken stew from the clay pot, mmm! My husband enjoyed his tuna sandwich and kids ordered spaghetti Bolognese.
In general I'd call this hotel a good semi-Luxury 5* hotel which needs to improve the buffet, the entrance to the sea for vip villas with jacuzzi suits and my husbands kindly asks to serve a bit colder beer:)

We have just spent 1 week at the crystal bay and it was lovely. Flying with Thomas Cook was the only downside to the holiday. This was due to the size of the planes and the rudeness of some of the air stewards. Apart from this, upon arrival to the hotel you are greeted with cold towels and a refreshing drink. Check in was quick and painless and we were soon shown to our room. We chose a deluxe room which really was a good choice. It was spacious, nice furniture and had a comfortable bed.

Breakfast was Ok. The choice could have been slightly better but the seating was nice and you had an option to sit outside which is always nice. We would recommend Hamdy as a waiter. He was friendly, always on hand and nothing was too much trouble. It certainly made attending breakfast in the morning a pleasure.

The pool was spacious and there was more than enough seating. We found a spot that we liked and Emad the pool attendant was always there to help us with this. He would make sure that the beds were free, would ensure a wind breaker was provided and also went the extra mile by providing a special cushion for a bad back as the sun beds could be slightly uncomfortable.

Lunch is lovely at the beach bar. There is a selection of snacks, buffet food and drinks. I would recommend Sayed here as he was very helpful.

Dinner was nice. There was the choice of the main restaurant, the Indian and the Mediterranean. You could also go to the hotel next door to eat but I wouldn't recommend this as the food did not look as nice and the lay out of our hotel was nicer. A tip for the al a carte restaurants is to book the day before you wish to attend as the system only books 24 hours in advance. As with the beach bar, Sayed works at the Indian in the evening and is once again extremely helpful and friendly. At the Mediterranean you will find Hamdy (from breakfast) who will make sure you have a relaxing and care free evening meal.

All in all the hotel is lovely. It is spotlessly clean and I would certainly return in the future.

Just returned to the UK’s snow and freezing temperatures after a glorious week at the Crystal Bay Resort, Hurghada.

With temperatures around the mid to high twenties it is, for most people, a nice time to visit Egypt. Do be aware though that the evenings can still be on the cool side especially if there is a breeze blowing from the North.

On to the hotel itself. Overall it is very hard to fault. Good sized rooms, nice choice of restaurants, (one large buffet style and two a la carte, a Mediterranean and an excellent Indian), spacious gardens, massive pool area and a private beach which seemed well capable of accommodating many more guests than were there last week.

The hotel is part of the Sunrise group which meant that under the all inclusive plan you have access to the facilities of the next door hotel, the Mamlouk Palace Resort.

This gives two further options for booking a la carte meals in an Asian or a Mexican restaurant. (Beware of the tomato chilli soup starter, v.hot!!).

The gardens and surrounding areas are immaculately kept by the army of hard working staff. As I mentioned the pool area is nice and big with plenty of sun beds available through most of the day. The same applies to the beach area which had a wonderful, quiet relaxed atmosphere.

My wife and I booked a trip through the Thomas Cook representative to Luxor. This included visits to the temples of Karnak, the Valley of the Kings and a short but very enjoyable trip on the Nile through Luxor. It was a very long day but excellent value for what you can get from it. Only criticism of the day being returning to the resort after 10pm which did mean we missed out on dinner. We were served soup and snacks in the lounge bar afterwards which didn’t seem so bad once the drinks were flowing!

Back to the hotel and I think the only improvement that could be made is to have a bigger choice of options for main course in the buffet restaurant. If you fail to book into any of the four a la carte options it could be viewed as bit of a disappointment some nights.

Do not let that deter you from a visit to what is overall an excellent choice of resort for the Hurghada area of Egypt. I would be back next week given the opportunity.

Room Tip: Rooms furthest from reception get closer to pool then beach

Just returned from 2 weeks from the crystal Bay. Lovley hotel and better than expected. Food/drinks excellent and the choice at the beach bar was great. Everyone worked hard to keep the grounds looking great. The Lagoon come beach was great and hardly anyone on it and was clean.

the cons: Hotel rooms are sub-standard and are need of an update/revamp but they are clean and comfortable .they are not 5* but 3*.There is no proper beach as such and this disapointed me as i enjoy snorkelling and had to take a good walk to the sister hotels. The snorkelling wasn't great their , the coral ruined by tourism. The beaches were crammed like a scene from Benidorm at the Marmouk palace.
So glad we were staying at the Crystal Bay. Warning visited the Cleopatra supermarket across the road and I was gropped in the genitals by a male member of staff. (and I am male)

All in all great holiday and would definateley recommend and return. I personally did not like that part of Hurghada and do prefer Taba Heights for beaches and snorkelling. Room 225 12/3/13 to 26/3/13
