“DONT JUST DONT STAY HERE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in july 2011. there was no choice on food even though we were all inc you just had to eat what was given to you. there were flies everywhere and I was eaten alive in the dining room 93 mosquito bites in all. the rooms are a disaster...pubes in the fridge, limescale in the toilet so bad it blocked the u bend and blood on the walls. although it was our honeymoon we were provided with 2 single beds with nails protruding from the sides and when we pointed this out we were told to push them together!! some of the staff especially the management were keen to improve standards but this was little consolation. We were afraid to venture outside unless on a daytrip. we booked one for every day to escape the hotel. got food poisoning. pool was filthy. the only other british guests sat in the reception and the woman cried for 2 days till theyy got moved but they had to pay a fortune to do so! overall when away from the hotel egypt was amazing and steeped in history and culture but this hotel lets the country down. were charged for water and there were no other resteraunts in the vicinity. never ever stay here

The hotel is in good location- near center, little walking. Ok the staff was very kind and room service also. First night they gave me a room situated next to the main road- it was cold and noisy and there was no water. When water came it was only cold one. Next day they gave me nicer room when I complained- it was ok, but no hot water. The thing is that the owner doesn´t care about this hotel or the people because its bussiness for him and he doesn´t want to spend money on gas to make hot water. Hotel is dirty, sheets/blankets have stains. They throw the beach towels on the floor and trample on them and maybe was these but these are oily and also withs stains. I got hot water maybe 2 times.
The food was ok when there was anything to eat at all- couple of times they offered omelette, mostly it was white bread and some fried stuff- not healthy at all. Dinner was almost ok, but it was quite the same all the time no variety. Morning box was crappy- sandwich and orange.
I wouldnt choose the place again although the people were nice mostly and it was quite quiet when the russian aunties didn´t yell. Most of the guests are russian and mostly the hotel is quite empty. And the local transfeer from the plane didn´t find it at first place :)
Yes. I don´t like complaining and writing these things but I want to tell about this experience and wish you nice trip and better choises than this was :)

Room Tip: Ask for better room and where the Sun warms it up.

I really don't recommend this hotel.I won't ever go there in my life even if it's paid by someone else. The staff was deplorable and really rude. The food was poor and in the hotel website,it is said that it has greek and italian restaurants but i couldn't find none of them. The only good food we could find were the omlettes in the mornings. The sheets are dirty and the bathroom is like after the second world war.Like I said before, the staff was unfriendly and once,we've been really amazed by the way the receptionist came to us and gave us the packages of food we ordered because we were leaving to Cairo. He came with his pants down and he had no hesitation in meeting with us "dressed" like that.In the first days,we didn't have any water, cold or hot,so we didn't wash our teeths or took a shower.

Upon arriving the reception and staff all very nice, but that was. It started at the lift to our room, there was only one working, the sights were broke on the landing so was quite dark even in the day light, could maybe have put up with the room until we saw the bathroom, filthy no plug to the bath, asked several time but never appeared, no english channels on the tv, beds dirty, and woke up the 1st morning with 27 insect bites on my legs which was very painful (like big blisters) asked for nearest pharmacy or something to put on them, was told to go into Hurghada or stick vodka on em. woke up early one morning could'nt get tea or coffee till after 7am, so decided to have a walk around the gardens, there were 7 wild dogs roaming round did'nt go there. The same food was served breakfast, dinner and tea with other variations. The coffee was cold, water was not boiled, ran out of milk most days and given powered, even to put on your cornflakes the one and only morning they was there. The cutlery, plates and cups were dirty and chipped and the free booze was served in plastic cups. We both had bad stomachs from day one, and the best was first morning there was no water, couldnt have a wash or brush our teeth, had to go down to reception with our wash bags and they sent us to the public toilets with a bottle of water to share. The only thing to do was go in the pool, went in once, there was oily stuff floating in it but it was hard lumps god only knows what it was.I am so glad my daughter and two small grandchildren didnt come with us i would have feared for the kids being so poorly. We managed to move after 3 days would have been sooner if our travel operator would have pulled there fingers out, needless to say we are putting in a claim. The only thing i can say good about this hotel was the staff, they tried so hard and were so nice, wished we could have taken them to the second hotel with us.

Room Tip: Sorry there is'nt one.

Really dirty, crappy location, crappy food, maggots in the pool etc etc.

You get what you pay for i guess. I would never stay at this hotel if i knew before where i would end up. Unfortunatley we booked a cheap trip just to get some sun for a week and ended up here.

Only postive thing was the size of the room (huge!) and it had two balconys with seaview.

upon checking in, the hotel seemed very nice and the rooms ok. but upon returning from a night out, i opened the bathroom door to find half inch maggots crawling up from the drainhole and spreading all across the floor into the bedroom! asit was very late, we decided to take the offer of different roombut i was very glad to leave there the next day! the hotel owner was very scruffy and dirty looking with long greasy hair and all he did was to shout at the staff in front of guests. i was also absolutely covered with mosquito bites that had blistered from my toes to my pelvis and had to go to the hospital for injections. i discovered that behind the hotel pool is a stagnant pond where these insects were breeding. please, for your own good, stay away from this hotel!!

Our tour company put us up here for one night because the hotel we had chosen was overbooked. All I can say is that this was the worst hotel I have stayed at. Everything in this hotel seemed like it was rundown. The only positive thing about Les Rois is their staff, who were very friendly.
